Ryzen 3000 Mobile Benchmarks leaked (Aka Picasso)

This is my first time doing this kind of thing so any suggestions as to how to do this better would be appreciated  

According to Tom's Hardware the next gen of Ryzen Mobile APU's have been leaked by Twitter user TUM_APISAK depicting both naming schemes and Geekbench 4 results for 3 of the chips. 

 

 

The list goes as follows 

 

 

Interestingly Tom's Hardware noted 

Quote

"All of the scores appear to come from HP laptops, in 14 and 17-inch sizes. The Geekbench tests were run on Dec. 12 and 13."

 And 

Quote

"If it's not a typo, it's possible that the 300U is a low-end Athlon chip, as the naming seems to correspond with the Athlon 200GE"

From this we can assume that we might get something like a Celeron Equivalent APU. 

 

 

Personal Opinion: 

Its interesting that HP is already sampling chips like the 3500U, 3300U and the 3200U. My guess is that we might see these chips in early 2019. Though from the benchmarks im betting more on it being based on 12nm instead of 7nm. Looking at the 3500U specifically I see a small boost to what my personal 2500U can do. Though Im questioning why AMD bothers with the 3300U if we never saw 2300U really be used. Not to mention theres no mention of what Vega were looking at. So personally take all of this with a grain of salt

I haven't followed mobile Ryzen, but take for example the desktop 2000 series APUs, they're Zen not Zen+. It follows that desktop 3000 series APUs might be Zen+ not Zen 2. Do the mobile CPUs do as the APUs?

i've seen some laptops with 2300u in the market by HP.

Respins with the 14nm improvements. There might be some tweaks, but that's probably all in the microcode rather than any part of the SoC itself. Hopefully the OEMs play along with drivers (see the recent Reddit dust up about it) and that we actually see these someplace.

 

I believe the EU's extremely large fine is still being appealed over the last time Intel knocked AMD out of Mobile.

The APUs are the mobile CPUs. They're also the SKUs AMD tends to sell for years & years. That's part of why they're going "last" compared to Intel going "first" to mobile. In good chunks of the world, there are far, far too many A10s running around.

Just like the 2000 mobile which is zen this will be the zen+ at its core. That's why its still have vega not navi. And 4 core not 6. CMIIW.

Hmm I kinda thought they'd go straight to 7nm Zen2 core for next APUs to follow along desktop and mobile on the same page.

Schedule should be something like "Rome is currently going to Hyperscaler builds" but official release in March, Ryzen 3rd Gen probably in May. TR3 in August and APUs to OEMs around August as well. Should see 4th Gen APUs (7nm parts) in laptops right at Christmas 2019.

 

Navi is also probably in that July/August range as well.

 

My prediction for TR3 is 16c, 32c and 48c parts. AMD will have ever reason to keep the 64 core parts for TR4 in 2020, mostly as they can sell fully working packages for several thousands of dollars each.

I got one too by today's standards the CPU is basically nothing. Even with a SSD and 6GB of ram, anything Windows 8+ is a slog. Never tried reverting it to 7... now I want to try! Still faster than the netbook it replaced... 1c2t atom!

Thats what I meant . I game on a $579 USD laptop (About 800ish AUD). Like $600ish got me an R5

Ah, Mine is oviously an Envy X360 with the ovious R5 2500U
