Wifi is dead slow. Ethernet is not.

On my PC(ethernet) I get about 60-80mbps down 10-15 up with 10-15ms depending on the day

On my phone andor laptop it can be slow enough to wait 15seconds just to load the page and then 5-10mbps down and miserable results in the other areas.

 

Router is a DIR 822 and the wireless adapter version/brands seem to be irrelevant. 

 

I feel like I'm missing something, questions/thoughts?

How far are you from the router? Are there other wifi networks nearby?

Hello this is tech support, have you tried restarting your devices.

But no serious restart the wireless adapter and router, how far are you away from the wireless signal.

sometimes a reboot of anything can do wonders

sitting next to the router connected to 5GHZ, no other networks nearby.

change your dns to opendns or google (8.8.8.8) open network propery -> adapter property -> change ip4 configurations -> change custom dns to dns1 : 8.8.8.8 dns2 : 8.8.4.4

is the signal at full bar?

when you opened the network interface status, how much is the connection speed?

DNS is already set to that signal bar is full

so many things can cause issues, its wifi

do you have something to read the signal strength? like a phone or tablet

 

how many devices are connected? how many of them are wireless?

have tried temp changing the ssid/password and only connecting the device that is having problem?

 

 have been dealing with a lot of wifi issues lately. if still having issues try unplugging stuff like android boxes or other things.

There are 9 devices connected, 8 are wireless. I will try isolating the problem later today.

can be a pain, try a different channel, is the router on the most current FW

 

this could be a good LTT video, how to possibly solve your wifi issues.
