Hi, my system is a Z370 platform using a i5-8600k with 32 gigs of ram. (this is an older photo) For storage I've been using a Samsung 970 Evo for my boot drive along with 6 other drives for storage and other stuff. The motherboard has only 6 physical sata data ports and I want to expand it with a SAS Card if possible. The IBM ServeRAID M1015 SAS/SATA Controller LSI SAS9220-8i seems like a good budget option for expansion. My only concern is that of compatibility, does my system have enough PCIE lanes for adding a SAS card? Also are there any other things I should keep in mind when trying to flash the SAS card into it mode? Thanks

Hello friends, I think I'm a little late.. even so, I have a very important query for me. Since I have a z370 mother that a pin came out, and it is a VCC voltage pin, more specifically, (and thanks to this post) I discovered that it is number 26 of the AJ row. Ok, this pin was in contact with the 25th pin (another VCC pin), and the PC went into a reboot loop. My query is if the mother can work without one of these pins, since it has another 4 more online supplying this voltage... and if the contact between two VCC pins can cause a problem in some sector of the motherboard, or in the processor? is that I do not want to ruin either of the two things.. I hope I have not arrived so late that no one has been left, and I sincerely hope that someone can help me with this matter, since I see that there are many people with good technical knowledge on these issues. Below I attach some images of what happened to me

My motherboard: https://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/Z370%20Extreme4/index.asp#Download TB3 card: https://www.asrock.com/mb/spec/product.asp?Model=Thunderbolt%203%20AIC GPU : https://www.palit.com/palit/vgapro.php?id=3883&lang=en Im trying to get display via thunderbolt. The manual for the aic says to connect displayport to the tb3 card and to the gpu, then connect monitors to the dock. Im using this dock: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05913756 But i only get video out of the TB3 when booting (uefi) but when window loads the display goes black and says it has no signal. Ive tried updating firmware on my dock and my tb3 card. What can i do to get this working?

Hi guys, I'm currently working on getting my PC ready for windows 11 and I have enabled TPM 2.0 in my bios (to my knowledge at least), however whenever I check 'tpm.msc' it tells me that Compatible TPM cannot be found. I read previously that this could have to do with secure boot not being enabled, however, I can't find even secure boot in my bios, nor can I find CSM to disable. None of my friends are familiar with this bios so they aren't able to help me. I was hoping someone with knowledge of this motherboard and/or bios may be able to help me with getting this sorted out; since as far as I can tell, my computer does in fact support TPM.

Hi, Ever since I enabled resizable BAR, PC is randomly freezing during gaming with a buzzing sound (no crashes). Tried to force a restart, but PC does not respond instantly. Stability tests, RAM tests etc... all turned out fine. System specs: i7 8700, 16GB RAM, RTX 3080, Z370 ASUS Mobo Anybody else with a similar problem after enabling Resizable BAR?

Hey! Over the past year, I have had rather shady problems with my motherboard. Since I went from 2 pieces of RAM (16gb) and put in 2 more (a total of 32gb) I have had some strange problems with my computer. Started with that one time when I got a little angry and hit the table that the whole computer froze. This then started to happen as soon as I hit the hard table or the computer got a little harder push. (It may be enough to put something a little too hard on top) I thought maybe something in the computer was loose or so. So I tore down the whole computer and rebuilt it just to make sure everything was okay. But then it did not even post, it just restarts. Over and over again... So tested the same process again and the computer starts up. Did not think about it anymore. Then "about six months later" I went on a LAN. So when I get there and try starting the computer, the same thing happens. The computer does not post. So I go home, tear down half the computer and put it back together. But it did not help. So I started testing a the easy things and finally looks up the error code that comes up. Which would have something to do with the RAM. So I start taking out and test every RAM-stick separately. "everyone works" Then I test each RAM-slot . "everyone works" Puts in 2 of them I had from the beginning, "the computer does not start" Then remove them and test a few different variations. "computer never starts" But then when I finally put in all 4sticks (32gb) it posts and everything. Seriously have no idea what the problem could be..... I have kind of accepted that the motherboard is defective, but thought if anyone here knows something or has been through the same.

After installing a new GPU (RTX 3090 from GTX 1080), I started my computer, saw the BIOS splash screen, followed by a message that read “reboot and select proper boot device” Some consulting with the Motherboard Manual, I decided to try swapping the NVME drive to the other M.2 ports. (I’m not sure what my thought process was here…) That didn’t work. I updated the BIOS, from B2 to F15a, and now that message doesn’t show up. Instead, upon powerup, the bios comes up first, with no option to select the boot drive. If I hit F12 on the BIOS splash screen, I get the option to select a boot drive. If I select the Samsung 970 EVO PLUS, it will try to boot, and bring me back to the same spot, asking me to select the drive again. (This seems like the same issue, the BIOS is just handling it different with the update.) I did try swapping the Storage Boot Option Control from UEFI to Legacy, but no luck. This wasn’t an issue that I anticipated when upgrading to the 3090, and is a bit out of my wheelhouse. The only thing I can think of could be an issue is the 3090’s use of PCI-e x16, and somehow the NVME drive can’t get what it needs to run? However, this benchmark I found (https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/35087921) shows a user with the same Motherboard, CPU, and GPU I have, as well as a NVME SSD. So, it appears to be possible. · Z370 AORUS Gaming 7 · BIOS Ver.F15a · i7-8700K · 64 GB DDR4 2133MHz · Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB PCI-e NVME SSD (Boot Drive) · Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SSD · EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 · EVGA 850W PSU · Windows 10 Pro 64-bit · Motherboard error code reads: Ab I appreciate any and all advice on this. Thank you.

