I swapped out the SATA M.2 SSD I had in my Zenbook Duo (UX481 running Debian 12) for an NVMe one and now resuming causes the drive to either disconnect or become read only after a few seconds causing the system to freeze/hang. I've tried a bunch of workarounds but nothing has fixed the issue. kernel parameters I've tried: acpi_rev_override=1 acpi_osi=Linux mem_sleep_default=deep iommu=soft acpiphp.disabled=1 pcie_aspm=disabled nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=0 nvme.noacpi=1 Any other ideas? I've had the same problem on a 1TB Intel 660p and now a 512GB Eluktronics branded drive.

Hows it going everyone? So I have an Asus Zenbook 14 OLED q409za. Here's the link to the ASUS product page. I bought it as an open box item and it had burn in on the screen from when it was a demo. The store shipped it off and they replaced the screen, motherboard, and SSD. Well the laptop came with a 2880x1800 resolution screen 90hz refresh rate, but it now has a 3840x2400 60hz screen. I am not sure why the screen is different now. The problem is playing 4k content or even hdr content. I cant get any higher than 1080p on prime video and disney+. I tried some of my purchased 4k movies on youtube and the best i get is 480p. I have tried the cyberlink ultra hd blu ray advisor and it says that I do not have intel SGX, advanced protection audio/video path (gpu). I have tried to find sgx in the bios but cannot find it as an option. I have tried the intel sgx tool it says it cannot enable/activate it. I have gone through all of the windows updates, intel updates, and asus updates. I am at a loss what to do or try. Willing to try basically anything. Hi ya'll I often find myself here when I'm deciding on what to buy next. While I do most of my research by myself, I usually want a 2nd opinion. Currently in the market for a laptop that would be used for programming, 3d design and video editting. I've found myself leaning towards Asus since Macbooks are a bit pricey here and the rest dont fit me (I would however take suggestions). The 2 laptops I'm currently looking at are at the same price with the main difference being that the Zenbook 13 is refurbished and the Vivobook is new. Leaning towards the Zenbook cuz of specs and the crisp OLED but would love to hear ya'lls thoughts. Specs are below: Zenbook i5-1135G7, 16GB LPDDR4X, 1TB NVME Vivobook I5-1235U, 8GB DDR4, 512GB NVME. I guess the Vivobook is an option cuz its new and cuz of the better processor but for my purpose, is it worth losing the additional ram and storage?.

Hi, it's been a while since I've been here. I bought an Asus Zenbook UX535L from Amazon back in late April and it worked great for about 2 months. Since then it's been nothing but a pain. Starting in early July, the ScreenPad 2.0 stopped functioning completely. I had turned it to "touchpad only" with the hotkey before lunch, but when I came back after lunch the touchpad didn't work at all. I did all the troubleshooting possible, but nothing worked. I even followed the official guide from Asus on how to fix it. After a couple weeks of reinstalling windows and trying to install the official drivers, the touchpad started working as a monitor again but it still didn't track. So now I'm stuck with a laptop that doesn't have a functioning trackpad and the USB A port died yesterday, so I have to plug in my USB C dongle just to use my logitech mouse. I'm in school until December, so I can't send it in for warranty until then, but I'm not convinced it won't happen again even if they reload their custom image and send it back to me. If anyone happens to have a magical fix for my trackpad issue, I'll happily take it. For the meantime, if someone could recommend an equivalent laptop (thunderbolt would be nice to keep), I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello, my cousin recently bought a new Asus ZenBook 13 laptop, i was the one to set it up and it was alright for around a month. Lately, she has been telling me that the laptop itself makes some weird creaking sounds. I find it really unusual since i used it and moved it around for about a week and i never noticed anything like that. I have to mention that the laptop was never opened or handled in a way it should not have. The store asked us to send a video and after seeing it they told us to send it .I will attach two videos so that you can see what i am talking about. To sum it up i want to know if it is a common Asus/zenbook problem, if there is some sort of fix and if it is actually worth going through all the hassle of sending it back and waiting mostly because it is her work laptop and she can't really give it away for a big period of time. Should she just return it and opt for some other laptop? Thank you. WhatsApp Video 2021-11-02 at 18.39.04.mp4 1086046900_WhatsAppVideo2021-11-08at18_26_32.mp4

The "GeForce Experience" app says that I do not fit the requirements for Shadowplay and the GeForce overlay: Is this a mistake, its not the end of the world if I can't: I can always use the intel recording feature on my XE integrated it would just be nice for the Nvidia stats. I have the ASUS ZenBook 14 UX435EG.

Hey everyone! I've purchased an Asus ZenBook 14 (UM433IQ) recently (a month back) and I have been encountering some weird issue with my laptop. When I normally use my laptop for a while and close the lid or stay AFK with the screen going off, when I reopen the lid or wake the laptop, the fan goes on full blast without stopping anytime soon (even after hours of using) But when this issue happens, I shut down my laptop and reboot it. Then, the fan stops and works quietly with business as usual. Note: This issue doesn't happen every time, but it appears randomly. Is there any possible solution for this and should I be worried? Or is it a fixable issue? Please let me know. Thanks!

