This video could have been just a minute long. Basically, there's liquid. But the liquid evaporates really easily. So capturing on camera is near impossible. I'll stay with jerryrigeverything for mobile related videos

I thought of a very curious thing while Linus was explaining the condensation and evaporation of the fluids inside a heatpipe - and I believe it'd be worth a video ... maybe?

In your everyday tower PC, you'd have your CPU effectively mounted vertically (as Linus was holding one in the video). Does that not screw it's performance? You'd have half of the heatpipes hanging lower than the CPU - so the fluid would have to flow.... down when heated to get cool?

I currently own zero fluid coolers so I can't investigate - would that be something you guys might pursue ? I'm quite curious to know if there'd be any difference in performance. In the past I've always had differences between separate cores temperatures - could that be why?

I can tell you, its a cell phone or in your case, a landline phone that is watercooled. More investigation is required because we need to know the coolant capacity of the cooling lines. I am sure you investigated it all. Since if it was a cell phone or a mobile phone is different from a landline phone, but the term phone could be used for either or. But the click bait title is a fail.

 

Title of the video is different then the post. Smartphone vs phone, a major difference, but hey quality is quality. I see lots of time and care was taken to post up the video into the forum, for more clicks and discussion.

If the water vapor in the vapor chamber/heatpipe could remove heat from the motherboard BEFORE the smartphone reaches 'critical' temperature, that'd be great...

 

A Heatpipe and Vapor Chamber is the same thing? Asus ROG is Vapor Chamber. 

New flagship phones are freakin fast. Until they thermal throttle to protect the battery at 45C+. That's why my next phone will have an 855 in it and heatpipe/vaporchamber cooling apparatus.
