What will I need for stable 4K Streaming?

Just wanted some opinions before I make these purchases. I just got a 4K Roku TV (TCL 55R617) and a 4K Firestick.

 

I already have Prime Video and Netflix but those are pretty limited so I plan to use Kodi for most of my movies. I have always used wifi and while the buffering has always been a minor issue,  4K movies are pretty much unplayable due to the buffering (I think).

 

I figured it is time to plug into my Ethernet cable instead of wifi. A few people told me that I needed to buy a few things to accomplish this:

Just looking to be sure that this is accurate. Will I need all of these items? I already have a Modem and a Router so I am not sure why the Gigabyte switch or even the Ugreen adapter is needed.

 

Also how are these brands and prices? If there are some of these out there that are clearly better I would be willing to pay a little more.

I get 4k streaming off my wifi from the modem direct to the Roku Ultra.  No buffering, but my wifi speed is 240-250Mps.  

 

You should have no issue with 4K streaming to that TV as long as you have over 25Mbps.  

 

You shouldn't need any of that stuff.

Thanks, it did seem a little overkill to get all of that. Just wanted to be sure. Planned to try it this way first but need to snake a cable through my wall to be able to try.

yea you should be able to stream 4k with a decent router....try using the 5Ghz channel instead of the 2.4.
also what router are you using? can it even support the speed needed for 4k content?

a wireless g does 54Mbps (this is ok but if a lot of people are using the same network it can cause slow downs)
