Why are my temps so high?

So I overclocked my i7 6700K to 4.6 GHZ at 1.33v. I have a Corsair H100i GTX liquid cooler and at max load on aida 64 my temps peak up to 84 C! Why are my temperatures so high at only 1.33v? At idle my CPU is around 25C - 35C. 

 

HERE IS THE GUIDE I USED FOR OVERCLOCKING.

What speed is the pump running at?

What kind of thermal paste did you use and how much?

What does CPU-Z say your voltage is?

What fans are you using on the radiator?

What case do you have and how is airflow configured?

Skylake (and most other intel platforms) have garbage thermal paste between the IHS and CPU die.

 

Delidding and replacing the paste with conductonaut managed to knock 30C off my load temps when I had my 6700K.

 

As for easier things to try, it wouldn't hurt to remove the cooler, clean off the old thermal paste, and reapply new paste, and reinstall. You can make sure the old paste spread out too so you'll know if you applied the cooler properly the first time around.

 

Also, try increasing the pump speed if its a variable speed pump.

1. Pump is running at 3000 RPM's + at load

2. I used a pea sized amount of artic silver 5

3. CPU-Z says 1.328v (constant no matter how much load)

4. I'm using the default static pressure corsair fans that the AIO came with

5. I have an NZXT S340. Radiator in the front blowing air with two 120mm exhaust. AKA the cpu is getting fresh ambient air, not air from the case.

Up to 1.4v on Skylake is completely safe/fine.

Agreed, but 84C with an H100i and seems like too much something as light as AIDA64, even when taking into account garbage skylake TIM

As for easier things to try, it wouldn't hurt to remove the cooler, clean off the old thermal paste, and reapply new paste, and reinstall. You can make sure the old paste spread out too so you'll know if you applied the cooler properly the first time around.

 

Also, try increasing the pump speed if its a variable speed pump.

I just removed the cooler and added new thermal paste a week ago when upgrading my motherboard. The pump is at it's max performance setting.

Seems like you've done everything right, might be time to try a delid.

What are you talking about? Skylake is perfectly fine at 1.4V for even AVX workloads (and 1.45V if you don't use AVX). 1.33v is not that much voltage.

I really would not like to take the risk of losing my cpu. There must be something wrong with the cooler or something...

Nothing really stands out, other than that I would leave SA and VCCIO at stock when using XMP. Everything else is seems correct.

 

As far as delidding it is really quite safe, as long as you use a tool like the delid die mate: http://der8auer.com/delid-die-mate/

OMG I think the reason why, is because my fans are not actually blowing into the radiators, they are pulling from the radiators!!! for the last ~2 years -_-. This explains why there is no dust in the actual radiator...
