Hello! My specs: i7-13700KF MSI RTX 3070 750 Watt PSU 32GB Ram (+Samsung SSD, Artic 280mm AIO+3 Fans) In the Intel XTU Software appears a Power Throttling warning after some minutes of stress test.... Google says that I need a better PSU, but the Be quiet PSU calculator says that my PSU is on only 60% use... So is this bad for my CPU? Can I fix this "error" or do I need a better PSU? Here are my temperatures at a CPU Stresstest: CPU:49-65°C GPU:45°C Thanks for you help!!

Description When trying to open the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU), the system shows an error: Unable to start Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility because the drivers are not running. A reboot may be necessary if Intel Extreme Tuning Utility was just installed, otherwise download and install the latest version of Intel Extreme Tuning Utility from https://www.intel.com/ My PC Motherboard: ASUS TUF B660M DDR4 WIFI CPU: Intel Core 12600K Storage: Samsung 970 EVO PLUS RAM: Kingston DDR4 16G*2 3200 Events Before, I was able to open Intel Extreme Tuning Utilities normally and tried to tune the CPU frequency to 4.7GHz using Auto Overclock. I changed the CPU cooling from air cooling to 240 water cooling and removed and reinstalled the CPU from the CPU snapper, reapplied the silicone grease and spilled a bit on the capacitor on the green bezel of the front CPU, but I cleaned it up. On reboot it prompted that I had a new CPU and needed to press F1 to get into Setup. i did not make any changes and got into the system. I tried to open Intel Extreme Tuning Utilities, but it failed to open. I uninstalled it and manually cleaned all uninstall residue, then reinstalled and rebooted, but it still failed to open.

Hasee s7-ta5nb WIN10 I5-11260H. I tried to download some newer versions and they are working but i need the CV slider to be enabled so only solution is 6.5.2.4 ver. I installed it and faced an error: drivers are not present etc... i tried to use intel DSA but it says i have no drivers to update. i dont really understand what the problem might be.. at my PC any version of XTU works fine. any thoughts? Only solution i found is to use quick CPU to manipulate the CV but this is alternative program and i'd like to solve this problem with XTU

As shown in this screenshot, my XTU is only correctly showing CPU utilization and memory utilization, and all other readouts are 0. I am using an old version (6.4.1.23). Also tried newer and the latest version and none of those worked. HWINFO and AIDA64 both have correct readouts. Just XTU is not working. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated.

So my laptop has this issue where if I'm running an intensive application (such as a game like Minecraft) it will turbo boost up to 3.7ghz but randomly it will throttle all the way down to 0.78ghz. This is particularly annoying because my fps will drop from 200+ to just 10-20. The workaround that I'm currently using is to set my fan speed to max, undervolt my cpu a bit in xtu and reduce the power limit in xtu. This reduces the peak clockspeed, but it basically eliminates the issue of my cpu throttling down to 0.78ghz. My temperatures are still in the high 80s to low 90s, but that the price I pay for using a laptop. My real problems occur when I then try to do a multithreaded task (such as editing a video) instead of a single threaded task (such as playing Minecraft). I don't have issues with thermal throttling, but because of the power limit the cpu throttles down to around 1.5ghz while still having plenty of thermal headroom. To fix this I can increase my power limit in xtu, but then I have to change it back when I start playing again. Would there be a way to automatically switch the power limit based on what's happening on the computer or is there away to simply fix the extreme throttling in the first place?
-
So I had this issue a few months ago where my laptop would randomly power limit/thermal throttle at low temps and I solved it by turning up my processor ICC max but recently it started happening again. Recently my CPU has overheated (to 198F) but my computer didn't shut down and it eventually went back to normal (130-150F) and I turned it off and came back and it was throttling. I hope the issue can be fixed because I really don't feel like buying a new computer right now.

So I decided to try pop os again because I was bored. Whatever, I ended up finding more things that just didn't work correctly so I went and booted back to windows but now XTU's values are messed up and Aida64 reports the CPU is always at 0.91GHz.... (It's not) I've tried installing the Intel ME and DPTF drivers but that didn't help. XTU and Aida used to report correct values before installing PopOS... I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling XTU but that also did nothing. Here is a screenshot of XTU's weird values. My main issue is it maxed out the slider for multiplier at 51x despite being at 53x normally.... If I try and apply my saved profile it fails, saying there are incorrect values.

I am having issues with my hp omen latop that I am have had over a year. I have XTU since I got it and had no issues till today. I was trying to change the TDP so my laptops fans would not rev so high during class. After I tryed it would only set to 61.00W and would not go down. I Bios updated, installed and unistalled XTU have HWbio and said it was at 61.00W aswell. The short term TDP would work normal but nothing worked. At the time of this I am getting ready to factory reset and see if that does that trick. This makes my PC overheat. Please help!

