How Did You Get with Your Girlfriend (or Boyfriend)?

As much as I want to, I will probably never get a girlfriend. I'll quite antisocial (although many social situations get me very hyper), and besides I am way too quirky and weird; Not to mention insensitive and argumentative.

Too long of a story but the short of it is that we found each other because of memes. Were close friends for like 2-3 years and then due to certain events things happened to where I happened to be single (About 5ish months ago). Then after a bit of desperation on my end and a bit on his. Something clicked and welp. Here we are today . Hell he changed me into welp what my title says . I intentionally left a crap load of blank spots for a reason (Tad too personal to get into the details) . 

 

 

Heres something that describes that desperation on my end that I mentioned

14 Years old - I went to a Center Parcs holiday park and helped this girl that was struggling to get her fencing armour on, and she helped me with mine

Later coincidentally met her (and her boyfriend of the time lol) at this high ropes activity and I asked if I could join them since they were the only similarly aged people there which they seemed super happy about. 

Her boyfriend was actually the one who suggested we stay in contact and so we swapped emails/numbers and so following that we chatted every day on MSN / Skype / Texting / Online Games and I flew over to visit for two weeks every year for 10 years (she had broken up with her boyfriend by year 2) 

23.5 Years old(ish) - We were watching a TV series together while cuddling, which was pretty normal for us but then I went to hold her hand, not sure why, then I kinda sorta developed feelings for her.

I kinda became self-conscious of my feelings and was worried if I told her that I'd ruin this amazing best-friendship we've had for 10 years! 

She noticed I was acting different and pretty much demanded to know what was up with me so I told her and as it turns out she had feelings for me too!

We planned a holiday together and had our first official date at Disneyland Paris.

I manage to get a job over where she lived and stayed with her and her parents saving up money to buy a house

24 Years old - We buy a house together and finally establish our independence!

26 Years old - I propose to her at our favourite steak place and she accepted  It was tough getting the engagement ring, I had to get help from her dad to keep her distracted for part of a day while I went out with her mum looking at engagement rings, turns out the one I liked most was the first one I saw haha

We wanted to have our wedding as soon as possible as we were concerned that some elderly relatives may not be able to make it so 6 months later we had our wedding; it was probably smaller than other weddings but it was amazing :')

Weird thing, I met my girl back in 2005. I was 16 at the time and the very first moment life introduced me to her was being yelled at by her for beating up her then boyfriend. Turned out we had some mutual buddies and after stumbling upon her from time to time, we somehow went from hating each other to dating each other as youngsters, underage. 14 years later we are still together, have a almost 5 year old daughter and all signs seem we will stay this way  Can't wait to tell my grandchildren about their grandma and grandpa meeting, when they future arrives

give up on love, find the hottest CPU instead which can't reject you and maybe provide for a better future / profession / skillz than lovers do

or maybe they come some time when it's time for them to come, so in meantime focus on the things that make you come to life

 

starts with an idea, ends with creation. the belief that we need something/someone disempowers, but if we focus on what's possible ..life begins XD

Dating app -- yes, you can get long-term relationships out of those. 

 

We're both geeky in our own ways, and we hit it off pretty quickly (even before we met in person).  We were all modest and proper on our first date (handshakes and hugs) but later discovered that we would've been making out if we'd each known what the other was thinking!

We had crossed paths at a bar but another guy was hitting on her hardcore.

I invited her to a Halloween/Bon Fire party I was hosting the next week.

She came (2 hours late). Party was .. BIG .. 100+ (I got a keg but everyone kept bringing their own booze. People left a lot of it too .. haven't bought liquor in about 4 months lol)

Found her (dressed as Freddy Kruger) being hit on by yet another guy.

I usually have to make a deliberate and planned effort to meet women. Usually it's over the internet (I used Facebook, Tinder, Badoo, etc. over the years), or approaching them in a club, a party, or at a festival. Sometimes we're introduced by mutual friends.

 

During the past 2-3 years, however, I started getting into these situations where stuff just happens to me without me having to put in any real effort. I think it comes with age. Mostly these women are low quality/crazy, though.

Been with her ever since (Im 34 now, we have 2 kids, and an amazing relationship...kids look like the mailman but whatever ).  Shes 10x better than me.  The story is as amazing as it reads.  We found out we lived 4 miles apart as the crow flies and...its been love at every sight!

My Little Pony livestream back in 2012, had fun chatting to each other on it, exchanged Skype (yes that old) information once Live Stream was over... talked about MLP and other stuff for years, started to play games together, watch animes, Roleplay as ponies, to ERP as ponies... finally met in real life... kept seeing each other more... now we're engaged.
