Fake notifications?

ELECTRISK

that's what they're using to generate the notifications, seems legit i guess

I recently came across a website that I suspect to be showing fake notifications of people buying merchandise.

https://www.mmstore.com/

below you can see an example of one of these notifications.

I am wondering if anyone with programming experience could view the pages code and confirm or deny my suspicions.

My suspicion comes only from the frequency of the notifications.

Also, if anyone can provide any insight on the legality of these practices, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

Are you using Google Chrome?

Because that might be a Chrome notification (which can be turned off): https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/3220216?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en

As for the actual message in the notification, I can't confirm if it's real or not.

I am using google chrome. I don't really want to turn off the notifications, I just want to know if the notifications are of real sales or if they're fake and solely to draw attention to merchandise.

I don't know the answer to that.
