Hello, hi and thank you for popping in. I will try to explain the structure of my home first and then the problem. January 3rd I upgraded to 5G (expected 500-600Mbps)on our home Interwebs. The unit that is now outside our house is ZTE MC7010 5G. From the 5G unit I get a cable inside the house that goes into one of my TP-LINK Deco P7-units (got 3 for meshing the 2.5floor house). From P7 I have a cable going into TP-LINK TL-SG1005P V2 in the side attic (PoE unit that powers my 2 Reolink 410's outside). From PoE I have cable running downstairs into TP-LINK TL-SG108E. From 108E I got a line going to my PC, my printer, 2x going to my NAS, living room TV PC. So I got lines trough the house and WiFi mesh for phones/tablets. But there is an clitch in the Matrix. Speedtest.net or Netflix's Fast.com I get 50Mbps:ish. Now it'll get interesting (at least for me).. Remember how I mentioned that the first step is my P7 mesh main unit? It has an app for phone. Open the Deco app on my phone > Test Internet Speed (and at the same time, running speedtest again on my PC) Speedtest.net or Netflix's Fast.com I get now 500Mbps:ish So my question is... Why do I need to tickle my P7 to get my internet speeds up to what they actually are supposed to be? Trying to figure out if it's something at my end or is this a call for my service provider to do their magic... I'm lost

I'm not good at writing, but my purpose of writing this piece is: The Axon 7 is a great phone, not even considering its literally HALF (if not more) the price of many popular devices out there. Here's why I believe so: (TL;DR is at the bottom) These opinions are my own, and are likely biased because of my frustration with Samsung and the fact that this phone is only $400 USD. As did Linus, I came to the Axon 7 from the Galaxy S7. So far, the phone has performed very well after some tinkering*. While I do miss the S7's waterproof capabilities (I miss being able to toss it in the pool to watch friends and family members to freak out) I have been able to use my device while using in the rain, in the shower, and so on as I would with all of my other devices. While other reviewers seem to undermine its camera capabilities, in real world use (ie not actively searching for flaws) I've yet to take any displeasing photos of any kind. Shutter speed is the fastest I've ever seen, almost like my old LG G4. The quality of photos taken with automatic settings are superb. This judgement comes from my experience with Android vs iOS camera use. My opinion always was: Android takes garbage slow-mo videos, unlike the Axon 7. While S7 pictures have always been superb in any lighting, its video quality was abysmal unless you had P E R F E C T lighting. Taking random videos of me walking through different lighting scenarios in my flat, or randomly tossing my pen around on my desk in slow-mo have so far been captured in amazing quality on my Axon 7. From my experience with the LG G4, I swore I'd never touch a 5.5" or higher sized device again. I bought this device on impulse, and the thought didn't even occur until I set my S7 and A7 side by side. The lack of wireless charging does not bother me whatsoever. To me, WC was a cute gimmick, but I use my phone enough that I'd lose the same amount of charge if I was bothered to set my S7 down directly on the charger. Personally, the fingerprint sensor works better than the S7. The DOLBY ATMOS thing is obviously a gimmick as well, but I like it. The built in bluetooth module in my car always made audio lacking in sounds, but this software generously compensates for that. The capacitive buttons are not backlit, and when I was initially using the device in the dark, I occasionally hit buttons I didn't mean to. The Axon 7, if you didn't know, is a USB Type-C device. This is my first USB-C device. Buying new cables was sort of an inconvenience at first, but it always boiled down to now or never in my mind. TL;DR: After using a plethora of devices ranging from the Note 7, S7, LG G5, Pixel, I simply mean to say the Axon 7 (and the 3T for that matter) performs just as well as any of the $600+ phones that saturate the mobile phone market. It only lacks a few features that the higher priced devices have (water resistance and wireless charging). This is obviously not an in-depth review. *: The Axon 7 supports the LTE bands that Verizon operates on, but I had to reset my phone after updating to Nougat, and the A7 rarely has a weird "switching from WiFi to LTE once I leave a building on campus or my flat" issue. This is easily fixed with a few quick key dances. (Going into sim settings and toggling the "LTE" setting a few times"). Thanks for reading! I also have an interesting piece I'd like to do on how I replaced my laptop with a Nexus 7 and a bluetooth keyboard if anyone's interested.

