Michael Pachter confirms he hasn't got a clue what he's talking about, claims PS5 will be capable of 4K @ 240FPS

I think it's partly due to the fact that the console manufacturers don't want to 'muddy the waters'. They want use to the 4K buzz-word without explaining if it's native or up-scaled/checkerboard, in a sense they are being intentionally misled.

In which case? in the OP it's definitely just a gaff as he has clarified his commentary, with regard to the "better quality pixels" There is nothing misleading because the xbox in question can natively render 4K, It was a a misnomer off sorts that was only apparent to those who understand how pixels work, the message and intent is not inherently wrong.  A natively resolved image is better than an up-scaled one becasue no pixels are blended with their neighbors.  One can argue in this day and age with better scaling technologies that that is moot, but technically it is still correct.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

Yeah nothing against Michael Pachter, he's clarified his comments. I was referring more to the PS4 Pro with it's checkerboard style 4K. Even on Sony's website it's "4K Gaming*". I actually feel bad for Pachter now, he clearly miscommunicated.
