NEED HELP. Video card-Future proofing--144Hz 1080p Gaming

What is the best future-proofing graphics card for 144Hz 1080p gaming?

2080 jk, I've been on a 980Ti and i've been fine so far. anything 1080Ti + would be fine. 2070 isn't worth your money. The 1080ti still out preforms it. A nice OC on a 1080ti will still beat a 2080 as well.

RX 580 8GB ( I think it should do fine for 3 to 5 years)

Not planning on getting the RTX series.. since its really overkill and having some issues. 

and i'm only doing some high-end games and some productivity, I think RTX is too much for me and the price too.

Well you wanted future proof... a 1080Ti will be fine for your use than. Slap a decent OC on it and you're good to go.

GTX 1080 is good for 1440P as well. It also capable of 4k fine, but I don't know how long will it last though for new games demand more hardware resources. In the future, you might upgrade to 1440P maybe?

OP, you have to realize. nothing is "overkill" when you want to future proof yourself. + Higher frames take advantage of the 144hz. It would be dumb to buy a 1070 and expect it to last 5 years.

 

The way gaming is moving you'll need a good card if you want 5+ years. - If you EVER decide to go 4k, a 1070 won't handle it.

If my GTX 970 can last 5 years in 1080P era than GTX 1070 can do much longer. GTx 1080 and up are nice, but GTX 1070/1070TI is a budget future proof

Right now I don't have the right answers for that. lets say I am entering the PC master race. because I only use a laptopever since that have i7 5th gen& 840M graphics. and I want to play any HIgh-end games that I feel.. hmm like Fry Cry series for ex. (and believe me there's a lot of games that I want to play and throw at the pc at max settings for good long years that i will only turn down some settings for lets say 7 years
