Won’t Post. But it’s different . I’ve never seen this before.

I have just built my new rig and it won’t post.  The components are getting power but my keyboard and mouse won’t. And it won’t post.  The EZ debug LED aren’t indicating if something is wrong. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you checked that's where the RAM stick should go? Make sure it's in the correct position, sometimes it won't post at all. But the keyboard and mouse is strange. Try the front panel usb?

Looking like something wrong with the motherboard to me, but I'll keep looking/thinking

Check your CPU 8 pin power connected is plugged into the top of the board by the rear io area as it looks like it may not be plugged in from the picture.

Check your CPU power cable is plugged in as it looks like an empty connecter in the photo

Hey so update, the CPU cable is in (the picture is just shitty light).  We wanted to see if we could get and error code if we removed the RAM.  Once done, the debug lights CPU and DRAM lit up.  So now I’m thinking that the RAM is screwed and the CPU just doesn’t like it.

Try the RAM in all 4 slots. Make sure it is allllll the way in.

MSI boards are particularly picky about where RAM is during first POST. I had the same scare with my build. One stick goes in Slot 1, then after that you can put in the rest.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

I think I see your issue and no one else has said it yet. If I'm not mistaken the B350 series of motherboards was during the first gen Ryzen chips. The 2700 is second gen. Which means the motherboard might need a bios update before it can use your 2700 CPU.

That is a good point actually. Forgot about that. Most newly bought B350 boards should be updated but might not be

I think, in that case anyway, you can message AMD and they'll send you a first-gen CPU(which you'll have to send back) in order to be able to perform the update... Don't quote me on that one, though...?