Hi guys, I was refilling my waterloop a couple of days ago. Everything was right so far and no water touched the electronics. When loading my OC profile back in, my pc went off and a sneaky beaky waterdrop, sitting right below the cooler was hopping onto the Mainboard like a killer ninja destroying a psu. Contacting Asus did result in some: "Go look on ebay... Maybe you´ll find a guy selling some parts from his mainboard! " Asking for the schematics or a bill of materials just got blocked of.. OK well... I understand that... I´m working as an PCB-Designer in a small company, so I´m pretty familiar with mainboards n stuff, but I dont´t know what kind of PSU is that, sitting right below the CPU (shown in picture)... I guess it is some kind of IO-Driver PSU for the PCIe and chipset lanes? I know, I could just get a new Mainboard on ebay for cheap, but I really put some time into that one, making it the way i want it. I.e. I cut down the socket to get the delid die guard installed on the 8700k; I have done some mods to the Vcore-PSUs; and I removed all the rgb stuff (don´t blame me! I don´t like rgb flashing around next to me while I´m working, thats all) What I´m looking for here is to gather some information about the layout of those boards, to get a better understanding of what might be potentially broken right now. You know... Its always better to know what you want to fix before u try to fix it... I already ordered a new board to use it as a source for replacement parts. Kind regards, Alex

Good Day I have a question about the RAM support of the CPU i7-8700k I want to purchase new RAM for my setup I am running the above mentioned i7-8700k on a MSI Z370 A-PRO Mainboard. The motherboard has 4 RAM slots. On the website of the Mainboard you can find the phrase Dual channel memory architecture. In the CPU specs I see Max # of Memory Channels. Does this mean that this setup is only working with two RAM? Or is this a recommendation? It confuses me because the Mainboard has 4 slots.

Hello lovely guys from the LTT forum, I have been looking for a solution to this problem everywhere but I ran out of places to look, so you guys are my last hope. I am currently experiencing a lan issue on Aorus Z370 Gaming 5 for about half a year now, where the speed of my wifi chip is significantly faster then the lan chip. Current speed of my provider is 1Gbps down and 50Mbps up, I am getting around 300Mbps down on wifi and around 6-10Mbps on lan. Interesstingly Upload is identicall on lan and wifi. I know that I am using a high quality cat 8 ethernet cable which I recently bought and I also tried reinstalling my network drivers several times. My dad who is on the same network is getting 1Gbps to his pc even through a switch. I also tried every port on my modem, no difference I even tried the switch from my dad to see if it might have some magic built into it , but no luck there. Would be really nice if there might be someone out there who has been experiencing the same issues or has any ideas to solve my issue that I have not come up with.

I want to know if by enabling both MCE + XMP would cause potential problems for my board. My cooler is the Noctua U12S Chromax and supposedly my vrms are not great (according to this tier list), especially for an 8-core cpu like the 9700k. P.D: XMP was giving me too much vccsa and vccio voltage on auto, so I lowered them to acceptable limits while being stable.

Is i9 9900ks compatible with rog strix z370-h?
-
Is the Asus Z370-A fine for the 9700k? I heard this specific motherboard has not-so-good vrms for 9th gen, will it be fine though? I don't want to reach 5.0 GHz on all cores or anything like that, only a slight oc in the future to increase its lifespan. My cooler is a Noctua U12s Chromax which is not ideal too.

So basically I just got an i7 9700k to replace my i5 8600k for my z370 Aorus Gaming 5. I bios updated it to F15b, F14, F12, and F10 all doesnt boot. Error code 78 keeps popping up and sometimes 62 but doesnt get pass the Aorus screen. A0 once but doesnt get pass that screen too and can't go into bios. F15b initially made my screen really stuttery and also like scratchy as if the connectors were not connected properly. When I switched into bios F14 it went into bios but when i left bios "bi initialize library failed 0xc0000229" popped up. Last but not least, i ran it through the f12 bios but it keeps flashing C1 and even after i insert my RAM it still flash C1. When I put my i5 back in it works perfectly. I got the cpu off ebay and its from a relatively high rating reseller. Does anyone know how can I troubleshoot this problem?

Hi, I recently found an AC 9560 Intel M.2 card for Wi-Fi/Bluetooth that I had from an old Dell Laptop. I tried to get it to work with my z370 board, but it doesn't seem to work. I have checked on some forums and apparently the 9560 doesn't work with ASRock Z370 due to some CNVi chipset compatibility. However, will the 9260NGW work with my board? My motherboard has the Key E slot under the CPU power phases. I have a 970 Evo in the top M.2 slot and my SATA 3 ports are being used by 4x 3.5 HDD's and 2xSata SSD's. I only use the topmost 16x PCIe slot for my 3060ti.

