1 monitor and 2 connections from a single PC

Mihad

Hello!

so I just got a new gaming rig with the following specs:

Asus z270 pro gaming

Intel i7-7700

Gigabyte’s GTX 1080Ti

32GB DDR4 ram

ssd nvme....

so quite a powerful machine I think.

And the monitor I bought is Samsungs super-ultra-wide chg90 49” with 144hz refresh rate.

My question is, can I connect a single pc with 2 cables to this one monitor so it will act like it’s 2 separate monitors and I can run half of it fullscreen some game (PUBG ie...) and the other half can stay clear for anything else...??

OR how can I set the same game (PUBG) to stay in the 2560:1080 (but not windowed!) resolution while the remainings of my screen are clear?

I really hope anyone understands what I am trying to achieve ?

Sell it, buy a regular ultrawide and a second monitor, then take the left over money and buy a better GPU.

LMAO I'm blind af. Still... That monitor is a waste of space. Might as well get triple 1080s. It'll still be like 60% of the total cost.

How is it? You get what you pay for.

Many games actually do support 32:9.

Funny enough, CSGO doesn't have it's 21:9 problems on 32:9.

From a previous comment.

any game that does HFoV+ will run 32:9.

Almost every MMORPG will support 32:9 because almost all of them use HFoV+.

I used to play on 32:9 so here's games that I've tried that support 32:9 that I've played.

LoL

Dota2

CS:GO

WildStar

Vindictus

Guild Wars 2

Blade and Soul

TERA

Battlefield 3 and 4 (Battlefield 1 also works)

StarWars Battlefront

SWTOR

Battleborn

Quake Champions

MU Legend

Eden Eternal

Rise of the Tomb Raider

WarThunder

World of Warcraft

The Crew

Final Fantasy XIV

Deus EX Human Revolution

Games that can be played in 32:9 but need a bit of a work around or fix

DOOM (flawless widescreen fixes it)

Tomb Raider (Running in Windowed mode with auto aspect ratio)

Black Ops3(Stretches, but does't distort the center)

I mean 60%, my bad. Because it's two 1080p monitors glued together for a grand. Why do that when you can run triple 144Hz 1080p panels for a sum total of like $550?

From my opinion:

horrible boarders.

bragging rights.

linear curving.

i mean I get what your saying, but if you can afford it why not go the best for that extra millimetre of enjoyment.

its like comparing a Lamborghini and a Bugatti. A Bugatti could be 5x the price but if you can afford it even if it’s 1.01x the happiness why not.
