I've done a lot of research comparing a variety of monitors, and I'd love some opinions on what I've chosen and help pricing wise. I run Ryzen 3700X with a RTX 2070 Super (3x DP, 1x HDMI), and I'm looking for a 1440p, 144Hz IPS panel. This will be my new primary display (connected by Display Port), and a Dell SE2417HG (HDMI) will become my secondary. Additional ports on the monitor would be a plus so I can connect consoles as well as my PC. I play a lot of singleplayer games with non-competitive FPS mostly on the side. Through my research, I've landed on an ASUS PG279Q. I believe it's "primary competitor" is the ACER XB271HU, which is about $100 cheaper but from what I've been reading, the ASUS is superior, even if just slightly. From what I understand, the QA has improved since it was released so the IPS glow is less pronounced than it used to be. The $700 price point is a little high but not a dealbreaker for me; if anyone has suggestions on discounts/similar performing models at competitive/cheaper prices, I'd be interested to hear about those. Furthermore, is the PG279Q still a quality product 5 years post-release? I'd love to hear opinions on the PG279Q specifically, and any other suggestions would be appreciated. I honestly don't care about brand allegiances, and I'm more interested in price/performance as far as comparisons go, but any help is appreciated!

So I have kind of run the arguments through my head and I have come to a stalemate so I hope you guys could give me some perspective. What I am looking for is a high-end gaming monitor, 1440p, high refreshrates, IPS panel. G-sync is a nice to have, not a need. I have got some good offers on both slightly used and brand new monitors: 1. Acer X34A, slightly used - ~$770 2. Acer XB271HUbmiprz, slightly used - ~$590 3. Asus MG279Q, slightly used - ~$520 4. Acer XB271HUbmiprz, new - ~$855 5. Asus MG279Q, new - ~$665 6. Asus PG279Q, new - ~$885 So these are some of the things that have been bothering me the most: I have been using the LG 34UM95 as my main monitor and I highly appreciate the 21/9 aspect ratio but is it a good enough trade-off to get one of the 144/165hz models instead of the 100hz Acer X34A? Also is it worth going for 165hz over 144? Is tearing that big a deal at high refreshrates or should I just save the cash and go for the MG279Q? (using a GTX1070) Also I have heard rumors about bad QR across the board but mostly for the ASUS models. Can anyone inlighten my? If anyone has any order factors I might wanna consider or some other monitor models I really should know about plz let me know.

I just got this monitor and it seems everyone is preferring to make profiles of the IPS version of this monitor. This monitor has been out for almost a year now and I would really like to have an optimized profile for it. THIS IS THE TN VERSION. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT. I see so many people ask for what I'm asking and are given the IPS profiles.

Hey guys can you help me choose between these three monitor and explain why? 1. Dell S2716DG ($663 in my country) Known problem: Pixel inversion https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Gaming-S2716DG-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B0149QBOF0 2. Asus PG279Q ($998 in my country) Known problem: IPS Backlight bleed https://www.amazon.com/PG279Q-2560x1440-G-SYNC-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B017EVR2VM 3. Acer XB271HU ($953 in my country) Known Problem: IPS Backlight bleed https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-XB271HU-2560x1440-Display/dp/B0173PEX20 Price is a bit high in my country. I also need sugestions regarding the pixel inversion of the Dell is it noticeable? Note: Usually the shops in Indonesia doesn't offer a return if we are not satisfied with the products. Only when the product is defective then they MAY offer return. Cheers!

As the title says, I'm trying to decide between a single Acer Predator x34 or dual Acer Predator XB271HUs. I plan to build a new rig soon which I'll be using for gaming, live streaming on twitch, and light content creation using Photoshop and Audacity, and I wanted to know which monitor setup will best fit those needs based your personal experience with either monitor setup. I initially planned on having the dual XB271HU setup, but now I'm leaning more towards the single x34. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!

Hello, I have a Acer predator xb271hu 165hz IPs g sync monitor and I can't get it to run at 165hz with my temporary old bad gpu. the gpu is part of the AMD radeon hd 5700 series. It's called XFX Radeon HD 5750. My monitor is connected via displayport and I don't have the option to set it to 165hz neither do I have the option to set it to 144hz. Important note: I tried another monitor which had resolution 1920x1080 and 144hz capacity. The card could run 144hz without problems on that monitor. Important note 2: I tried lowering the resolution from 2560x1440 to 1920x1080 on this one but still it wasn't able to go above 100hz. I couldnt find the 165hz in the refreshrate option menu. I would be very greatful if someone could help me thank you very much!

Hi Everyone,I am building a new PC with RTX 2070 and ryzen 2700x and need a monitor for it. Earlier I finalized acer predator xb271hu IPS but later when Nvidia announced that it will start freesync support I got really confused. I came across LG 32GK650F and found that is works fine with GSync compatibility and is a great monitor too. Also if I get a freesync monitor I can still use it with an AMD card in future.Color accuracy of IPS panel is not a must for me and VA is also fine. Size of LG one could be a problem as its a 32 inch flat screen, if anyone has used it please let me know how u feel about the size. Can anyone suggest which monitor should I go with!!!Thanks!!

