Only on my mouse. I use them for selecting gadgets and such in BF4.

Macros on a keyboard are useless unless you're playing a RTS game. The positioning on most keyboards doesn't help either.

I have to agree, I use macro keys all the time for programming, it's like being able to copy 10 things at once and paste any of them whenever I need to, very useful... But not for gaming, at least in my experience.

I used to when I actually gamed more. Not so much anymore for obvious reasons.

well the mouse ones dont really count cause the ussually just bind as another mouse button or a key on your keyboard

macros mean advanced functionality like multiple button presses bound to one press like if i pressed my macro it would chain 3 functions together

I use macro keys for skills in mmo games, but I prefer to do all the button mashing myself and not use macros.

I actually don't use macro keys for gaming. All my macro keys are just keyboard shortcuts and applications. :)

I never use macro keys on my keyboard for gaming, I just use them for launching things like Chrome and Steam. I use the buttons on my mouse for things like reload in FPS and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc. in MMOs.

I never have, but I think I might if they're close to the WASD keys. Only in certain games.

I use the ones on my mouse a fair bit.

Just in windows I have Open Chrome, Open Incognito Tab, Set Monitors to Portrait, Set Monitors to Landscape, Snap Left and Snap Right (Like snapping windows).

I like that they can shorten my most used things.

In games, I usually just use them rebinded. Stick knife under my thumb, reload just behind, swap to previous weapon infront, grenade infront.

Or stuff like Torchlight 2 to open up inventory, menus and such.

for gaming, no

this is coming from a very experienced Hunter player in WoW - I had EVERYTHING keybound. 15 FULL bars of keybinds - 1-5, q, e, r, f, g, z, x, c, v, + shift, + alt, + ctrl, + shift+alt, + ctrl+alt, some others. I couldn't use bartender because it didn't offer enough bars (at the time at least, had to use bongos2). I didn't have a keyboard with macros and never once did I feel I needed it

I have never played a game since that made me feel I needed as many keys, so even less a need for macros. I simply do not understand why anyone needs them for gaming - especially MMO's (that's right, I said it)

Well an option for me is not on here, I had a Coirsair k90 and pretty much never used the macro keys, I tried to and they just werent productive for the games I played, So I traded that out for a QuickfireTK.

As for mice I might use something like a naga hex if I had one but razer products so meh. Steelseries sensei and I don't use anything except the top 3 buttons

I had a G19 for years to play on Call of Dutys.  I used the macro keys for pasting server infos thorough xFire or Steam and to switch weapons twice (to stop the reloading animation so it takes less time to reload your gun).  I acquired a Corsair K70 without macros, I could get rid of the server infos but I needed my double switch macro so I made a AutoHotKey script lol.  Double switch also works with my mouse wheel.  So technically, you might not NEED it, but they are a cool perk.

Well if you're not using them now, don't bother. I used to have some set up to do just stupid stuff when I had a Logitech keyboard. I've had my mechanical keyboard with no LEDs and Macros and other stuff for a couple of years now and I'd have to say that mechanical keys are the most important thing to worry about.