Greetings, im new in to overclocking so , i saw that XTU was an easy way to overclock so i wanted to give it a try, i managed to get my 5820k to 3.9~4.1ghz , but i cant go any higher i have Core voltage set to 1.300v and all cores to 4.2ghz but im getting current/EDP limit throttling and i dont know how to deal with that. i have no thermal throttling/power limit throttling , my package temperatures sit between 50 to 60c° so i wanted to know what do i do to remove that Current/edp limit throttling. thanks My motherboard is a X99 WIFI G1 EVGA 850B2 power supply Also id like to add that i dont understand why i can keep pushing the multiplier up but the ghz will be always 100ghz below the multiplier, by example: if i set the multiplier by 43x my cpu will run at 4.2ghz and if i set it to 42x the cpu will run at 4.1ghz , is this normal? or im doing something wrong? all this even if the throttling is "activated"

just built my first pc, an i7 12700k on an aorus z690 ddr4 elite. I'd like to slightly undervolting to help temps. I'd like to do it with either throttlestop or xtu as I'm used to them but they are saying that undervolting protection is on to stop me undervolting. does anyone know the setting I need to do on a gigabyte bios to enable undervolting in throttle stop. Thanks so much in advance.

So I've installed this in all my previous laptops. But it won't install in my current one. Specs : Model : ASUS TUF Dash F15 FX516PM Processor : i7 11340H GPU: RTX 3060 BIOS: SMBIOSBIOSVersion FX516PM.322 All the previous versions I've tried didn't work either. Note: I have ASUS Armory Crate installed, have seen it creating log files in a XTU folder in C:\Program Data\Intel\Intel XTU\Logs. Not sure if this has to do with anything, but thought to mention it here. Can anyone help?

Hello I do not know very well as introducor the problem.. get to the point. Tnego an Asus G731GW with BIOS 308. I need to get a copy of the file to downgrade to BIOS 307, Asus has no copies of old files, it only has 308 and 309 I need the file urgently, I just bought the computer this and I can not undervolt the CPU and it reaches 96 degrees, it is too much.

I have an asus vivobook X509FJ....recently laptop was getting really hot... SO i decided to undervolt using throttle stop Despite the sliders not greyed out...setting any value on it does not seem to actually do any kind of voltage changes (shown in the tabular column on the right....It used to update every time I made a change when TS worked).....-100mv is the stable offset for my CPu (TS worked fine until the device was running windows 20H2.After the 21H1 update TS stopped working....both older and newer versions dont help....Intel XTU is of no help either)

Good day, as mention above, I decided to upgrade to 1360KF on a Gigabyte B660M Gaming motherboard. I am getting thermal throttling with deepcool AK620 when under full load Cinebench R23, therefore I am planning to undervolt my cpu a bit to help with the issue but when I install Throttlestop, the setting I applied did not change the value so I changed to intel XTU thinking Throttlestop does not support 13 gen cpu but when I launch intel XTU, the voltage offset slider was greyed out. I am feeling very stupid but I thought undervolt is enabled in B660 board right? Or I need a z690 board?

I want to underclock my cpu to reduce temps. I'm using Intel XTU right now because i can analyse the temps and clocks with the graphs and stress test but it seems kind of buggy. Many recommended to use throttlestop but i want to have a stress test and stats as like in xtu to know the reason for performance drops temps etc( using hwinfo but it doesn't seem to have continuous data analysis or stress test) So please suggest some tools to analyze reason for throttling, graphs like xtu and a good way to stress test. A Newbie here kind of hard to get things right Please help!

Hello, I'm quite reluctantly using a HP BA120NG (Convertible X360 Pavilion) Laptop. Laptops Can be quite depressing when it comes to bios. If anyone coule help me I'd save myself from Buying a Desktop PC. (I can use a NVME to x4 Adapter for a GPU, and I'm using a 65W TDP Heatsink, because my Screen broke and only using the motherboard.) HP Support Seems Quite ok, I found this online https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Notebooks/How-do-I-change-configurable-TDP-power-limits/td-p/7215523 SO WHAT I NEED TO DO: Turbo Boost is fine with its 3.3 GHz on I5 8250U, unless I want to use it for more than 9ms. Then It throttles to 15W (thanks hp) despite 25W TDP on intels website. this is 1.8 GHZ. I get hardly 50°C so temperaturre REALLY is no issue. The TDP is Locked and not adjustable via XTU or Throttlestop. (XTU won't install on my hardware) I REALLY NEED TO have this function unlocked in the BIOS. Since I am not using the Laptop in the enclosure, my cooling does a really good job. I would like to unlock the 3.3GHz Turbo as an FULL TIME turbo, i Guess that would be about 30W. If you can't help me, please help me learn: What book do I need to read to understand a 2017ish bios uefi, what tools can I use to unpack, edit and reflash my custom Bios? How do I find datasheets for my chipset (this has been so hard, doesn't seem like a widely used one) CHIPSET: Kaby Lake, HP83C5 (even though the BiOS file is named 083C4) RW Everything would rock, but bios editing.... help pls!!! (Attach Is BIos exe, unpack with archiver for .bin file) if anyone know how do I convert the BIN file to a file that is readable by the (outdated???) Insydeh20 TOOL? (file with the long name is the insyde h2o tool,,, my bios is not h20 but made by insyde) f16t4639p76294n2_ZsCcLHda.zip sp100858(1).exe

