Heyo everyone! I've been trying to update all my credentials but I have an account on Garena tied to a very old Yahoo email that I can't log in. I don't want to lose all my years of progress on my LoL account there but customer services won't allow me to update my email unless if I can get back in to my Yahoo account. I've tried all the passwords and combinations that I can remember using but none of them seem to work. Unfortunately, I can't remember my answers to the security questions as well. Again, this is a very old email (close to 10 years I believe). Is there any hope of recovery here or is this just lost? Edit: As far as I can remember, I don't think my current email and phone number has been listed as recovery options as well since I tried them and didn't get any verification code.

Anyone running into issues with Yahoo mail today? I can not log in on my phone, and even after changing my password it says it is incorrect. And the recovery options either lead to an error screen for a website that is down, or tells me my recovery options are not there. Can't log in on my phone or in a private window. Thankfully I was logged in on my desktop, but support is only paid from yahoo...

For those that aren't aware, in August 2013, Yahoo had a major security breach that they said (in December 2016) resulted in email addresses, passwords, phone numbers, birthdays, and the like for 1 billion (of 3 billion) accounts being compromised by the attackers. Today, they announced that ALL 3 billion accounts had their information compromised, apparently discovering the full extent of the breach through their recent integration into Verizon. So... yeah. Maybe if you were planning on opening a Yahoo account, don't. And if you had one back in 2013, make sure you've changed your passwords (though, considering it's been 4 years, you probably should have done that already). At this point, Yahoo feels like it's dead in the water, and this just feels like a final nail in the coffin, as I don't know anyone who would be willing to create an account with them at this point - aside from those who are seriously out of touch with tech. If you know any such people, I would advise that you advise them to say away from Yahoo. Their security sucks. Also the fact that it took 4 years and merging with another company to be able to disclose the full extent of this breach.

https://ca.news.yahoo.com/giants-cooperate-removal-extremist-content-235718358--finance.html Individual sites/companies policing their own property is nothing really new. Now some are planning on buiding a database to identify "extremst" content. This is essentially the equivalent of a black list. Whether the content is terrorism, racism, political opposition, use of the name of a country that China doesn't want used, or unicorns, this is still a black list. Do you think this is a good or bad idea? Are these companies doing a public service or are they squashing the free expression of their consumers? If abused, does the existence of a database make all of these parties culpable in a conspiracy against any given group? For example, if LTT were tagged as "fake news" and blacklisted, and could prove this as defamation in a court of law, then they could pull all of these companies into it possibly just for the existence of the database. Another legal example is the RICO Act, where all they need to show is a conspiracy to act unlawfully. The RICO Act has been used against organized crime. I can see such a database, and those who provide the data, very easily becoming more or less a thought police. It also places government hooks/influence in an area that has attempted to remain relatively neutral from government intervention. Yes, I know some have standing deals with China to censor/block content, but up to now that's been limited to a given company.

So I have two email accounts; one is a personal yahoo and the other is a work gmail. I want to make a whole new gmail that's just for personal like my yahoo but don't know how to get all my emails to the new account. I know I can just set up email forwarding but that wont help if I delete the yahoo account. I am going to transfer all the old emails to the gmail later today. My question is, is there some way to get all the sites that email me to send it to a new email address without going to each site and giving them my new account info? I found this link https://support.google.com/mail/answer/56283?hl=en that tells me how to get all the old emails to my new account but i don't know if any new ones will come if I delete the yahoo once the transfer is complete. Does anyone have an words of advice?

I find it quite troubling to hear that a government agency traded with criminals for the data of one million people. The fact that the data of one billion users ended up in the hands of criminals and were sold, is even more troubling. I find that a huge company like Yahoo should take security a lot more serious. I hope this will give governments more incentive to make laws on cyber security more strict. Source: BloombergTechnology

Long, long, long ago, I made a mistake and used Yahoo as my main form of email. Everything was fine until my phone bit the dust, and I had my mobile account ID linked to that phone. Whenever I try to log in now, it asks for my email, doesn't ask for my password, and instead says "You're not signed in on any Yahoo app. Use an alternate way to sign in.", and asks for the old phone number to send a recovery SMS to. When I say I can't access that phone, it sends me into a loop, taking my back to the beginning because apparently no other way of recovery exists. I really need this account, as it's tied to some really important stuff. Thanks in advance.

