On YouTube, in the community tab, when I post a post, it cuts out because the resolution is different. But on YouTube I write the photo to be in 2:5 or 5:2 format, but what resolution is it? I know that the 4:3 format has a resolution of 1024x768 or 1280x1024, such square monitors have certainly seen them.

So is there any extension to make this premium quality available? Which used to be normally available. What is this I have to buy YT Premium to watch the movie in normal quality. After all, that's why YT was popular, you watch it for free because there are ads and other sites like Netflix where there are movies that spent money recording, you have to pay for it, which is understandable. You used to buy movies on a CD, now you buy them on Netflix but let's face it, hardly anyone will pay for YT Premium just to watch ordinary movies that people record. As you can see, people don't buy YT Premium that much. Because you can use AdBlock or some other plugins to not have ads. So YT decided that if you use AdBlock you won't be able to watch videos for some users, but it's not fully implemented yet. So they went further and understood regular 1080p and 1080p Premium where the bitrate is higher. They used to make it so you can't see the thumbs down, it's also stupid because you can't find out if this video is helpful or not, for example, when I want to fix a program on my computer, most of the videos are a scam where they make you download a program and then you knew it was due to the fact that you could see the thumbs down or how they are hidden then it also looked suspicious and now only the thumbs up are visible. But you can enable it with an extension on your browser. So is there any extension to make this premium quality available? Which used to be normally available.

hey guys, i have been making some form of twitch/ YT content for over 3yrs now. last year i built my new rig upgrading from a R7 2700 W/ 2060 super to a R9 7950X W/ RX7900xt. but the past 3-4 months i have been struggling with my twitch stream quality and my raw streams are on the hefty side to upload to YT. I understand that Nvidia's drivers and Nvenc encoders are much better for what i want to do but Nvidia needs a reality check and im voting with my dollar. here are my settings in obs. for some context i want to play and record my gameplay at 4k for the YT channel but stream it on twitch at 1080p. with these settings i get a fairly "okay" stream but the bit rate and frame rate isnt great for more intense scenes (even on minecraft). so anyone that may be a guru with obs or AMD hardware what should i change? should i just lower my stream to 720p? should i be using some kind of plugin? any and all help is apreciated. thanks!

Moderators, sorry if this has been posted before, but I didn't see anything in a search. Also Mods, if this doesnt' fit what should be in the news section, feel free to edit it to fit, or move it to another section. New permissions is being rolled out across YT for pretty much all videos, new or old. The catch is, you are auto-opted-in by default, not cool at all. As far as I can tell, it's not on all videos, some of mine are veyr short to begin with, but it has shown up on some of them. Screenshot above is from one of my videos. Also, I can't find a way to mass uncheck this box, you have to go to Youtube Studio, select a video, details, and then scroll all the way to the bottom where it is buried and uncheck this box, rinse/repeat for every video. If there is a way to mass uncheck the box, please share with the rest of us. . Quotes: source is a video, full of information about how this works and implications., not sure what to quote, other than the title of it "YouTube Just Did This To Your Channel" If a channel has a significant amount of videos, this "feature" will appear on new videos as well as videos uploaded before this "feature' was rolled out. Talk about a huge pain, this means someone like LTT would spend a LOT of time having to manually uncheck this stupid box if they didn't want their videos sampled. The bigger issue is that at some point, YT is most likely going to monetize shorts which means that potential monetization of your content has to be shared with you and whoever did a Shorts of it. Just not cool at all to roll out an update, with it auto-opted in and no notice and no easy way to opt-out. Do yourself a favor, watch the entire video allthe way to the end, there maybe somethings about YT's about videos uploaded and what they can do with them. Sources I haven't seen this anywhere else except in this video:

Email I recieved yesterday evening from YT: You're receiving this email because we're updating the YouTube Terms of Service ("Terms") to clarify our terms and provide transparency to our users. These changes shouldn't significantly alter your access or use of the YouTube service. A summary of the changes: Facial recognition restrictions: The Terms of Service already state that you cannot collect any information that might identify a person without their permission. While this has always included facial recognition information, the new Terms make that explicitly clear. YouTube's right to monetize: YouTube has the right to monetize all content on the platform and ads may appear on videos from channels not in the YouTube Partner Program. Royalty payments and tax withholding: For creators entitled to revenue payments, such payments will be treated as royalties from a U.S. tax perspective and Google will withhold taxes where required by law. Please make sure you read the updated Terms carefully. The new Terms will take effect on 18 November, 2020 for users in the U.S., and similar changes to our Terms of Service will be made outside the U.S. in 2021. By continuing to use YouTube after this date, you are agreeing to the new Terms. If you would like more information, visit our Help Center. Please note, if you allow your child to use YouTube Kids, then you are agreeing to the new Terms on behalf of your child as well. You received this mandatory email service announcement to update you about important changes to the YouTube Terms. © 2020 Google LLC d/b/a YouTube, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066 So it appears that end goal is turn this into a platform to attract and keep the big brands like network television that also hosts user created content for free. Pretty sure the middle bullet point means that the word "may" is a typo and should have been spelled as "will". Funny thought, I recall Jim Sterling doing the content deadlock and it was hilarious, I wonder if he or others will start doing that again.