Hello dear tech-enthusiasts... Specs: I have a Zenbook 14 with an integrated Display-Touchpad (Screenpad 2.0). Model / Type: UX434FLC-A5179T Intel Core i7-10510U 16 GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce MX250 (2GB) Intel Integrated Graphics Running Windows 10 Home Situation: So my laptop has two integrated screens. - The 14 Inch Display on top - the small one that is integrated in the touchpad. My Zenbook uses the Integrated Graphics card by intel FOR BOTH displays. The MX250 is not used at all. (It is listed in the hardware-manager, but has no activity in the task-manager, no matter what I do) Goal: My goal is to get the 14 Inch Screen get used by the MX250 and the small Screen to get used by the Intel Integrated Graphics Card. Problem: I cant configure the graphics card individually. I have tried NVidia Control Panel - which does nothing - even if I specifically choose a program and select the nvidia gpu. Disabling the Intel Graphics Card in the Hardware Manager disables the small screen entirely. The small screen is not listed in the hardware manager after that even after rebooting. The BIOS does not show any graphics options, neither Intel or Nvidia GPU is listed in there. I just cant get to configure , which integrated display gets "feeded" by the which graphics card. Can someone help me out? Thank you.

Hey! I'm finally in the market for a laptop and I've been poking around for a bit and I can across the Asus Zenbook 14 and it's in my price range. I have been searching but I can only seem to find 1 skew. I could of sworn I hear people talk about and i7 version or a version with 16gb of ram but I cannot seem to fine one. My budget is around $800 USD and I am a programmer. I also hope to do light gaming like Civ, Starbound, Minecraft. I also use a lot of Photoshop and premiere pro. If anyone has any recommendations for me, I would appreciate it https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-zenbook-14-2-8k-oled-laptop-intel-evo-platform-12th-gen-core-i5-processor-8gb-memory-256gb-ssd-ponder-blue-ponder-blue/6494331.p?skuId=6494331&irclickid=TAYQEcyc2xyLWAL0EkzjZTwgUkD3teQ92XIx0k0&irgwc=1&ref=198&loc=Ultra Media Services SRL&acampID=0&mpid=3266744

The results of Cinebench 23 multicore on a new laptop I purchased have got me thinking how much leeway there is for difference between machines. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be RMA'ing this device because of weird noises it's making, but it also gets a score on Cinebench that is about 2700 points lower than what most reviewers get (I'm getting 7500 in multicore, reviews say 10200, same power profile, same performance profile). How much difference would you say is indication of just normal variance and not an issue? a few hundred points? a thousand?

Long story short I could get the (both 16gb of RAM) Razer Book (i7, FHD, 256GB) for 725€ or the Zenbook 14 (Ryzen 7, 512GB, not clear if it’s 250 or 400 not) for 500-600€. A part of me wants to go for the RB13 because of more ports, nicer build, better display and expandable storage, but the up-to-200€ savings are not something I can just overlook. I’ll be using the laptop for university (programming, taking notes “an i7 for uni? that’s overkill”) for music production (FL Studio) and possibly some light video editing or gaming. Thoughts?

Been looking at some laptops for school and work. atm considering either a thinkpad e14 (i7 10510U, intel uhd 620, 16 gigs of ram) or Asus' Zenbook14 (ryzen r7-3700U, radeon vega 10 graphics, 16 gb ram) and can't decide between the two. Which one should I get?

Hi there! I'm totally new to the site of editing, but i've recently bought a Gopro hero 8 and a DJI Mavic air, to use for creating content for instagram og such. It will be smaller edits about 10 sec to 1 minut. However my old laptop Asus ultrabook Ux305c, can't run any editing software. Therefore i'm looking for a new one. I found the Asus Zenbook 14 UM433DA-pure4, with 16gb RAM + 1024 gb SSD, AMd Ryzen R7-3700U and AMD Radeon™ Vega 10 Graphics. However i can't really find any reviews or other articels that provide me with the information i'm looking for... So i wonder if anyone could tell me if this laptop would suit my needs for the editing, mainly in 2.7k and a little 4k? or do i need a more powerfull one? I don't have the biggest budget, because i'm a student.. thats why i also prefer it in 14" rather than 15.6". If you have any advice on other laptops or questions, then keep commenting!

My friend has a UX21 Zenbook that stopped charging and wouldn't turn on, so she purchased a new UX310 Zenbook last week. This morning the new laptop also wouldn't turn on or charge. We were able to turn it on by holding down the power button for 30s with the charger connected which supposedly discharges the motherboard. It seems so peculiar that a laptop five years newer has the exact same problem. She's used the original chargers for both. Does anyone know what it might be? Could this be caused by power surges even though no one else that lives with her has had issues with laptops/computers.