I recently bought a blade and used it for a few weeks. Screen looked flawless until I took it camping. After I got home, I noticed a few light scratches on the glass and it annoys me. I read on other forums not to use toothpaste or baking soda, but I am afraid to use any product. I also got references to screen protectors, but IDK what brand to get. I got one tempered glass one but the curved sides of the screen created a halo effect. Any suggestions?

I know i've seen 2 or 3 posts similar to this but oh well... Comparing prices to buy my first ever smart phone (yes. get excited) Upgrading from this: Looking at Australian retail, the Axon 7 launches in Aus next week for $600 at launch. This is comprable to the One Plus 3, which makes sense. Choose what you want to focus on, either sound or ram. pay the same price. Linus said similar in his Axon review. Then, pixel launches, and everyone talks awesome about it. I am about to click buy on the ZTE and decide to check out the other team. The pixel xl sports almost idential hardware to the Axon 7 (according to GSMArena), but retails in australia through JB Hi Fi for a whopping $1400!!! What the actual and absolute heck! iPhone 7 is $1200, so i could get a really good bluetooth headphones TOO for that cost! The specs between the axon 7 and pixel xl are really similar. Both are 1440p amoled displays. both are 4gb rams. Both have good cameras (I expect the pixel to have better software and autofocus, but the zte is f1.8 compared to f2.0) The pixel really delivers through on the camera (trumpeting the "best smartphone camera ever", apparently a weekly prize), while the zte is the only phone since the HTC One m8 to do really good sound, and has "broken the sound test" of some reviewers by being that loud and good! I'd rather go for the sound anyway, and this is the ONLY phone doing anything about it. Meanwhile, every single phone now has a very good camera, so i can forego an outstanding camera. The zte is a snapdragon 820. The pixel is an 821, which by Qualcom's own materal is practically an identical chip, instead "building upon" the 820 and only really improves on "VR performance", which we all know is rubbish on mobile anyway. So i know that because the pixel is a first party google phone, the software will be great. And that's what they want you to think. But how polished can something really get?? Google has always subsidised their first party phones, and they're practically the largest company on the planet now. Seriously, what gives??? What can make a phone cost $1400??? Apple is the benchmark for overkill price, and they're $200 cheaper!! The zte is the same hardware, maybe better, with less great software, for 40% of the cost. Please enlighten me!!

Hey there community, yesterday I ordered some Dbrand skins for my Axon 7 and I am a little afraid about the rounded corners and how easy it will be to apply the skin. Therefore I wanted to ask if anyone has this or a similar rounded device with a skin on it and can tell me about their experience putting it on.

Differences between BQ Aquarius U and U Plus? BQ vs ZTE?
Nervly posted a topic in Phones and Tablets
Good evening, everyone! I've got a coupon of 150€ from a service provider here where I live, which I must use to buy a phone that's at least 169€ and that's available in their store. Seeing as I can't go much over that price, I've got my eyes on the BQ Aquaris U and the ZTE Blade V770 (aka ZTE Blade Velocity or Orange Neva 80). Before anything else, I'd like to know the differences between the BQ Aquaris U and the Aquarius U Plus, besides the difference in 1GB extra of RAM for the Plus. I was told the only difference there was is the lack of fingerprint sensor in the older model (which I don't mind in the slightest), so I'd like to confirm this. Secondly, how does the ZTE Blade V770 (not the V7, they're different apparently) run? I've heard good things from it too but I was also told it is not the greatest phone and that I'd be better off with the Aquaris U. Is ZTE a viable brand? I also know that the BQ brings close to stock Android, which I love, and that it is guaranteed to be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo, which is also very appealing. As for the ZTE, I'm not so sure because there's little information about it online. All I know is that it ships with Android 5.0. I looked up benchmark scores on Geekbench and the ZTE scores between 680 - 703 for Single-Core whereas the BQ Aquaris U scores between 630 - 660 but scores higher on the Multi Score section, with around 400-500 more. Specs wise, I like both, I don't really mind using a 720p screen and I won't be gaming too terribly much, especially not heavy games. I also appreciate the higher battery life on the BQ. Eagerly awaiting your replies!- 2 replies

Hello, I have a ZTE Z812 which I believe has a dead/broken LCD. The phone powers on and the volume rockers are responsive and the speaker still makes the notification noises. The notification dot of color at the top also functions. Just the display only shows all white when powered on. Would this kit work to fix the phone? http://www.ebay.com/itm/182397718541?var=484973222601 Regards, Richard

Hello! I have a ZTE Z812 that has a damaged display (no longer functioning/no function) but would like to pull the photos off of the phone and onto my computer. Does any one know of any way to do this?

