Help Me With My First Build

motr3b

Hi everyone,

i'm new to this forum and this is my first post in here...

my budget is around 2000$ and so far i've come up with these components:

msi z370 gaming pro carbon ac (???)

intel i7 8700k

G.Skill Ripjaws V 32gb ddr4 3200 dual cl15 (???)

Inno3d ichill gtx 1080 x3

samsung 860 evo 500 gb

WD 4TB black 7200 256mb

i'm gonna use it for programming, music production, a little digital painting with photoshop and 1440p/1080p gaming.

i need you to help me pick the right PSU since i can't figure out how much wattage i need for this build and i also am looking for a decent liquid cooler (240-280).

i have doubts about the motherboard and the ram so i'd like to know your opinion on whether or not i should go for them or change them.

any other recommendation is way beyond welcome.

Triple graphics card setup? What for? (Unless x3 is a branding thing)

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I'd go for a 600-650 watt psu for this build. I'd go for an evga clc 280

yes it is a branding thing, it means the card has 3 fans where as the x4 model has 4 fans and the x2 model has 2

For reference to wattage, use the build in my bio as an example

Edit: and don't forget, pcpartpicker is super useful.

sorry i wasn't clear, i recommend the CLC 280, which is a 280mm AIO cooler. It's slightly louder than some but gives arguably the best temps