So I have a YouTube video in the progress of being rendered that I want to have as my website background. But the thing is that I want it to be the background like background-color: #hexhere; but with a YouTube video. There is already a blur on the video so the text would be visible and more aesthetically pleasing. I would also need an h1 and a subtitle on the above the fold content.

Hello. My name is Liam and I'll go straight to the point. I've been interested in media since the age of 13 but didn't have the proper equipment (such as a microphone) to start. I now have them things, have had them for months, but been waiting for my birthday to get a new GPU since mine is quite old, and therefore having a better quality when recording. I am looking for some friends who can play on PC/PS4 at the ages of around the 17 year old mark. I am 17 years old personally (as of the 22nd) and I want to be friends with people my own age. For the last few months of deciding not to do YouTube until I get my equipment/components, I've been learning how to handle my recording software and do some tricks with some editing. Although I'm not great with editing, it does take one a while to master. Though I have found my own way to compress video files with a great quality to around 300mbs every 10 minutes (10 minutes footage = 300mbs roughly/estimately, but also depends how much it has been edited.) Anyway, I've learned and I guess know decently how to handle my recording and editing software. So that's cool. I live in the UK, and that's pretty much all you need to know about me. I'm not particularly great with groups (a fair warning), and I'm a quiet person, but normally I don't have problems socialising. Just with talking non-the-less. Also, I don't like swearing verbally for my own reasons. You can find all my social media on my profile in a status update. Thanks.

So for a while now I have been wanting to rename my YT channel. This is odd to ask on the forums but I wanted to see what would happen. The name feels to simple for me and not creative. I'm doing a reboot type thing for the channel as well so I thought a new name would be nice. I will give credit to the name that I choose if I do choose one. I do mainly gaming and that sort of thing.

I've been having this issue for almost 3 days now where sometimes youtube thumbnails doesn't show up. I've cleared my browser cache and cookies etc but still no luck. Sometimes they appear, sometimes they don't. I'm not having any issues with my internet at the moment so I don't know what's up. Anyone else experience this lately? Edit: And of course, when I load youtube to take a screenshot and show you, every thumbnail is there -.-

Hey guys, there's channel to buy, 22k subs, 21m views, 98 clips. It's demonetized for 8 months now. I have opportunity to buy access to it for 700$. I want to buy it, wipe all videos, delete them permanently and start (quasi) fresh with my own videos that don't violate any of YT rules. Is this reasonable? Will Yt remove ban when there will be no clips that are against YT policies? Thanks a lot

Dear Linus Tech Tips Forum users, I have been looking at some Cameras and thinking that I want to buy one sometime later this year. I'm looking for some help choosing which ones to pick. I am hoping that you can at least drop one link into this thread. Some of the requirements are: Less that $750 CDN Some sort of connection to the internet or Bluetooth so it's easier for me to upload Possibly 20 Mega-Pixels plus The reason why I came here is that I don't know much about cameras so if anyone could help, thanks. Some links I recommend: https://www.henrys.com/ and https://www.amazon.ca/. Thanks for reading, SwitcherooniMan

Hey so recently my youtube on my Pc is not responsive at all. I have a more than powerful enough setup for this ( i5 6600, gtx 1060 ) and nothing heavy running in the background nor any driver updates which have to be installed. My internet connection is also perfectly fine and fast enough, the videos are playing perfect with good quality but the general youtube interface doesnt react immediately only after a few seconds when wanting to search for something. What is the cause of this problem? Btw. im using firefox if this matters

I'm interested, why do so many people seem to hate YouTube since Google has done some of it's recent updates within a few years? I just noticed how much hate the YouTube Music video has got. Edit: Just noticed the broken poll... oh well

For some reason, today none of the videos I've watched on youtube have had a 1080p or original quality option. The videos were all uploaded in 1080p because I checked on a couple of videos I knew were in 1080 and youtube center said they were. However, no quality options over 720p were available on the quality selection menu. I'm using firefox 26a2 (alpha/aurora) and have been for a while but the problem has only started today. Has anyone else had this problem and what browser are you using?

Would you donate to a YouTube subscriptions fix?
colonel_mortis posted a topic in General Discussion
I am in the process of creating a new youtube front end that will serve up the latest subscriptions for a user without missing any out as YouTube/Google likes to do. However, I have been reading through the API ToS and apparently I can't serve ads on a page where the focus of the content is YouTube's. Therefore, without written permission from YouTube it would be very difficult for me to monetize the site effectively, which would be required because web hosting is not free (it can be fairly cheap, but not necessarily), without asking for donations. Therefore, so that I can decide whether to push on with the development (I only need to make the front end - I am able to pull your latest videos now), I would like to know whether you would donate to a project like this when it's up and running. I would look at adding extra features, such as the ability for the uploaders to replace the (broken) comments system with an alternative (forum/reddit etc.), but that would need a fairly large user base before it would be used. And it should be in a smoother interface than the existing youtube ui (no need to navigate to another pages to watch the video). -
Seriously Youtube? I need a G+ account to write comments? And that's not even the worst part, the worst part is, that I can't log in my own fucking YT account. Instead it redericts me to a fucking new account with no subscriprions, and my e-mail as username! /rant off Can you believe that?!
