Really Bad Luck or Related? Hey all, new to the forum but a long-time tech enthusiast. Had an experience this past week that I wanted to post here to see if anyone came across anything similar. System Information: Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix sTRX40 e-gaming CPU: Ryzen TR 3960x RAM: 64GB GPU: EVGA 3080ti FTW3 Boot Device: Samsung 970 EVO+ 1TB Addtional Storage: 5TB NVMe, 2TB Sata SSD Display: Asus ROG Strix XG32VQR OS: Win10 Pro PSU: EVGA GT 1000W 80+ Gold UPS: APC BGM1500 Recently, my computer started hard crashing when running Warzone specifically. Other games were still working fine including the COD MWII campaign. After searching tirelessly through error logs, i came to the conclusion that "The D3D11 device was removed" was my culprit. A.k.a. my gpu is literally disconnecting from my system. Not good. Sometimes I could play a game or 2 before the system crashed, but towards the end, as soon as i loaded into the menu, it would crash immediately. Tried different PCI slots, removing cable extensions for power, reset bios to default (no ram OC or anything). Just death upon loading. I've been putting off reinstalling windows for a long time but thought maybe because I've been cloning this SSD for the last 7 years and it's seen about 3 different chipsets/cpu's and a handful of different gpus, maybe it's time to for a fresh install. So, I went for it. Complete reformat and a fresh install of Win10 pro. Install went as expected, booted into windows, installed some chipset and gpu drivers, and we crashed again... Damn... So naturally I RMA'd the GPU. It's under warranty so, why not? I don't have another system to throw it in, but we'll see when the new one gets here. Here comes the fun part. I bust out my trusty ol' GTX 950 and install it. Everything seems fine except every now and then I wouldn't get a display on my monitor without first removing the DP cable and plugging it back in after Windows loaded, but I notice that if I connect via HDMI to my TV it works every time... This goes on for a day or so and eventually the monitor stops displaying altogether... So, I swap cables, swap ports, PC still displays via HDMI to the TV, but HDMI to the monitor gives me nothing... I now realize that there is no splash screen when my monitor turns on, and even though the back light is on I have no OSD... the monitor shows up in windows, but displays nothing... Connected the monitor to my PS4... nothing... Laptop... Nothing... Nintendo Switch... Nothing... It powers on, the backlight comes on, but the screen is blank. Different cables, different devices, different power outlets... nothing... I register my monitor on ASUS' website and find out I have about 3 weeks left under warranty... That's fortunate. So, I call up ASUS and RMA my display. I replace it with a BenQ monitor my job sent me when we switched to remote work during COVID. Connected via DisplayPort and haven't had a single issue. Please keep in mind that i went through numerous BIOS updates/rollbacks, DDU, GPU driver updates and rollbacks, SFC, DISM, reinstall Windows, etc, etc, etc... Every logical troubleshooting step imaginable. My question is, do I just have extremely bad luck, or are the issues with my GPU and Display related. I know that each have an issue because a busted display couldn't possibly crash my whole system to the point of a hard reset, right? But is it possible for a busted GPU to take my display out with it? What are the odds that both devices coincidentally died at the same time? Obviously not looking for a solid answer here, but thought it would be a fun discussion to have if anyone has experienced something similar...

Hello fellow community members: Though I searched a "considerable" amount of time through this forum, I haven't found something similar or "Quickbits", which I can piece together to help me, as such I hope I don't infringe the forum policy of "double/redundant posts". I am on "the verge" (pun intended) to get myself the above mentioned monitor. Some questions still are left open, after countless hours of happy-anticipation fuelled research and I hope, some owners of this "specific" model can answer me those. The monitor is 1440p@144Hz with HDR400 and not to be confused with the non "R"-variant. The "In my head"-scenario is: HDMI cable with HDR enabled for mediaconsumption (HDMI can be swapped with another DP cable if really needed) Displayport (needed for full 1440p@144Hz GSync) for gaming Another secondary monitor for everything trivial (what most secondary monitors do) wanted scenarios: HDMI (primary monitor) + DVI (Secondary monitor) DP (primary monitor) + DVI (secondary monitor) Couple of "Quickbits" to further enlighten my situation: GPU: 1080TI Monitor is GSync Compatible Cannot use GSync and HDR together Secondary Monitor is wishfully anticipated to work in above mentioned "wanted scenarios" Questions: Can I use HDMI 1440p@"whatever possible" with HDR enabled? (HDMI seems to have better blacktones as read in forums) Can Windows be used/configured to have 2 Monitors used like I explained in "wanted scenarios"? Windows will see 3 Monitors and I haven't had the chance to ever plug in 3 monitors for windows to use. Another idea of similar configurations if my plans fail? I've heard in Linus' videos that this community is always knowledgable and I hope I explained my situation enough. English is not my first language, but I hope that errors don't hopelessly destroy the meaning of what I wrote.

Hi all, I have recently bought an ASUS ROG STRIX XG32VQR monitor, and I think it is great for gaming. The problem is that I use my computer to work, and when I use, for example, Chrome, there appear a bunch of thin light-grey lines all over the image. Here is a video that talks about the problem: Does someone with the ASUS ROG STRIX XG32VQR experiment this problem? My only solution has been returning it to Amazon, but I like this monitor. I don't know if there is a solution with better cables or changing the monitor configuration. I would appreciate any help or opinion you can give me. Thanks in advance

I have a GTX 1080 Founders Edition and a ROG XG32VQR monitor I recently bought a Maximus XII Formula + i9 10900k I mounted updated bios and everything. When I start the PC with XG32VQR in DisplayPort I get Error Code D6 and 3 beeps + I cannot enter Bios. But when I try with another monitor with DisplayPort it doesn't beep and it doesn't show any Error Code When I start with HDMI it works and it does not beep. Anyone knows how to fix it? Is the problem at the monitor or the GPU Also the GPU benchmark at userbenchamark cannot be completed with any monitor or any cable Display or HDMI