I use a Yahoo mail account for home stuff, and recently I stopped recieving mail. I could send stuff from my school gmail account to my personal email, but was not recieving any off them. I was then signed out on all of my devices, and cannot sign in again. I lookes like it worked, then I go into any client, even Yahoo's own online one and I'm greeted by 'please sign in'. Im not in any rush, I just want to know if anyone else is having issues.

So I made an account on rocket mail waaaay back in 2009 and it was for using yahoo messenger as I remember. I still have its username and password and also have a recovery email setup in it which is a gmail that i use regularly. If im correct, to login to a rocket mail account, you have to go to yahoo mail and sign in with username@rocketmail.com. I did this but it gives me an error stating "Sorry, we don't recognize this email". I dont remember deactivating the account so is there any other thing that could be keeping me from logging in? Is there a way I can use my recovery email to get me back in?

Hello, My question is in regards to google plus business pages. Someone has been creating multiple fake google accounts in order to leave negative reviews on the google plus pages of competing businesses in my area. The reviews are not only criticizing these other businesses, but saying that people should use my business instead. Is there anything that can be done to stop this? Is there a way where I can be alerted when a new review is written on a google plus page that uses my business name? Thank you, Edna

Yahoo, Under Fire from Investors, Takes Steps for Possible Sale By: REUTERS Source: http://www.nbcnews.com/business/business-news/yahoo-under-fire-investors-takes-steps-possible-sale-n521966 Not much to tell really. Yahoo's CEO is under fire again and Yahoo is preparing to be sold. The CEO is took on a lot of heat for putting on a $7 million party after the last round of layoffs. (I am sorry but I laughed when I saw this) Unless Yahoo removes it failing CEO and makes some major changes there are investors that will move against Yahoo an make a proxy fight for control of the core company. Just die already Yahoo.

I was installing CrystalDiskMark5 and skipped the box where I could uncheck the "install additional software" blah blah. Now Yahoo is my default search engine and I have some random homepage and I can't get it to default back to Google. Normally, it will stay as Google for a few hours but will then default back to Yahoo, often after I restart the system. I've tried reinstalling Chrome and even tried using Firefox. How do I go back?

I think we can agree we have all seen the memes about how Bing sucks and Goodle is like the GabeN of Search engines, but what one do you use and why? I personally was a Yahoo guy, then a Google guy, and now I use Bing about as much as I use Google. http://strawpoll.me/3478576 When You open the Front page of each website, you are greeted with two very different environments. Bing shows a sometimes interesting picture and displays news below with some quick links on top to various Microsoft services such as Office Online. Google provides you with a nice clean front page with quick links to Google services above. When Searching for celebrities, both Google and Bing provide decent search results; both provide easy access to play songs, view Wikipedia, and access their social media pages among other things. When searching for Tech products both search engines provide me with a link to the manufacturers web page first and foremost. Bing however provides additional results for shopping on the side while Google leaves a blank space. When searching for weather both show a nice forecast display, Google however provides more in depth results and will display information when i search for local weather. Bing on the other hand will come up empty unless I use Cortana. Either way Google provides more information. Sports seems to be the biggest hit or miss, Google seems to provide more info on Schedule but Bing seems better about previous game scores. Overall what is your opinion; has Bing improved to the point where it is a viable replacement to Google? Or is Google still the supreme overlord of Search on the internet? http://strawpoll.me/3478576

