Hi All,

Currently I play Games such as Osu, Warframe, CS GO and Overwatch.

I'm looking for a gaming laptop around £1000 - £1500 and I'm thinking the minimum specs to ensure I can run these games on high/highest settings at high FPS with preferably a non-60hz monitor would be beneficial but I've no idea on which laptop to choose/think about purchasing.

My thoughts on "Minimum Requirements" I'd like for this is a quad core cpu, 16 GB RAM, a graphics card preferably 4gb or higher and if possible an SSD.

Let me know if this is possible/any devices people would recommend.

If possible, let me know the cost of a similar desktop unit as i'm currently undecided on whether I should stick with gaming on the go or not.

Thanks :)

well, desktops, even small ones will offer way better performence for less, because of power and thermal limits with a laptop. I'm not the best at laptops, but i can help with a smaller or just a nice big desktop if you want

yea a realy small build would be good if you want to travel sometimes but its mostly stationary, but then you gotta count in the screen

Gaming laptop is just not a good buy if you really want to game on the go (or in a dormitory if that matters).

If you want both portability, performance and battery life, it's just isn't there. I am aware the existence of MX150-based laptop that can handle e-sport titles pretty well yet surprisingly portable, but that does not change the fact that gaming laptop is a bad value.

If you do want a gaming PC with some mobility in mind, get a SFF case like SilverStone ML-08 with handle and pick up a 15 inch USB powered screen on Amazon (or cheap refurbish form Dell), you will have a decent gaming experience with some upgrade path.

Or hack, just buy a small gaming barebone like Zotac E-series ZBox or even Intel Hades Canyon NUC, those offers much more than a gaming laptop with few compromise in upgrade option for future.

Hi All,

Apologies for the late reply, I'm not too confident when it comes to desktop PCs especially building, so a friend of mine has advised a service similar to PC Part Picker is it possible to advise either a list/link to a build I can look to purchase individual items for obviously from different sources so I can get the best deal
