Hi, I don't know if this forum is the right place, i've tried on xda but no one responds. I have Zenfone 2 ZE551ML, few days ago suddenly my phone can't fast charge (battery is under 20%) i tried restarting the phone, didn't work. Then i started to notice there is no sound anymore (works if i use earphones), then i tried restarting again ended up vibrate is gone too. I know i can just claim my warranty, unfortunately i've already unlocked bootloader which void the warranty. I really looking forward to fix this with my own hands, Thank you.

My Zenfone 2 recently started acting up: It randomly tells me that there is no SIM card installed. The phone is an Asus Zenfone 2 (Asus_Z00AD) Only have a sim card in the first slot. The phone is currently on AT&T. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do besides RMA.

Hello everyone, how are you doing on this lovely week? I'm doing great! I recently bought a Zenfone 2, retiring my old Galaxy Note 2 I had for years. But i'm missing the wireless charging, I've built a whole environment for wireless charging; I had Qi chargers at home, work, girlfriend's house, car and even at college (I sit at the same place every day). The main thing I miss is the airdock I have an NFC tag on it (It's the 1st gen one) and when I put my note on it, it would sync to a bluetooth-aux dongle and start playing music automagically, plus makes it easier for me to follow GPS, use Google now properly and control music. The issue is that I can't use it with my Zenfone 2 anymore. My cat scratched my airdock when i took it out of the car for cleaning it and it wouldn't hold the Note very well by itself, and it needed the magnetic sticker for it to stay in place, and now since the back of the Zenfone 2 is curved it doesn't hold at all, even with the magnetic sticker on. I put my mind to work and the solution i found was to use Magnets (how do they work?)! I had a magnet I took out of a dead HDD to keep screws safe; I broke it in two and placed it carefully between the phone's back and the case I have on it and placed it on the Airdock... and... voilà! It works! The only thing I'm afraid is: Will using these magnets damage my device? I've tested a lot of things and they seem to work flawlessly so far. I tested these: • Wifi • Bluetooth • Call & SMS • Camera • Sound • Vibration • SD Card writing/reading • NFC Anyone can give me an insight in this? Or any ways i could improve this little project? Any input is helpful! Here are some pics! (Ignore the case and marks on the phone, a friend's son made a blue for me and a pink for my girlfriend. I do have a replacement back if I sell the phone)

Are the quality of Asus phones any good?

Ok, I'll try to keep this short... I may have done a stupid thing...I may have uninstalled the Google Play app. "But wait, just download the APK from the interwebs" Tried that, it just booted to a white screen before crashing. I am completely open to suggestions since my phone is pretty much unusable at the moment. I have an Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML if that's of any help And don't forget, Vote For Turnip

