Display - Suttering or Tearing?

System:

- 1440p (60 - 75 Hz)

- 2080 Ti

- R5 2600

- Using HDMI 1.4 (It's supposed to be more than enough)

 

(I have all my drivers updated, besides BIOS)

 

It's weird, on 60 Hz my monitor its smooth, but as soon as I put it on 75 Hz it just jumps a bit, besides looking smooth, I don't know how to explain my self, that doesn't happen only in games, it happens in general, I was testing it by scrolling down on YouTube and the video thumbnails seem to jump a bit.

 

I'd like to add that on NVidia Control Panel in the Refresh Rate dropdown menu I don't get the option for 75 Hz, any idea why? I had to set 75 Hz through a custom resolution.

 

What could be causing this?

some game do stutters in higher framerates, like farcry 5. try another game or benchmark.

This happens in general, not only in games.

 

On NVidia Control Panel I don't get the option for 75 Hz, just through a custom resolution, that seems odd, could it be that I have to use DisplayPort?
