Radeon/AMD equivalent to Nvidia ShadowPlay?

Go to solution Solved by kelvinhall05,

Radeon Relive. You can't record the last 5 minutes of gameplay, but you can record .gifs of up to the last 30 seconds of gameplay, along with straight up recording (although I'd recommend OBS for that).

I don't know where you found stuff about it being mostly for livestreaming (maybe old threads?), but I'd say it's the closest thing to Shadowplay for Team Red.

Hello,

First off I'm sorry if this is the wrong thread to post questions like this. Im not sure if it fits here or if it should go to the "Software" section...

Okay, now to the actual question.

Recently I have been debating if I should try a Radeon/AMD GPU whenever I decide to actually get a new one. (This very well will take some time, im currently pretty happy)

But today I dont want to discuss Performance or value. One thing im not sure about is if Radeon cards have something like Nvidia´s ShadowPlay.

I love to quick save the past ~5min of gameplay at times and I really love to take in-game screenshots and thus adore Nvidia Ansel.

So I wanted to ask if something like that exist for Team Red. I only fond something called ReLive and most topics talking about it I found makes me thinks its more for Livestreaming.

Thank you for your time. :3

I guess most thread´s I found where talking about Livestream performance or something so I just assumed. But damn the facts that you cant quick record highlights might be a bit of a deal breaker when it comes to that. Dunno why they would leave that out, its awesome. But I guess not everything can be perfect.

Thank you for your time.

Yes, you can. Get a cool kill or something in-game? Press shift+control+j (or whatever you map it to) to record it. I don't know what else you could want from it.

Like I said, you can set it to record up to the last 30 seconds of a game. I'm pretty sure that's very similar to what Shadowplay does.

You can set it to record longer than that, I think I have mine set to 5-10 minutes or so. It'd probs only be the last 30 seconds if you want it in GIF format.

It is. Got my brother an HD7970 GHz to replace a GTX 650ti, and he's had no problems with recording highlights. And this is with an old LGA771 Xeon+DDR2 800, and no performance impact.

Thank you for your time.

You can just use OBS, it has that functionality and will work on any platform.

OBS supports highlight capture now?

I at least need to capture the last 5min or so. Yeah I could record all the time but i prefer just saving the last 5min if something big happens...
