Yeah I realize 1200 is way overkill, and after looking around I think a found a good candidate to replace my current CPU (see below).

Specs are:

PSU CoolerMaster G750M (tier 4, carried over from old build and sometimes makes a strange noise)

X370 Taichi

Ryzen 1700 OC'ed 3.9ghz (looking to drop in a zen 2 cpu next year)

2x8GB DDR4 3600 kit @ 3466 + tightened timings

MSI 1070 Gaming X

M.2 970 EVO 500gb (boot drive)

Samsung 500gb EVO (games)

+ 2 random harddrives

How about this one:

SEASONIC Focus Plus 650 Platinum 650W

https://ipon.hu/shop/termek/seasonic-focus-plus-650-platinum-650w/1598751

38490 Ft/ 119 EURO / 135 USD

Yep, good PSU.  Grab it.  You obviously want a Seasonic PSU, that's a good unit.

Hi Friends,

I'm looking for a new power supply because I don't really trust my old tier 4 CM PSU anymore, it's pretty old and made some weird noises this morning. Now I was just browsing around and I came across this (see image). Currently located in Hungary, 53000ft is about 163.98 Euros or 180 US dollars.

Is this a good deal? It would be total overkill for my system but if it's good quality it'll last a long time no? If its supposedly of good quality why does it have a failure rate of 6.5%?

If it's overkill and you're questioning the high failure rate, why even consider it? It's not even cheap.

You need a sub $100 PSU at best.

well, a 6,5% rma rate is a little high on a psu as far as I know. NEVER buy on brand. and btw, seasonic had some problems recently, not sure if they are solved yet. Or this might just be that revision. 1200 watts is overkill exept if you're going to run overclocked vega founders in crossfire with an overclocked treadripper

No thanks, don't need any help, was just hoping I found a good deal or something. I wouldnt mind getting an overkill PSU if it was gonna last me ages, that's the only reason I was wondering about this thing.

A good 550w PSU will last you ages too, don't confuse price and power with quality.

There's a difference between quality and wattage. A godd 3000 watt psu isn't going to last longer than a good quality 450 watt psu

You don't need a 1200W PSU, and I would not recommend you buy a 1200W PSU, it's a waste of money.

What is your current PSU?

What is your specs?

I would probably just get a Be Quiet Pure Power 11 500W.

You don't need a 650W supply either, 400W is plenty.