Hi, I have an i7 7900F 1660 super 16gb ram Asus H130 R R.20 ( this is not correct i guess) I used Intel's XTU and downloaded a nice profile to improve performance. After applying +0.5 volts and trying a cpu stress test, the pc switched off and a push of the power button did nothing. Not a peep, no sign of life. The Ethernet light is still flashing, and my restart button has a red light. So it seems some form of power is still flowing through , but not the 24v connection perhaps? It seems that i managed to give my hardware severe damage through moving a slider. At this point I need help to identify if I fried my mobo, psu or cpu? I hooked up a really old and weak power supply and it came to life (nothing on the screen) for a few seconds before I (really stupid I know) plugged in the 12v cable and that killed it again and after that nothing worked anymore. Seems like my impatience made a bad situation worse. What do you guys reckon? Thanks in advance Jannick

I tried to undervolt with INTEL XTU on my Acer Aspire a515-54 laptop and (knowing nothing about it however) I somehow effed it up and now my max core frequency is stuck at 0.40Ghz I know reinstalling XTU wont help fix the problem cause it works on BIOS level. Is there a way I can reset my BIOS settings for the CPU frequncy? I tried removing the cmos battery for 30 seconds too but after I restarted nothing changed. I'm panicking at the moment, can anyone help me with this please?

Hello. This is all on a laptop. So I did a benchmark with Intel XTU and I observed that power limit throttling occurred. I've had throttling, both temperature and power limit, problems in the past (and still have) but only when my package temperature reached like 90+ celsius. Now my package temperature was at ~75 celsius. Now I don't know if that is normal. I'll put the system specs and the undervolting settings that I've been using for a while. Could somebody help me? Thanks in advance. Undervolting: Core voltage offset & cache voltage offset: -0.130 V Turbo boost short power max: enabled & 25.00 W The rest is at default

Hello guys! i made a big mistake installing intel extreme tunning utility, i had an lenovo y540 - i5 9300h / rtx2060, and a mesured my temps and they were mid 90, and i want to do an undervolt, and download this sofware (big mistake) and after i did some undervolting, there was no results, not what i expected and i want to go to defaults, but insted of my defaults settings ( i ll put a photo ) at Turbo Boost Power Max - 60.000W and Turbo Boost Short Power Max 78.000W, intel extreme tunning utility overwrite my defaults and now, i have at Turbo Boost Power Max - 70.000W and at Turbo Boost Short Power Max 107.000W, and i don t know what to do, i unistall the software, nothing.. restart to defaults in bios, nothing.. i don t know what to do... if you know how to fix this pls tell me (sorry for my bad english, i hope you will understand what i want to say)

I have successfully pushed my 7700K to 4.8G, but when I run the "stress FPU" in AIDA64,the XTU shows "power limit throttling".I tried to change the value of "Turbo boost power max" to 95W but the "power limit throttling" didn't disappear.I want to know what's the maximum safe value of the "Turbo boost power max".Thanks, guys.

Clocked my 6700K to 4.6GHz@1.225V and it passed every single stress and benchmarking test that i throw at it EXCEPT for XTU. IBT, Very High@30 loops Realbench Cinebench AIDA64 Stress Test@30 minutes Memtest x264 Stability Test (from overclock.net) Is this a cause for concern? Do i need to tweak it more to pass XTU? I read somewhere that XTU Benchmark Test is based on the Prime95 platform, so I'm not sure just how crucial passing the benchmark is

I am using an MSI GS63 7RDX laptop for gaming. It has a GTX 1050 paired with an i7 7700HQ. When I was running Battlefield V on it, I suddenly started to notice a lot of stuttering. So' I opened XTU and noticed that my CPU was Thermal Throttling. While my GPU temps were completely normal. To solve this I downloaded some top i7 7700 HQ XTU profiles. But they didn't work at all and my system freezer upon applying them. Although I got a profile working, there wasn't any difference in my benchmark score. Why does this happen? And anyone has a fix for aforementioned battlefield V issue. ( Except for Repasting). P.S:- My laptop is above one and half year old.

So i was undervolting my blade stelath 2019. I installed it using this guide https://kallelilja.com/2018/12/workaround-xtu-attempted-to-install-on-an-unsupported-platform/. It launched and i undervolted a bit too much so it blue screened. When i booted to windows the XTU claiming another "Performance tuning application" is running. I tried shutting down most of the apps running in the background, checked the bios, reinstalled it, cleared the install folder but it is still not starting. Do you have any ideas or fixes? Thank you for your answer. P.S. I tried using throttlestop but the profile was not applying.

I have an issue (well i think it is) where when i run a stress test on XTU and it only shows 3 active cores running. Is this normal? Has anyone seen this before? Thanks !
