Custom Loop Pump Speed

So i recently just put in a custom loop. I was wondering if a higher pump speed is better for thermals? Because a faster pump means more water running over hot components, on the other hand it also means the water spends less time in the radiator being cooled. Does anyone have a definitive answer on which option would help temps more.

Having the fluid circulate faster can help to a certain degree as it will keep the whole loop at a more equal equilibrium, but your results will usually only yield a degree or two. In most situations it's recommended to turn down the pump to a comfortable level and leave it there. I personally idle pump even under full load for reducing noise levels.

As far as I know the minimum acceptable flow rate is around 0.5 GPM and anything above 1 GPM won't do much to your temps.

Test it and see. Not all loops are the same so neither will the answer.

All of my rigs have different components and a different amount.  Thus my pumps should be running different but I don’t.
