Cant install os on new ssd(locked bios)

I recently bought samsung 970evo to upgrade my laptop but when i went for fresh windows install i realised i have locked bios. Now i cant change boot order and im scared to use data migration software to clone os from hdd because i saw some people say u will need to go in bios to change boot order.

 

So now ssd is just sitting in my system along side 1tb hdd feelsbadman. 

 

What are my options will i fck up something if i try to clone os on ssd? Will it always try to boot from hdd?

Got a friend's PC? You can put the hard drive into a desktop PC, pull the data, then fully wipe it. Put the SSD in the desktop(after installing Windows), move all important data, then you're done.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

Install SSD

 

Clone the drive.

 

Take out HDD.

 

Only 1 boot option remains, so see if it boots. 

 

Then format the HDD and put back in.

 

Still only 1 boot option.

 

Done.

Yes.  As long as you don't format the HDD of course.

why is the bios locked? you put a supervisor passphrase on it and forgot?

Ok so migration went ok but now my ssd partition look like this is this normal? And do i need now to format hdd from other pc or can i buy usb adapter and do it from mine?
