Hi there! I'm having problems when trying to enable the XMP 2 profile with my new memory. I've recently upgraded from 2x 16GB GSkill 3200 CL14 (F4-3200-C14D-16GTZR) to 2x 32GB GSkill 3600 CL18 (F4-3600C18D-64GTZR) The desktop has an i7 8700K, Asus Rog Strix Z390-E and RTX3080. The Bios Version is 0602 (2018). My motherboard is listed in the manufacturers QVL https://www.gskill.com/product/165/166/1582537336/F4-3600C18D-64GTZR Before upgrading I could run XMP 2.0 profile without issues, when doing so with the new modules the Bios fails on post. It does runs fine at default bios settings or when I try using the XMP2.0 and manually lowering the Frequency to 3200MHZ instead (I'm attaching some captures of CPUZ running with those settings) Any ideas on how to reach the 3600MHZ? Would you suggest trying the XMP2.0 settings for 3600MHZ and adjusting smaller higher values on the Voltage (+1.35V) or maybe upgrading the BIOS to the latest version (there has been several DRAM combatibility upgrades since 0602)? Hello! Could someone please help me with the problem I am troubleshooting? I am trying to start up my computer for the first time, but I cannot get the display output on my monitor, and the VGA led on the motherboard persists. I can not enter my setup BIOS. Initially, I was using the displayport cable through my GPU. Next, I tried the HDMI through the GPU. Still no display output. So, I started searching forums for a solution. I removed the GPU and the case audio peripheral and ran the HDMI cable through the onboard port. Still no display output, and the VGA led persisted. I am using an Asus z390-e gaming motherboard, an Asus Strix RTX 2080 TI GPU, an EVGA P2 platinum PSU, and an Intel i7 8700k CPU. I have been looking for deals and acquiring PC components for several years now, and I have finally embarked on my first build, hoping that it will last me for years to come. I am at a loss as to how I ought to proceed next, and would greatly appreciate any assistance in resolving this.

I have recently upgraded to an Intel I7 9900k and Asus strix Z390-E Motherboard. Before describing the issue i must say that i also had TWO Asus strix Z390-F Motherboards with the same issue - which I returned as I assumed were defective. This is now my third motherboard in a row with the same issue. This can't be a hardware problem right?!The issue I'm having is Ram related. All 4 DIMMS are working correctly as I have tested them one by one on this new Asus strix Z390-E motherboard and on my old Strix x399 Mobo and they all work correctly (I also ran mem test with no detected issues).The Problem is I can only use 3 DIMM Mobo slots at the same time - if I use all 4 the motherboard refuses to post and just lights up a DRAM LED and turns itself off and on in a loop.I have tested all slots individually and all the slots are working correctly. I just cant use all 4 of them at the same Time! Can use a max of 3 slots.Any help would be great! I realy dont want to have to replace a third motherboard and go though all the hassle. And i dont think it would solve the problem either...Things i have tried (in no specific order): Testing each DIMM individually (All work correctly) Testing all DIMM Slots on the motherboard individually (All work correctly so long as i dont use all 4 at the same time!) Re-seating the CPU cooler 4) replacing the motherboardI had the same issue on both of my Asus strix Z390-F Mobos and on my Asus strix Z390-E (The one i currently have)5) Clearing CMOS6) (RECOMMENDEDMY ASUS SUPPORT) -> go into the BIOS > Advanced Menu > APM Configuration, from here set the ERP Ready to Enabled S4 + S5 or Enabled S5 and set the Restore AC Power Loss to Last State and test the motherboard again.7) Enabling XMP8) Updating BIOS9) Using 2 x hyper-X sticks and 2 x G.Skill sticks (Same issue)Specs:I9 9900kAsus strix Z390-E32GB DDR4 G.SKILL Trident Z (2 sets of 2 x 8GB DIMMS) - F4-2400C15D-16GTZRGTX 1080TI (x 2 )NZXT Kraken x521000W PSUSamsung 1TB 970 Evo

Hey everyone, I’m a first time builder and tried to boot my PC up but no display was sent to the monitor, I tried using both HDMI and Display Port on 2 different monitors, neither worked, I then noticed a Green/Yellow ish LED on the motherboard and looked it up, apparently that means there’s an issue with the Boot, not sure if it’s related but I could really use some help on this. (P.S: All Fans and LEDs are spinning/working aswell.)

Hey, I posted this question along with some others in the Build section of this forum yesterday, but have yet to get a definitive answer. Hopefully posting this specific questio heren is okay. I plan on purchasing a custom PC build within the next couple of days and it has been suggested that the parts I've chosen could be problematic. Specifically using these 3 components: CPU: Intel - Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Corsair - H100i PRO 75 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus - ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard It's been suggested that the Asus motherboard has inferior VRM's to be paired with a 9900K and the cooler I have chosen is too small for the processor too. Is anyone able to confirm or dismiss that these are valid concerns? Thank you for any input, I am very grateful. Andy

Can anybody confirm whether or not the asus rog strix z390e motherboard can control the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800) C18 Desktop Memory with asus aura?

I'm currently a senior at university studying geophysics and oceanography. I do work in GIS, numerical modelling, satellite data analysis, and rudimentary data science programs (RStudio/MATLAB). I also would like to be able to set up a DAC for recording/music editing (I already have a DAC w an XLR input) as well as gaming with my friends from back home. Three of my roommates are big PC enthusiasts who have built multiple PC's before and have agreed to help me w a build and as such I would like to get more into computers while also making one such that I will not need to build/buy another until for a while. Currently I have: a used Corsair 750D 3-4 140mm fans Assorted HDD's from older computers an Optical Drive 5.25' and a multi-card reader 5.25' I plan on getting: Motherboard: ASUS Z390-E CPU: Intel i7 9700k CPU Fan: Corsair H110i (or comprable) GPU: No Idea RAM: 32 GB DDR4 (GIS uses a metric s**tload of RAM) PSU: 450-650W Unit? 1. What GPU should I use? (I can upgrade the GPU later down the road) 2. What is appropriate for PSU wattage? 3. I was curious about running a push-pull setup with the Corsair H110i as a top exhaust. 4. Do I need a sound card for the DAC to run into? I'm sure I'll have other questions. Best Regards

Hi guys so i have been using my computer for over a year now but i just came across this issue. i have added more ssd to my computer and i had tor remove my gpu in order to access the slots. now when i start my computer back up i don't get any video output because the mbo is using the dedicated graphics from the cpu. once it boots up into windows everything is fine. is there any way to disable the on board graphics and force the computer to sue the gpu so i can enter the bios and pull a video output through my gpu and not unhook and change the plug every time i want to get into bios.