Google is trying to persuade users of the Firefox browser to ditch Yahoo as their default search engine. In November, Firefox-maker Mozilla cut a deal in which Yahoo would take over in the US as the "default search experience on Firefox across mobile and desktop," Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer announced at the time. Mozilla's goal was to work with a more flexible search engine that didn't also compete with its own product as Google does with its Chrome browser. Prior to the switch, Google had been the default search in Firefox since 2004. And just what has Google been doing to win back Firefox users? The search giant has been displaying not-so-subtle messages on its home page asking Firefox users a couple of questions: Do you want to make Google your default search engine? Do you want to make Google your homepage? You can answer "Sure" or "No thanks." On Wednesday, Google posted a tweet with the line: "This one's for all the Google Search-loving Firefox fans out there." The tweet showed an image of how you change your default search engine back to Google. It also displayed a link to a page with steps on how to make Google your search engine. The number of searches is key to companies like Yahoo and Google. More searches mean more chances for users to see advertisements, especially those associated with search terms. And that makes advertisers happy and willing to spend more money at search engines that deliver results. The default search engine is used when you type your query in the location bar, the search bar or the start page, so it's in effect no matter how or where you search in the browser. In November, Jackdaw Research chief analyst Jan Dawson expressed the view that many Firefox users wouldn't bother to change the default search settings away from Yahoo. "Google should be concerned," Dawson said. "This could mean a significant switch in market share away from Google toward Yahoo." And that shift has already started. ComScore's US desktop search engine rankings for December showed a 1.6 percent increase in search for Yahoo sites and a 1.6 percent decrease for Google sites. Google by far still dominates the market with a 65 percent share, compared with Yahoo's 11.8 percent. But Google wants to make sure it retains that dominance. Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment. With such a huge chunk of the search engine market, Google is certainly in no danger of losing its dominant status. But with advertisers trying to determine where to spend their ad dollars on Web searches, it's only natural the company would try to woo those lost Firefox users. The Internet giant launches a service that sends a short password to your phone. Think two-factor authentication, without the first factor. Turns out nobody can remember their Yahoo passwords. Now the company wants to make it so no one has to. Yahoo on Sunday launched a new service called "on-demand" passwords, which lets someone log into a Yahoo account using a short password the company texts to their phone instead of having to remember their own password. Here's how it works: You log into your Yahoo account using your normal passwords. In the security settings, you turn on on-demand passwords and register your phone. Next time you try to login, the password field is replaced by a button that says "send my password," and the company texts a four-character password to your phone. Dylan Casey, Yahoo's vice president of product management for consumer platforms, said during a session at the South by Southwest festival. The process feels like a common process for logging into websites called two-factor authentication, where you first enter your own password, then enter a second password the company sends to your phones. (Many popular services including Google's Gmail do this). Think of Yahoo's process like two-factor authentication, minus the first factor. Cyber security has become a top issue for the technology industry. Several of the world's most well-known companies, including Sony and Apple, have fought high-profile security vulnerabilities. Many companies have also tried to tackle the problem of their users having weak passwords. Password managers, like LastPass, also tries to take the burden off users to remember passwords. said Casey. However, numbers indicate that there was no real difference before and after it was raided by Swedish authorities. Apparently it will take far more than just taking The Pirate Bay offline to stop pirates.

Global Mail gmail 5.0 , Google's new version of its Gmail mobile app, available for download now on Android, on which you don't need a gmail account to use it lets you manage accounts from alternative email providers like Yahoo, AOL and Microsoft Outlook. You can also use it with your work email address. Screen cap of Gmail app supporting MSoutlook & Yahoo mail... Switching between Gmail and non-Gmail accounts will work much the same way as navigating between different Google accounts within the current app interesting move for Google which until now has focused on users of its own email platform. But opening up the Gmail app to other types of email accounts could potentially draw thousands of new Android users who don't use Gmail for either work or personal accounts to the app. However, these accounts will not use push notifications, and you'll be asked to set a sync interval What's New?.. Insert Google Drive files directly into messages Improved auto-complete. Start typing in the To, Cc or Bcc field and you'll now get better suggestions, faster. Improved formatting support when restoring saved drafts Ongoing bug fixes and reliability improvements Manage multiple accounts View and save attachments Set up label notifications The new Gmail app is distinct from another recent email innovation from Google, which it's calling Inbox. Inbox, released last month, makes your email into a kind of to-do list. It lets you do things like set reminders, bundle similar messages together in groups, call out the key information from important messages and hit "snooze" on messages you'd prefer to deal with later. If you add multiple accounts, you can switch between them by opening the left-hand slide-out menu and swiping across your profile banner. You can also tap the small arrow and choose an account from the list. However, these accounts will not use push notifications, and you'll be asked to set a sync interval. The new app has a cleaned-up look that Google calls "material design," which gives the illusion of varying depths for images on the screen. Material design is also a prominent aspect of the forthcoming update to Google's mobile operating system, Android Lollipop. Also this version of the app has super clean compose screen & round avatars.. If you want to add Exchange support to your Gmail client, you'll need to download an additional APK. If you installed Gmail 5.0 first, you may need to force stop your Gmail app in order for it to recognize the Exchange capabilities. I saw few times in bottom part of front page of forum where recently online users are listed that there are users "Google" and "Yahoo" but their names are not clickable. What that means?
