2600 running really hot

I recently built a PC with a ryzen 5 2600 but it runs really hot, like 45-50 degrees Celsius when just browsing the web, Im using the wraith stealth cooler that it came with and the heatsink isn't warm and I don't think its running at a high RPM (I don't know how to check)

what could it be? Im not using speccy to read the temperature Im using ryzen master

What are the load Temps like? That is way more important. Even more so in 2018 where most coolers just run mainly quiet but give up a lot of cooling performance with the low rpms. 

 

Also what about ambient Temps?

also is the cooler all the way screwed in? (i have had and a few friends have had where the cooler wasn't tight enough before)

Make sure the CPU fan is plugged into the right header.  Check your motherboard manual.  It should be plugged into the cpu fan header, not a chassis fan header.

Does not seem to out of the ordinary. Wraith Stealth is very light

I made sure to both of these

I like OCCT but there's a ton of tools out there. For general testing just do whatever you do with the system, for example plas your most demanding game.

I see Cinebench recommended most often and it's a good one. 

 

I use prime95.  Some people say prime95 could cause damage to the cpu, and I've only used it on Intel, so I don't know how prime95 behaves with ryzen.  That being said, if you choose prime95, through my research, version 26.6 is the safest one and the one I see most overclockers recommend.  If you do use prime95, use the small fft.  I like prime95 because if your CPU is cool on it and your OC is stable on it, then you're good.  Most other programs won't even come close to getting your CPU that hot.

I used OCCT and the CPU ran at 71 degrees at 3.4ghz after about 4 minutes

That looks good.  Might even have some headroom to overclock if you wanted.  If you wanted lower temps or more room for overclocking, you could spend ~$20-$40 on a better cooler (hyper 212, Croyrig H7 would be my two recommendations for that cpu), but if you don't plan to overclock you shouldn't need to.

Turns out the problem was the thermal paste. The pre-applied thermal paste was either too little or I did something wrong when installing it, I went to the store to get new thermal paste (TG-7) and replaced the preapplied thermal paste (which didn't look nearly enough, I just saw like streaks of it on the CPU) and now its like 35-37 degrees when it would be 45 before

That is more like it for idle temps.  Load temps can go up to 100c .. Then CPU will shut off comp to protect it.

actually turns out that didn't fix it, the CPU is running at like 45-60 no matter what, I even when I set the clock speeds to as low as .59 ghz

I also doubt its the thermal paste as the heatsink gets warm
