IPS monitor BurnIn?

Origami Cactus

Recently i've started to notice some burn in occuring on my now 2 year old IPS monitor.

When i have a stationary image open for a few minutes, and then move a gray background over it, then you can clearly see the image still remains as a ghost.

It is temporary, the ghost disappears in a few minutes, Is it something i should worry about? Is my monitor dying?

Here is a video https://youtu.be/u-iQz_rLhfw

In the video i have desktop open, and then i move a gray picture in front of it. It is not transparent picture!!!! Also the effect is even more noticable to the human eye than to the camera.

Monitor is LG UD27 58-B.

EDIT: I did some testing and 1 minute is enough for the stuff to burn in for 2 minutes.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

Afaik LCD displays cannot experience burn ins. It could be the panel struggling to change its polarization due to its controller.

Yeah i just learned that it is called "image retention" but my question still remains:

Is this because my monitor is dying? Should i send it to warranty? I havent noticed this happening before now.

If it's still under warranty you probably should.