I have an asus predator XB271HU, the TN panel version. The problem is the screen is constantly displaying a blue light but with a back screen. This is regardless whether or not it’s connected to the pc. I’ve tried changing the power cable, holding the power botton etc Any way would like to know if anyone has any ideas or if the screen is just toast. Thanks Chris

Hey! So, I'll try to keep this relatively short. I recently bought an Acer XB271HU 144hz 1440p IPS monitor, and it is quite awesome. I have however noticed that I get quite noticeable overshoot/inverse ghosting when my overdrive setting is set to the balanced "normal" mode, which is clearly the best setting out of the three available options. The severity of it varies depending on for example the contrast difference between two adjacent colors. At its worst it can be quite distracting though. It always affects the edges of colors/objects, unlike with the OD setting set to "extreme", where the whole picture is clearly affected when movement is present. I run the monitor in 144hz and G-sync enabled, but g-sync doesn't have an effect on this. Here is something I recorded with my crappy camera to try and demonstrate what I am seeing. The video isn't perfect, I know, but you can nevertheless see the behavior I am talking about on it: If you pay attention to the sides of that white light, you can see very visible dark trailing even though the movement happening is quite mild. Also, the camera mitigates the effect a little. Don't get me wrong, I do acknowledge that most monitors get at least some overshoot with overdrive, but in my case it is more than I originally expected. So, is this behavior to be expected and it is just something I need to get used to, or could there actually be something wrong with the monitor itself? Or do the overshoot effects vary from unit to unit enough so to justify replacing my monitor with another one? I just want to know if I ended up with a unit that is a part of a "bad batch" or faulty in any way as I still have the option of returning the monitor and getting a replacement.I appreciate every informed reply/opinion I get!

Hello! I have recently bought Acer predator XB271HU - IPS 144hz Gsync monitor. While in Nvidia settings I am quite confused whether to: - use GPU scaling or Display scaling? - Default color settings or Nvidia color settings? PS: whenever I try to change my resolution in CSGO, csgo gets stuck and won't open until I have to force close it and open it again. (while opening it screen flickers, first desktop resolutions changes then again flickers and csgo opens with the specified resolution. Any fix? it didn't use to happen before.

Hey LTT Forums! So, I have an Acer Predator XB271HU 1440p 144/165Hz IPS GSync monitor, and it has *one* wee little scratch near the center of the right third of the screen. It's not terrible, I rarely notice it, and it seems to be extremely shallow. (Ignore the dust on the picture; I also need to clean it...) However, it would be really awesome if there were some way to safely get it to effectively disappear! I don't want to do anything that would risk damaging my monitor though. While I'm a pretty tech-enthusiastic consumer, my knowledge of hardware on that level isn't particularly extensive, and there have been a LOT of different display technologies over the years, some of which have had a reputation (whether true or not) for being particularly sensitive. There are a few suggested solutions that come up with a simple Google search, but I wanted to make sure I'm in the green before I actually try anything! It's not exactly a cheap monitor... Thanks in advance!

Hey folks, I'm interested in upgrading my monitor setup to a 27in 1440p 144+ g-sync jobby. My issue stems from the fact that I require a second monitor, and I'm a bit anal in that I'd like them to be as similar as possible. So what I'm asking, does anyone have any recommendations for a monitor that would pair well with either of these two monitors. I'd like this monitor to be a 27in 1440p IPS. Thanks in advance!

Hi! Is there any way to make the ps4 pro output at 4k and then downscale it to 1440p? I want to play the Play Station exclusives on my Predator XB271HU but the PS4 pro just outputs at 1080p.

Hi guys! I was planning to buy the Acer Predator XB271HU but I came across two different types of listings. One had the word 'bmiprz' next to the model number and the other one didn't. But, besides that, everything was the same, like IPS panel, 144 Hz refresh rate, 1440p resolution, etc. So, is there any difference between the two? Is the 'bmiprz' one a newer revision of the same model?

This monitor is able to natively overclock to 165hz and I was wondering if it was safe to keep it at this rate without damaging or greatly decreasing its life span?

Hey guys. So I'm debating getting the PG279Q or the Acer XB271HU. If you'd ask me a week ago I'd say the ROG Swift would be my choice no question. But now that I have seen both in person there's two things drawing me to the Acer. - The bezzles on the top and sides. Yes foot is ugly but using a VESA mount. - The possibly lower input lag. TFTCentrals review of the older XB270HU was measured with the lowest input lag of all 27/1440/144 IPS monitors. So can anyone confirm if the input lag on the XB271HU is the same as the older Acer...? From what I've heard these monitors use the same panel (279Q and 271HU) so maby it's identical? Why not just get the XB270HU? Glossy plastic....them bezzles....ugh. Thank you.

I first thought I would get the XB271HU but then I found some websites and people who said that the pg279q is better but then I found other people who said the opposite. I'm conflicted. Which one should I buy. Where I live the asus is almost a 100€ cheaper than the xb271hu

I just got a refurbished monitor off of Acer's Ebay, and the monitor keeps crashing every couple of minutes. It goes black screen, and the computer doesn't recognize it anymore, is this a monitor problem? Do I need to send it back in? Are there some drivers I'm missing or something? I have to unplug it from the wall every time to reset it

Hey guys, so yesterday the audio stopped going to my speakers on my Acer XB271HU. I've had it for about 3 weeks, and it has never been any problems, but yesterday all of a sudden it stopped working. I have changed the monitor as the standard unit, and when I play audio I see the green sound-bar go up and down, but no sound comes out. I have tried to up the volume on the monitor itself, and it is at the default value of 70. Audio works through my headphones. I'm using a display port. I have also tried connecting my pc to my tv via hdmi, which works as normal. Any suggestions? I find it so weird that it stopped working out of nowhere, when it was working fine earlier yesterday.
