Need a alt OS that is not Linux, Windows or MACos

For almost all linux distros you can use a tool like etcher.io to put the ISO on USB

Most modern installers can detect wifi cards, if you don't use ISO's marked NET- you don't even need internet for the install.

In desperation tried Android x86 but hen I try to boot it I just get Windows... HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?! O3O

Status update: Android x86 works perfectly its just Ubuntu as far as I am aware, I may try to get another SSD and try another Linux install over Ethernet later but for now Android + Windows is de wei! O3O

It could have IOMMU disabled in it's kernel so thats probably the reason, I could compile an Ubuntu kernel without that support tho if you still want to try 

 

afaik that's the reason for your USB issues

May i ask what is your Hardware????, Fyde Os, is Chrome os boosted with android os and linux. for alternatives there is not much. get with windows if you want best performance. Windows 10 dosen't need a key to run and it does it all.... if your into phone apps you can also get memu probably the best Android Emulator ive used.

Yeah I will try Android x86 for now, also I do not need Bluestacks in Windows anymore so yay more games there!

FydeOS? Never heard of it, is it stable Android x86? Is it using Linux kernel or something else?

if you want something that is not linux than unix is what linux is based on so therefore a different type of os.

Android x86 is what I am sticking to since it actually works, until it stops working or fails then I will re-start my OS hunt.

Anyway I just checked android x86 linux kernel config and as I expected doesn't have IOMMU drivers loaded, you could build a linux kernel with that config on Ubuntu too...

oh you say you want something that isnt one of the big 3, well i would say reactos is too similar to windows, and BSD is too similar to linux since they are both UNIX and POSIX compliant, so i would say, TempleOS. 

Also for anyone who is saying things like chromeOS, android x86 and steamOS, those are all linux. Also i dont see why you cant just use some form of linux, or some other POSIX compliant OS.

Most free OS's, inluding ChromeOS & Android, use the Linux kernel

Some use BSD & other Unix variants

ReactOS is a reverse engineered windows

HiakuOS is similar, but using BeOS

SkyOS was original, but is long dead

Genode is original and active AFAIK

IOMMU should been possible to disable during install in my opinion... =3=

that's a driver is loaded automatically so unless you don't remove them manually is not possible..
