I thought it was shit because

 

  1. I only recognized a few people (Markiplier, how rediculous, the try guys, and that one artist chick (carlie rae or something?) Maybe I'm just out of touch?
  2. They FUCKING BROUGHT UP FUCKING FEMINISM. YOUTUBE IS NOT A FUCKING POLITICAL PLATFORM. "I'm proud of all the women who blah blah blah blah" I'd argue that women are much more popular on youtube than men. If you took a ratio of number of women on youtube / number of people subscribed to women on youtube and did the same for men, I bet women would come out on top.
  3. The rewind is supposed to be a happy, fast paced meme fest with the years most popular trends, instead they interrupted the middle of the fucking video with a slowed down section talking about politics. FUCK THAT. That's not fun at all. Rewind isn't supposed to be something you think about, it's supposed to be "OH I RECOGNIZE THEM AND THEY'RE DOING SOMETHING FUNNY... OH I RECOGNIZE THEM TOO AND THEY'RE ALSO DOING SOMETHING FUNNY. MAN IT'S GREAT TO SEE ALL MY FAVORITE YOUTUBERS IN ONE VIDEO"
  4. Fortnite. Fuck that game. Admittedly yes, it should have been in the video regardless... but not the main focus.

I'm surprised that people are shitting on the video for including Fortnite, and in the same breath hating on it for not including what was really popular on Youtube throughout the year.

Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of reasons why YouTube Rewind 2018 is bad. Everything from obviously missing a lot of the big events (PewDiePie, Logan Paul, KSI, Shane, etc) to the really bad "let's grind the video to a halt to talk about how great women and minorities are!".

 

Including Fortnite, which is possibly the biggest trend in 2018, is not a reason to hate.

Fortnite should have been included in Rewind 2018. It completely belongs in there.
