Just made this video cause I could and thought it would be fun.

I talk about the pros and cons of the different methods to holding a mouse when gaming.

 

Let me know what you think.

 

F4c2a and I, made some comments on YT that gives some extra advice on grips that probably should have been in the video.

claw/fingertip/side combination of that 3 is how I hold it.

 

this way I use my side to hold my hand - thus I can use mouse indefinitely and I still have the speed of claw and twitchiness of finger :P

I honestly use all three without even knowing.  Sometimes I'll be gaming or just browsing the web, and my hand will be in a claw grip.  Other times, I'll look down and be palming the mouse.  Strange.

I switch between grips as well. If I am gaming then I will use claw but if I'm just at the desktop then I'll use fingertip.

I do a cross with fingertip and claw.

I use palm and fingertip when I'm derping around the web, and claw when gaming.

I wish I could use palm... Sadly I have MASSIVE FREAKING HANDS.

Palm is so uncomfortable.. And I always thought I was a claw grip person, but according to your video, I use the fingertip mouse grip. Maybe a hybrid of the two or something.

This might be why I hate palm grip. I have a huge mouse and my hand floats over it so easily. It isn't ergonomic, though.

yeah, I have a razer mamba, it's 6 inches long, and my hand looks like a blanket on top of it :/

 

I want to get a bigger mouse someday but IDK what to buy, I sorta like the corsair m95, I may buy one soon

I am constantly changing from one to the other without even knowing, so most of the time it's a combo.

For me palm grip feels horrible. I use fingertip and claw because i can click faster and with more responsiveness in games.

I finally understood mouse grips!

I use fingertip on a Corsair Raptor M40.

Edit: But more of a relaxed style, with my wrist on the mousepad.

Topic title says it all and why? For me, it's hard for me to pinpoint exactly what grip I use because I use a mousepad with a palm rest and I feel more comfortable using a claw grip, however, I feel like if the mousepad was just straight without a palm rest I'd be using more of a palm grip because it's a lot more comfortable. How about you guys? Do you guys change grips between gaming or other activities? Is anyone lost on their type of mouse grip like I am?

I have quite big hands so i use the palm type grip on my palm type mouse  :) , Qpad OM-75

I'm between fintertip and palm. I honestly don't see how people palm grip in fps'.