Hi everyone, I have been looking at purchasing a new laptop, something lightweight and powerful for University/college work, browsing the internet, video streaming, and low setting games with reasonable fps. I have been looking at the ASUS Zenbook UX310UQ and I am not sure if it is the best thing for me or not. The specs are as follows: - 256GB M.2 SSD - i7 intel i7-7500u - 8GB DDR4 RAM - 940MX 2GB intergrated graphics - 2.5"hdd bay for more storage - 13.3" 1920x1080 matte screen I can get this computer for $1600 AUD which is $1230 USD and $1640 CAD Is there a better computer with the same specs for this price or cheaper, or is the ASUS the way to go? Thanks!

Hi! I'm using an ASUS Zenbook Pro UX501VW-FI020T as my daily driver. When I purchased the laptop I opted for this cheaper version because it did not feature the glossy touchscreen. The downside to going with the FI020T version is it's slower and smaller SSD, less GPU memory and of course less RAM. To enhance my laptop some I want to extend the soldered 8GB RAM to 16GB (or 24GB, as I know this is also possible). I've been looking at the G-Skill Ripjaws F42800C18S-8GRS stick, but I'm unsure whether this is a good choice or not. I am also not sure if it is even compatible, though I would think so since it is the same SO-DIMM standard. Any thoughts/help in making a final choice would be appreciated Link to the stick mentioned: http://gskill.com/en/product/f4-2800c18s-8grs PS: I've also read that this model is compatible with NVMe drives, and I was considering upgrading to one. Do you have any thoughts on whether this could boost my performance, or if it would just suck my battery away?

Hi! I recently bought a Asus Zenbook UX310UQK and the touchpad is horrible! It's unresponsive, missing gestures and in general just bad... The laptop comes with some pre-installed app called "Asus Smart Gesture", which isn't any better. The computer also has a driver called Asus precision, it's located under "Human interface devices". Finally the computer has a windows driver called "HID-Compatible mouse". With all my previous laptops I have been able to install Elantech's touchpad driver, which have been working perfectly for me! But I'm not able to install it on my new machine.. I can install the Elan program so it shows in the tab in my touchpad properties, but it doesn't seems to connect to my touchpad at all.. Anybody who has seems this problem before? And is there a solution?

Last year i got an ASUS ZenBook Flip UX360UA for Christmas, for my studies doing both A Level Photography and BTEC L3 Media. I love this laptop but the WiFi is awful, we pay for 152Mbps internet at home, which over ethernet i get between 160 - 180, however over WiFi i only get around 50Mbps max, with my friend getting around 70Mbps at my house (the walls in my house are thick). I'm fine with this but would like more. At school is the worst in some places i barely get internet with my mate getting highs of 10Mbps, and in the best places i get around 50Mbps with again my mate getting 70Mbps. I was wondering what would be the best WiFi card to replace the stock one with as i am tired of getting awful internet both at home and especially at school, or if there was anything i could do to improve speeds.

Hey guys, I am choosing between the Spectre x360 (Spectre website) or the Asus Zenbook Flip ux360ua (the one with an i5-6200u Zenbook website) I need it for school, CAD and media consumption. I would definitely prefer the QHD from the Asus though the HP just seems better. Also the HP is an extra £100 even with the cashback. I would get the Asus from (Zenbook on Amazon) I do have reasons for the flippyness and so far these seem like the best options. Thanks

Hi everyone! I need your help to choose between two computers one is the new Asus Zenbook 3 and MacBook Pro. What's your opinion? I would buy both with the highest configuration so... Which one would you choose? I need an answer please. Thanks!

UPDATE: Think i will test my luck with the new vivobook pro n580vd, it has all the specs i want and it's a brand new model so i hope the quality is good for 1400 eur. UPDATE 2: read the vivobook review=nope. What are your thoughts on these laptop models? They come in almost the same specs, the zenbook being a bit thinner and smaller but more expensive. Am i crazy if i put my money on the zenbook pro model with merely 8gb ram and 256gb ssd? Vivobook: https://www.asus.com/Laptops/ASUS-VivoBook-Pro-15-N580VD/ Zenbook: https://www.asus.com/us/Laptops/ASUS-ZenBook-Pro-UX550VE/ In Sweden: Zenbook: i7-7700HQ, 8GB DDR4, 1050Ti 4GB, 256GB Sata3 SSD @ 1650 eur Vivobook: i7-7700HQ, 16GB DDR4, 1050 4GB, 512GB Sata3 SSD @ 1400 eur Zenbook: i7-7700HQ, 16GB DDR4, 1050Ti 4GB, 512GB PCI-e SSD @ 2060 eur (way too expensive for me) Zenbook: i7-7700HQ, 16GB DDR4, 1050Ti 4GB, 512GB Sata3/256GB PCI-e SSD (would be nice to know pricing for this if there is a model for it) Zenbook dimensions (WxDxH): 365x251x18.9 (mm) Vivobook dimensions (WxDxH): 380x256x19.2 (mm) My thoughts at the moment (no reviews out) Zenbook: + smaller chassis + chamfered edge + backlit logo on back + 1050Ti + comes in black or blue + smaller bezels - 8GB RAM - 256GB Sata3 (if it was PCI-e it would be fine) - 1650 eur Vivobook: + 16GB RAM + 512GB SSD + 1400 eur - not as sexy as the zenbook - from the looks of it, only champagne/golden color - bigger screen bezels
