New iPhone 11 Launching Q3

NewtwoBoys

Guys, I have some insane news you guys are not going to believe it. Apple's next iPhone is going to launch in the same time frame it always does. I know it's very surprising and you guys probably aren't gonna believe it, but trust me, it's true.

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

And make sure you do it by hitting the quote button at the bottom left of my post, and not the one inside the editor!

@DocSwag

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Literally, the only things from apple I think are worth what you pay for, are the iPads. And possibly the Mac(Book).

Ever since they ruined the keyboard and ditched the ports, I have been turned off to Macbooks. I don't want to live in dongle hell.

I'm still using a MacBook Air from, like, 2015,  sooo...

I've been trying to save for a REAL PC for quite some time lol.

I also really hate their MagicMouse.

Nice, me too. I bought mine after I graduated in 2013. I'm going to replace the battery when I get back to the States. That thing will carry me forward through the Shadow of the Valley of Dongle Hell. I love that thing.

You have to admit that the Smartphone Plateau is a real thing though. How about we start a real conversation about it. Isn't that what Apple's recent stock drop was related to? People don't feel the need to upgrade every year. That's why they put you on a special upgrade plan where you pay money to them indefinitely and get a new phone ever year. What are your thoughts?

It seems that the industry is maturing, just like the PC industry did over a decade ago.

What is interesting with Apple at least is that the generation number is included within a phone's name such as iPhone 6, 7, X etc. whereas with their computers they just call them the Macbook, iMac etc. It shows that they place more emphasis on the yearly improvements with phones that their computers.

I mean I use an iPhone 6s Plus as my daily driver. The smartphone plateau is real but it doesn't effect me

Interestingly enough it seems like the new mac mini is still quite modular, so that does not apply to all of their products.

I prefer to buy my phones outright and then run them into the ground. I had a Nexus 6 that I used from 2015 to 2018 and now I purchased a Galaxy s9 that I plan to use for at least that much time. I don't like having to make payments on a phone, but that is a personal preference. Some people don't mind paying continually as long as they keep getting upgraded (which isn't unfair, it's just not for me).

Yeah, I almost bought that phone a while ago. Have you replaced the battery?

It may not affect you, but it sure does affect Apple ;)

Yep, got the $30 battery replacement. I plan on keeping it until the next round of iPhones come out.

So September of this year? Why did you make that decision? Is it finally slowing down?

So in a way, you actually have been affected by the Smartphone Plateau because you did not see a need to buy a new phone until this year.

This choice also affects Apple because you haven't given them money for a new phone since you bought your 6s.

So you're assuming that I only buy iPhones and that Apple only sells iPhones? I've gotten an Apple Watch and MacBook since I've had my iPhone. Also tons of App store and iTunes purchases.