Hello all! My system MB: Asus Z370-H CPU: I5-8600k OC 4.3GHZ all cores RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) Corsair Vengeance 2133MHZ GPU: Sapphire RX 280x (old one I know) storage:250GB Samsung 850evo ssd + intel 660p 1TB NVME SSD I currently have been using my system for 2 years now with no issue until the last week when I started experiencing some random hard crashes while gaming (specifically Destiny 2 and Rise of the Tomb Raider). Yesterday the PC wouldn't even post and when I turned it on the fans spin and the lights turned on but nothing on the screen. I noticed the Dram led was on so I tried reinstalling the sticks and tried again and it worked until I turned off the PC again. When I turned back on the next day it wouldn't post again. reinstalling the ram got me no luck so I thought one of the sticks was off so I tried with only 1 stick at a time and got it working with both (so the sticks are fine) but it doesn't post if both are installed at the same time. I also tried installing it in all different slots and only the B2 slot seems to work. Is my MB done for or is it some easy fix here that I'm missing? thanks

Is it only compatible with z370? I have a b450 that i planned to use them on. Are they only compatible with Intel chips?

Hello. I’m doing my first build and I wanted to test before I put mine in the case. I was wondering do I need to have the cpu cooler on for this? I’m not gonna overclock, I just want to get everything booted. I’m using an evga z370 ftw with intel i5 9600k. My cooler is a Corsair h60 so I’m a bit stumped on how to use an aio cooler for test bench. Also I have a evga 1080 ftw gpu. help is greatly appreciated thanks!

Hello. Im working on my first build and currently just trying to have it work as a test bench like setup with only cpu, cpu cooler 2x8 ram sticks and cpu 4+4 and 24 pin power connected, cpu fan into cpu fan #1. I’m using an evga z370 motherboard and I tried using an intel celeron g4900 just to get it to boot. I got a post code 53, memory initialization failed, no usable memory. I tried switching the ram slots from 2,4 to just 2 then 4 and 1,3. I went from g skill ripjaws V to Corsair vengeance rgb pro to g skill trident ram. I tried putting in an intel i5 9600k, I know it needs a bios update, but I get the same post code every time. I’m not sure what else to try, the only thing I haven’t switched was the motherboard. I’ve looked at the cpu pins and they all look fine. I can post pictures if needed. im just not sure where to go now, do I need a new motherboard or am I missing something? Help is greatly appreciated. Also, sorry this is so long, I just wanted to be thorough with what I’ve done

Hi. I finally got my system put together and I get a post code 53, no usable memory detected. After some researching I think the ram isn’t compatible with my motherboard, evga z370 ftw and g skill ripjaws v ram. I’m trying to find memory that’s compatible but evga lists only quad channel configs. I found something I can get today I was hoping someone could look over to make sure this is compatible. Corsair venegence rgb pro and model number is: cmw 16gx 4m2 c3000 c15 there isn’t any spaces I just put them in for easier reading thanks

Hi. Im doing my first build, well test bench atm and I tried googling this but I can’t find anything helpful. I’m plugging in the cpu power cable and does it matter what side goes to motherboard or psu? One side is a 4+4 pin and the other is 8 pin. I’m using an evga z370 ftw motherboard and evga 850g3 gold psu. Sorry in advance for such a beginner question but people have been helpful here thanks!

Hello. i was getting a memory error and was told to look for bent pins and since this is my first build I’m not too sure if I’m missing something. The motherboard pins look good to me but I bought a cheap cpu and didn’t look great. I’ll upload a few pics. Help would be greatly appreciated!! thanks.

I just installed the new ekwb AIO and now my temps are sitting at 89c in the bios. What did I do wrong. I plugged it in the same as the previous Corsair AIO that had no problems. It feels like there is water being pumped through the AIO. Attached are pictures of the temps in bios and the mobo lights. I’m just not sure what I did wrong

I haven't seen a thread for this so I hope I'm not double posting. Today I went to turn on my PC and it failed to post, no debug led's light up except for the cpu light, the motherboard attempts to turn on and gets stuck in a boot loop that doesn't stop unless power is killed from the power supply. The system was also working fine last night and was shut down properly. The PC is: Processor: i5-8600k Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5 Rev.1 RAM: 32 Gb Giel Super Luce DDR4 3000 MHz Graphics Card: Gigabyte RTX 2060 Gaming OC Power Supply: EVGA NEX650G Storage: (Boot Drive:Silicon power 500 Gb sata ssd), Wd Blue 3d NANd Sata M.2 500Gb, Sabrent Rocket 1Tb NVMe PCIe 3 M.2 Cooler: Deepcool CaptainPro 240 I have reseated the CPU, tried the system without the GPU installed and with only one stick of RAM at a time, I have cleared the CMOS multiple times and now have the entire PC disassembled on a test bench. If anyone has suggestions on what to test next or experience with this issue any help would be greatly appreciated. P.S. no log files because I cannot even get it to post
