Adding a Storage Drive

I would turn off your pc. I turn mine off anytime I work on the components. I do the same for the PSU just in case I bump the power button. If you turn off the PSU switch you don't need to unplug the PSU from the outlet however if you feel more comfortable in doing so id do it. I recommend never working on a powered on pc because if you are using any tools you risk shorting your board. Hope this helps.
