Adding a Storage Drive

Hi P
Go to solution Solved by zconflictz7,

I would turn off your pc. I turn mine off anytime I work on the components. I do the same for the PSU just in case I bump the power button. If you turn off the PSU switch you don't need to unplug the PSU from the outlet however if you feel more comfortable in doing so id do it. I recommend never working on a powered on pc because if you are using any tools you risk shorting your board. Hope this helps.

My PC has a single drive and I'd like to add another, I know how to connect it and all that but I was wondering if I need to do the following:

- Turn off the PC

- Turn off the PSU switch

- Unplug PSU from the outlet

Then add the drive, do I have to do all that?

Thank you
