Are this temps ok ?

So i run a stress test because i had problems with my cpu overheating in battlefield 5, then i realized my gameboost was on in the bios. Now that i turned that off, are this temps ok or do i need another cooler. ATM i have the stock ryzen 5 2600 cooler. The rest of the pc is Sapphire vega 56, 2x8Gb g.Skill Aegis 3000mh ram, MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard, Kingston SSD and a bequiet 650W PSU.

Technically: Yes,
Practically, No. You should resolve that CPU temp. Take your side panel off, if that gets you better temps you need a better case or more fans. You want to max out at 70

it's fine imho, if 80's too high for you you can lower the voltage to 1.2v, that should be enough to run 3,7ghz on a 2600 and lower the temps.

Yeah get a new cooler? I mean that seems like a really big oversight with your system. Its like some dude just spent $40,000 on a new sports car and put used tires on it. Hyper t2 evo if you have room, if you still have money just buy a liquid cooler for $50

well, 82 is just a little too high. aftermarket coolers are 30 bucks, why not get one?

The stock Ryzen coolers are fantastic, and fair for even a little overclock. OP shouldn't have to buy a new cooler

i second this, telling him to get a new cooler is feeding him the wrong info and potentially wasting money. dropping it down to 1.2v will lower the temps if 85C is really a problem (debatable)

I mean...they are "fine", but they are just single tier cooler. Just because it comes with a ryzen doesnt mean the laws of thermodynamics dont apply. larger size, more fins, bigger fan = more cooling. No way around that.

Of course, I'm not saying that its the be all end all of coolers.

I'm mentioning that the stock Ryzen coolers are great, and OP definitely doesnt need a new cooler unless theirs is faulty. The stock 2600 cooler should keep the stressed processor at < 75c without an overclock.

Ok so i was reading on the internet that the stock cooler is good enough, even for overclock. But this is kinda hot for me. I mean this test was WITHOUT the sidepanel. The pc is open. I was thinking about buying the Cooler Master 212, but its too big for my case. on the box of my case it says max height 15,5. So i was thinking about the Artics Freeze 33 esports. Its 14,99 cm. Maybe the thermal paste i bought is not good enough ? Idk...

the freezer 33 esports one has thermal paste pre-applied. just clean your old paste off, and you'll be fine. If you want to overlock, aftermarket coolers work great imo

Have you tried remounting the cooler? What rpm is your fan running at?

If you were to get a new cooler I would definitely go with the esports.

Did you take off the thermal paste on the stock cooler before applying more?

First i bought a B350 Mobo that was Ryzen 2000 ready, instaled everything just to realize that it is not 2600 ready... So i bought a new Mobo and new paste (Metal Oxide Thermal CPU Paste)

Never used or heard of the compound so I can't say for sure how great it is.

Did you apply enough? Have you tried remounting the cooler?

Well when i was playing fortnite and stuff i had like 55 degrees temp and i tought everything was fine. Then i played Battlefield and in the midle of the game my pc turned off. I tought its the temp and i was right. I left it to cool and took off the fan because i tought i put too much paste. Then i put just a bit less and turned the pc on without the side panell and turned the Game Boost option off in my BIOS. This is where im at now. Thinking of buying the Artics Freezer 33, its only 30€. Or should i lower the voltage of the CPU ? Am i going to feel it in games ?

Did you clean off the old paste beforehand? On both the cpu and cooler?

What's the voltage at now?

the whole point of buying ryzen over intel is to skip the cooler and save money, it won't take you too long to at least try 1.2v, if your motherboard has offset voltage only, try -.05v

I would turn the voltage down to 1.2v or below, and if the cpu is unstable drop the clocks a teeny bit (unlikely but still possible).

Try a different thermal compound, application, and/or mounting direction. Try something like MX4 or Arctic Silver 5, which cost only a little bit more than generic paste but performs better. Try the X method if you did the dot previously or vice versa. Try rotating the heatsink (not the fan) 90 or 180 degrees and remounting it that way. These are all things that might help.

If the cpu is still too hot either get a new cooler or a new cpu :P