I could not see it posted anywhere on the forum so i think i'll write thing or two about that. Yesterday (17.10.17r.) ZTE announced their new smartphone - Axon M which might just be one of the most interesting relase this year. ZTE completly changed their approach to designing smartphones and made an unusual Axon M which is a foldable phone with two 5.2-inch 1080p displays. It can be used in 4 diferent modes: Dual mode, Extended mode, Mirror mode, Traditional mode. In Dual mode each screen can be used idependetlly: In Extended mode they are used as one big 2160p display: In Mirror mode both screens are displaing the same content: And ofcourse Traditional mode name speaks for it self. Axon M features: Quad-core Qualcom Snapdragon 821 runing at 2.15 Ghz, 4 GB of Ram, 64 GB of storage expandable via Micro SD card up to 256 GB, 3180 mAh battery, 20 MP camera capeable of 4k 30 hz. Phone is running on Adroid 7.1.2 (Nugat) In the matter of conectivity : USB type C, Bluetooth 4.2, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2.4 GHz/ 5 GHz And it has 3,5 mm audio jack which is in fact also unusual feature these days... Most common concern which i noticed pretty much across all articles is about its limited battery size. Acording to ZTE the phone will be released in the next mounth in USA and it will be AT&T exclusive at launch. It will launch in Japan, China and Europe latter on. Hello community, I cannot decide what phone I wanna get next because my note 3 just isn't that up to date anymore. So basically I am stuck between the ZTE axon 7 and the new Honor 9. Both screensizes and resolutions are ok and the cameras are a nice bonus but not my main focus. On the ZTE the main selling point for me is the better (because amoled) display and that it is cheaper (around 360-370 €) but the Honor has newer hardware (kirin 960 vs snapdragon 820 ) and the fingerprintsensor on the front. Please give advice

Hello LTT community! I, like many, am finding it very hard to decide on which phone will replace my beloved Nexus 6P. As of yesterday the screen no longer works for some reason and I am thinking that maybe this is a sign to upgrade. I live in Canada and I am with Rogers. The ability to use LTE is really not a concern for me, 3G works just fine. Currently, I am looking at the OP3, ZTE Axon 7, and the Honor 8 by Huawei. I love them all for different reasons and I was wondering what you guys thought would be the best choice. I have had bad user experience with the OP1, but I am willing to give them another shot. Also, any other ideas from the community are of course accepted! Thanks, Jacob

The ZTE Axon7 and Oneplus 3 are both around ~$520 cad, where the baseline Oneplus 3t (64GB) is $599. Naturally I'll wait for some blackfriday sales, but it seems the axon7 and oneplus 3 are pretty comparable, any glaring issues with either?

I have a ZTE ZVX W300 modem/router that my Isp provided and it worked just fine for the last 4 years. but recently i've had an issue with connecting via Wi-Fi in all wirless devices (laptops, phones...) the wirless device connect to the wifi but it shows that there is no internet access while my desktop who is connected via ethernet in working just fine. I read about the Nubia X it solves the notch problem by removing the selfie camera and adding a second screen on the back of the phone. https://www.gsmarena.com/zte_nubia_x-pictures-9347.php Ignoring the specs, what is everyone's opinion on the matter of 'selfie display' instead of 'selfie camera'?

I just stumbled upon an article from Business Insider that uncovered recent court filings from a Dallas, TX district court that alleges ZTE (which was apparently created by China's Ministry of Aerospace) of using its devices to spy on end users. Following some more research, I was also able to find an article in The Sydney Morning Herald that bring up an incident where ZTE bribed officials with literal brown paper bags filled with cash to influence prospected contracts in West Africa. I think it's also interesting to consider the recent tweet from Donald Trump that supports a ZTE expansion into the United States despite his typically hostile attitude towards global trade, specifically with China. I don't know how to express this properly but I don't think of myself as a conspiracy theorist - the allegations appear extreme and it's personally discomforting to think that this could be currently occurring. I'm not absolutely positive regarding the validity of these allegations, which is why court systems and intelligence agencies exist. I do however think that information currently accessible (that I was able to find) is enough to start a conversation regarding ZTE as a company. I especially think that this could be important regarding potential recommendations of their current and future devices that could potentially leave unsuspecting end users to be spied on. I would be really interested if anyone could find any additional information regarding the topic regardless if it supports or opposes what I've discovered thus far. Anyway, I found these articles interesting I hope you do as well.

