Which Cherry switch is quiet?

Guanzo

I need quiet switch for gaming and typing keyboard. I heard aluminium plate keyboards are louder is this true? Like Corsair keyboards.

I bought K95 Platinum with Cherry MX Speed it's loud as hell i'm disappointed and returned it.

CM Masterkeys Pro S is fine for typing and less louder?

Cherry MX Browns are pretty quiet, while still having good tactile feedback.

If you want a silent keyboard, get one with silenced switches. CM doesn't have any with silenced switches, afaik.

Some silenced switches are the Cherry Silent Red/Black, Zilents, Topre or Matias Quiet.

:)

I heard Silent switches not good as Blue and Browns they feel like membranical.

I'll try Browns if i not like it i'll return.

I wouldent call them good. They just feel like a grainy mx red to me. The tactile bump is really weak and unsharp.

Try Zilent switches they're the best silent switches imo, a lot more tactile than mx brown and is a lot quieter and smoother.

Mx silent isnt too bad, but there is a bit of reduced travel and slight mushyness when you bottom out but inst that bad imo.

And membranical or what ever its called is a stupid term since that would refer to something like a model m (uses a membrane and bucking switches and feels pretty noice) and a cherry my keyboard (Discrete switches on membrane which feels like absolute shit and should be burned)

But the OP wants a quiet keyboard.

And Browns feel sharp according to me (and I've used MX Blues before).

1- Metal/Aluminum back plates dont necessarily make it louder, and tbh I wouldn't buy a keyboard that doesn't have a metal backplate (unless its a hhkb).

2- The loudness of your k95 is most likely due to it being a floating switch design and its thin caps which make it sound pretty loud and high pitched.

I would recommend the leopold fc900r with mx silents. The leopold is a really quiet board due to the silenced switches, a dampening mat and thick caps and is built like a tank as well.

Do you recommend Logitech Romer-G switches? I wanted to buy Logitech Pro keyboard.

Mx brown ain't quite, and clearly you haven't tried any good tactile switches like zealios, holy pandas or box royals.

Romer g feels like shit imo (I've only tried the tactile ones tho). And they use a weird keycap mount and the caps on the board are pretty shit. They sound kinda loud as well but sound a bit more bassy.

Are you saying there is no quiet gaming and typing switch.

I'll stick with membrane...

I'll stick with membrane...

1 - There is no "gaming" switch, its really just personal preference. Most "gamers" like light linear switches. A good silent "gaming" switch would then be mx silent red.

2 - Why would you ever want to game on a membrane. Membranes =/= Rubber domes. Rubber domes systems like topre are fine for gaming as they can register halfway thought the key press and have native n key roll over since they're capacitive in nature. Membranes are the sensing method to register switches, most membrane boards use conductive domes and register only when it bottoms out and many membrane boards only have 2 key roll over.

Cherry MX Silent Red.

Like mine, Ducky One 2 Mini MX Silent Red. Not that red though, it's more like pink.

Personally I love em. It’s really up to you though, I’d say go to a Best Buy near you to try em out.

Who needs fancy graphics and high resolutions when you can get a 60 FPS frame rate on iGPUs?

Leopold has them too, they have the most silent implementation of it imo.

The MX Silent switches will be the quietest ones but they can be hard to find in the UK at a reasonable price as far as I can tell. I went for MX Browns becuase they have the tactile feedback of the blues without being as loud. I really like mine and I've not had any complaints from my next door neighbour yet (I live in student halls with thin walls) and I play games well into the night sometimes.

I have them in the Cooler Master Masterkeys MK750 but if you want a tenkeyless design then I think CM do some other keyboards with MX Browns

Ducky One 2 is only 99$ and better quality than either of those.

My main keyboard is a Ducky One with MX Blacks. Not cheap, but I've never used a better keyboard

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

Wall Of Fame (Informative people/People I like): @Glenwing @DrMacintosh @Schnoz @TempestCatto @LogicalDrm @Dan Castellaneta

Silent silent i know there are like rubber bands for the keyboard for doing the keycaps do less noise and i know there are silent cherrys mx, but i use a red mx and they are pretty good for gaming, not typing.