I was originally quite excited about this device with Linus' CES coverage, but ASUS has made it difficult for me to maintain that excitement with very little solid information about the phone's release. Fortunately for me, I was able to win a free review unit from ASUS through a special giveaway contest. They're supposed to ship it soon, and I'll post a review on the forum once I get my hands on it. According to Taiwanese media Eprice.com.tw, Asus today announced the Zenfone 2 128GB variant, with 4GB of ram, will be available in Taiwan on this Thursday, for TWD 11990 (~$388). This should be the first Android phone to come with 128GB built-in storage. This should be one of the a few smartphones featuring a 128GB built-in storage. The official spec of this variant has not yet be revealed. But according to another Taiwanese media Sogi.com.tw , this variant is still under the model number "ZE551ML", just like other Zeonfone 2 4GB ram variant, thus the spec should be the same as other 4GB variant, with the only difference on the storage capacity. It seems Asus is not satisfied with the 128GB version of the Zenfone 2, as they have just revealed a 256GB version in a media event in Brazil, called "Zenfone 2 Deluxe Special edition". The Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe Special Edition in Textured Black (L) and Illusion White ® This special edition comes with an exclusive version of racing game Asphalt 8, and two new back covers, which are Textured Black with red, and Illusion White with red accents. Hi guys, I need your help. I'm a student from Czech Republic and I really want Zenfone 2. Unfortunately Zenfone 2 is still not available in my country in spite of being teased several times! The only option now is to preorder and the ZF2 ze551ml (4GB RAM, 64GB ROM, Z3580) costs freaking 440 USD. I found the same model on US amazon for 299, but I need help. I want to be sure it will work here in Czech Republic. Hey guys! After many years of using my Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S I decided to finally move on. So, I'm looking for an Asus Zenfone 2 with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage (preferably black but I'm almost giving up on that as my current phone is dying) because that's the version which comes with the 2,3GHz processor. But the problem is I can't seem to find any site which ships to sweden without the price ending up twice as much after shipping. Does anyone know of any website or store that sells this phone and ships to sweden without the price going sky-high? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Anandtech has finally published their full review of the Asus Zenfone 2. On paper, it has some very impressive specs- However, with each of those incredible specs (for the price) comes a caveat. First and foremost, the SOC- it thermal throttles within minutes. However, it isn't new for a smartphone to thermal throttle. Phones such as the HTC One M9 are known to throttle quite heavily. However, it would be nice if all smartphones can be at the level of the iPhone 6 and not throttle at all while delivering excellent performance. Overall, performance is roughly the same as a Snapdragon 801 phone, or a Snapdragon 805 that throttles, and the 5s. Next is the 1080P IPS screen. Out of the box, you are unable to crank the brightness all the way up. Asus locks it to 319 nits. However, if you download apps available on the Play store, you can crank it to the max of 390 nits. The display itself has very middling accuracy, which is fine for the $199 pricetag. However, it makes heavy use of dynamic contrast ratio and contect adaptive backlighting resulting in dramatic brightness shifts when the content on your screen changes. However, there is a reason for this- battery life. The 3000mAh battery may seem great on paper (and also charges super fast), however once again, specs aren't everything. In order to deliver the already poor battery life from being even worse, Asus uses CABC to lower brightness during everyday tasks to try to improve battery life. This signals to me that there's almost nothing that Asus can do in software to improve battery life short of running a governor that prioritizes battery life over a more balanced governor that juggles performance and battery life. With a 3000mAh battery, Brandon expected it to perform roughly as well as the OnePlus One which has the same size screen, resolution, and similar battery size. That wasn't the case. I think the LTE tests may be a little flawed because Anandtech has multiple editors all over North America, all using different carriers. In the beginning of the review, Brandon indicated that he was from Canada, using the Wind carrier. Because of varying signal strength and sometimes carriers having an effect on battery life (T-Mobile delivering better battery life than other carriers in the US), the LTE numbers may vary for different users. Here are the excellent charge time numbers: I'm glad that the author took the time to address the negatives of fast charging- Camera- there's not much to say besides specs don't mean much when the actual performance sucks. Conclusion: Is this a good phone? I would say it is only at the $199 price because at $299, it would be competing against the more rounded M8 that can be had at around $300 for a refurb, or the iPhone 5s which is slightly better due to the less compromising hardware. It's not a phone that you can blindly recommend to your friends and people on the internet. I have been really hard on this phone ever since CES because it is a phone that looks good on paper but will bite you in the behind if you don't take the time to read the reviews and understand its limitations. The experience will undoubtedly improve with software updates, but battery life will probably not improve much, if at all because Asus had to resort to dynamic contrast ratio and contect adaptive backlighting. So I'm looking into purchasing the Zenfone 2 (as a student that doesn't have the money for a Galaxy S5 or S6), and I saw an interesting part of the description on Amazon's page saying, : "This device is not compatible with CDMA Networks such as: Verizon, Sprint, and US Cellular." I saw that the bands for Verizon and Sprint are available for use, but I don't know much else. Any ideas here?

So guys, Im in a need for a new phone cause current one is just..yeah, i've been waiting for the Zenfone 2 since CES 2015 and i saw that i can buy it over ebay.com. I would buy the 1080p version with 2GB RAM and 1.8Ghz processor. Is it a good choice if i order it from Taiwan (which i've seen on a video on yt, il post the link later, that the real Zenfone 2 comes), only thing worrying me is that, im not sure if i will have network and 3G or 4G here, how can i check that?