Hi guys, My nonna used to use a ZTE a while back, but then it decided to get stuck in a startup loop and it broke. I am able to boot it into FTM, and that's about it. The issue is this is what displays.(please find attached a picture) No, I can't get into recovery mode. Just this. What can I do with it? Can I re-install android? Thanks!

The axon 7 has a headphone jack and it has good bezels but the pixel 2 has better software and more support (and better specs) but it doesnt have a headphone jack, worse battery life, and massive bezels. just talking about Pixel 2, not XL

In what can be viewed as a potential follow-up from a previous story (linked below), the US Dept. of Commerce has enacted a Denial Order related to a plea agreement last year concerning ZTE's providing telecomm equipment to North Korea and Iran. This denial order will prohibit American companies, like Qualcomm & Intel, from selling and exporting components to ZTE for up to 7 years. Hot Hardware Article: https://hothardware.com/news/us-bans-zte-from-buying-components-from-american-suppliers-including-qualcomm This would appear to me that it will effectively stop any new ZTE devices from being sold into the American Market at least, however, it will also probably really limit what ZTE can build hardware wise as it would appear they can no longer get any Qualcomm chips for their devices (at least through direct sales). While I'm sure the US market was probably only a small portion of their overall business, the potential loss of American company sales and exports of hardware would seem like a fairly significant issue... US Dept. of Commerce Press Release: https://www.commerce.gov/news/press-releases/2018/04/secretary-ross-announces-activation-zte-denial-order-response-repeated US Dept. of Commerce Denial Order: https://www.commerce.gov/sites/commerce.gov/files/zte_denial_order.pdf UPDATE: In an update to the Denial Order story, Quartz is reporting on an internal report by the Chinese State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) that appears to be fairly critical of ZTE and it's dealings with US Regulators. https://qz.com/1259199/an-internal-chinese-government-report-slammed-telecom-giant-zte-for-lying-to-the-us/ So it would appear that ZTE's leadership might be in some serious hot water at home, but that the Chinese Government will work to keep the company in operation due to potential economic and military security impacts.

Hello community, I just wanted to ask what your update experience to oreo with the axon 7 is. I know that zte used the US as their betaprogram for oreo and promised that for example Germany would get it too in april, but now it's already may and I haven't seen anything from them(everytime I checked for updates it did say that it couldn't reach the server). Maybe they are still fixing bugs but I wanted to ask if someone has more information about the launch. Also there is something strange going on with the zte website and it's forum. Everytime I search for a forum threat it just prompts me back to the main page and it says literally nothing.

https://mobilesyrup.com/2018/04/19/nubia-red-magic-gaming-phone-rgb-lighting/ It's worse than the "Incredible" razer phone in every way it can be, but pre order prices are "Incredibly" low. And did i mention RGB? What else could we ever ask for ? They also mention that apparently Asus is making a gaming phone as well. This one already looks like an ROG product that 12yo will love...

Is there a way to reduce speed of the internet, while connected to WiFi, on my ZTE ZXV10 W300 ? The speed needs to be normal when on Ethernet. I looked at the settings on the web interface, but couldn't provide anything like that I could understand. I don't mind flashing 3rd party firmware as long as it doesn't require a PC just for it. Thank you for you time.

Does anyone have experience using the ZTE Axon 7 on a CDMA network, mainly Verizon? These are the frequencies ZTE claims it supports on its site: GSM/EDGE:B2/3/5/8CDMA BC0/1/10UMTS/HSPA: B2/B5/B4/B1/B8LTE: B2/B4/B5/B12/B13/B17/B7/B3/B1/B20/B29/B30/B25/B26/B412CA: B2+B4, B2/4+B12, B2/4+B29, B2/4+B5, B41+B41, B25+B25 After looking at Verizon's bands, this phone should be perfectly capable. However, I haven't been able to find a straight answer yet. Thanks for any help.
