Where to buy cheaper, used SSDs?

What's a good place to buy older, used 2.5" SATA SSDs? They need to be reliable, so I was thinking maybe refurbished? Do any manufacturers directly offer this type of deals? Is it actually a good idea to buy used SSDs? I was thinking to go for an older range as well since I want this for an older build, so it doesn't need to have top of the line specs (eg. 840 Evo Series). I initially thought eBay, but I wasn't sure whether it was a good idea...

Not for reliable storage.

Cause ssds have no moving parts they become woren out in diffrent way after usage (manufactuer usualy puts amount of data that can be rewritten). So i am not sure that buying used ssds is the best choice

Buying ANYTHING used has inherent risks, depending on how it was used, for how long, etc.

 

Is there anything different than me selling you my 500GB 750 EVO I've had for a year vs you buying a new one and using it for a year?  No.  

 

The problem with SSD's that I see is that they're so cheap that it doens't make a lot of sense to buy used, where a 1tb drive is $127 and 2tb is $209.  Maybe see if you can get 500GB drives for under $50 used shipped?

Seller repute has nothing to do with item quality. They may deliver, but the SSD itself is of questionable longevity. At least with a new one you have warranty and a good promise of condition.

Prices are pretty low on ssds these days, I don't see a reason to go used.

muh specs 

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

a black friday or cyber monday, or just temporary sale isn't permanent and I don't think using that as the reference price is a good idea. This is kind of a nitpick but, because you did this someone assumed the wrong ssd.

The new Samsung 860 QVO range is to be released December 16th which is to be a budget SSD :)

Plus Samsung is a pretty good make as far as I'm aware

i think now it the best time to shop for SSD (because of the sales). I changed HDD to ssd long ago and never regret it!

Its still $75 which is only $10 more than the cyber monday price...

SSD will drop prices anyways, at the end of 2018 newer models can be found sometimes for lower prices than lots manufactured previously. That has been reported by several users and the main reason is the overproduction of NAND chips, so you can expect prices to continue to go down throughout the next year. Some market analysts even believe they will go as low as the same prices of an HDD.
