My rig has been working ok for a while. It would shut down on me here and there so today I decided to clean out my tower and check on thermal paste. I’ve dusted my pc a few times so that wasn’t the big issue. I wanted to see if maybe the thermal paste was the issue or not. My thought was maybe I didn’t apply it correctly the first time so maybe it’s overheating. Cleaned off the old thermal paste and I added IC Dimond to it. Put my rig back together and now it won’t boot up and it’s showing the code bf on my motherboard. Or maybe it’s 6f. Either way it won’t boot and it will shut down after 15 seconds. Maybe I did something wrong. I mean I know I did something wrong. I just don’t know what. I got an X99 Deluxe motherboard. GTX 980.

Hey guys ! So i have I7 5820K bundled with Asus X99 Deluxe + 32Gb Mushkin 3200mhz 4x8GB sticks for quad channel . The problem is that whatever i do i can't go over 4.4 Ghz period. Right now i'm running 4.4Ghz with 1.304V and whatever i do i can't go higher than that. I even tried 1.35V for 4.5Ghz and it just freezes instantly after starting a benchmark or stress test. Is there anything i can do or it's just bad luck with silicone lottery. I've read that i shouldn't go over 1.3V for this chip or else i might damage it or if not i am going to reduce it's lifespan. I have almost every other setting in the bios with overclocking in mind like CPU Capability at 130% , Power Phase at Optimized etc. etc. I've been folowing guides and almost all the settings that needs to be changed are changed. If u need something to ask i'll answer everything . I'm running with DeepCool Gammax L240 cooler which keeps the CPU temps below 75 degrees at max load so i think that's good atleast.

I have a completed build: Windows 10 OS X99 Deluxe i7 5960X So here is my problem. The computer won't boot when I hit the power button. There is a periodic clicking noise if I hit the power button which I believe is the PSU trying to start. There doesn't seem to be a problem with my PSU though, because when I hold down the clear cmos button the computer will take me to a screen that says I need to enter BIOS to configure a raid setup (which I am not trying to do in this build). So after I enter BIOS I manually select my boot drive and windows starts and everything is fine. I can hit the reset button and the computer will start up fine again. I can also hit the power down button and it will power down fine. The problem occurs again after I hit the power button and try to boot up the pc. Then you can read from the beginning of the paragraph because the exact same issue is found. Any help is appreciated.

Hello, I am having background noise/static issues when trying to record audio. I have just purchased this equipment and this is the first setup. My setup: X99 Deluxe "speaker out" on rear of motherboard 3.5mm to 1/4" cable Yamaha MG06X mixer board - also has a Rode Procaster mic input on mixer 1/4" to 3.5mm cable X99 Deluxe "line in" on rear of motherboard Even when I plug in a cable to the front/rear "mic in" or "line in" and leave the other end unplugged there is a noise picked up by OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). This cable is supposedly shielded (Hosa CMP159 Stereo Breakout, 3.5 mm TRS to Dual 1/4 in TS, 10-Feet). I have also tried switching to the cable that came with my Audio Technica headphones and this input noise still appears. Any thoughts on how to fix this issue? This noise is very noticeable in recordings. Thanks for the assistance.

Hey guys, sometime near the 16th of February i will be building a fairly overkill PC, Question here is, what motherboard should i use for features/value: x99-A or x99 Deluxe (both asus) At some point i will definitely be overclocking the CPU to stretch a bit more life/performance out of it Does the x99 Deluxe have many features that make it worth the price? (pricing is in AUD, $450 for x99A or cheapest deluxe i could find was $570 others were around $715+) Rest of build: H110i GT cpu cooler 2 x Gigabyte g1 GTX 980ti 16gb dual channel 2666mhz ram (no brand yet) intel i7 5820k 2 x 500gb samsung evo NZXT noctis 450 case HX 1000i platinum PSU Acer XB270HU 27" IPS 4ms 1440p 144hz GSync monitor

ok, so i attempted an overclock (my first time ever) using AI suit, it tried going to 4.0, then 4.5, then continued BSOD. so after a few resets, i figured out how to set the values myself, and i tried for 4.0 GHz, which i seem to have gotten, but im getting different system reports. this is my CPU usage gadget this is AI suit CPU-Z and task manager so what should i be believing here? did i get to 4.0 GHz with only minor headache, or did i miss something? thanks.

All you Asus X99 Deluxe owners are you successful in setting up NIC teaming using the Intel I218V and an I211 NICs? or perhaps can anyone suggest a different method of setting up a Static Link Aggregation Team? The only other article i can find out there is for the insider preview. https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/a83f1da6-b6b9-46b9-b589-8964fa473fb6/nic-teaming?forum=WinPreview2014General

Asus X99 Deluxe a problem, bought in September kept having issues... first board had bended cpu pins returned it when I saw this, then second board Fried and Killed not only the board itself but took my video card Asus 690 GTX then every month pretty much had to return the board random mouse and keyboard not working. changed obviously mouse and keyboard to try ... same thing.. kept reveiving other rmas once the controller usb asmedia died so returned for that and the lastest 2 boards well usb wouldn't always work at windows login sometimes mouse also... now yesterday received a new x99 deluxe so I rebuild my right with that board and booted... what do I see only 12 gigs of ram? I got 16 gig what the hell ? reseated the Ram nothing tried another stick same result C1 slot dead asus tech said agreed ... I was like why the hell don't u test your rma boards? now I had today to ship not only the board I had issues with but the new rma that is defective right off the bat... so nice... I had changed all my hardware ... intel sent me a new cpu I changed my psu to a new top of the line corsair 1200w and a new Samsung 850 pro with windows 7 pro, reinstall windows... nothing when I tried to boot with the board that has a bad c1 slot I couldn't login no keyboard would work at all. I simply decided to reinstall My old Asus X79 Deluxe, I have no issues with it... im not overclocking the cpu, I was running my DDR4 Gskill 3000 MHz at rated timing voltages. contacted intel they said the ram speed altho overclocking wouldn't cause usb issues.. it seems to be motherboard related from intels perspective. anyways tried to ask for an exchange to upgrade to rampage V extreme x99 maybe it wouldn't have all those issues. they said no, I offered to pay difference between model they said again... no! asked for a refund....No! asked for a supervisor .... they said no! they will ship me RMAs until warranty is done... wow that's such a great news! anyways ive build computers for 20+ years. ive never had remotely close to this headache of a motherboard,' My x79 runs nice ... whats up with with x99 ? quality control...? anyways any help at this point is appreciated or suggestion. the way I see it ill either never have a working product and the warranty will go out... or they will eventually upgrade me to the next platform when the 100X series chipset comes out.

I will start when the first issue aroused about a week ago now. I was playing a game on steam (Dota 2) and also browsing the web on my second monitor. All of the sudden the game freezes (this has never happened prior to this.) I have no choice but to restart the computer while in it's frozen state. Upon reboot windows trys to repair itself but the repair fails. After many attempts of repairs and restarts I decide to try to the other options on the BSOD. I try all options (restore, safe mode, etc.) except for the refresh option. Every once in awhile I will get the log file on the BSOD that says "F:Windows/System32/Logfiles/srt.srttrailtxt." After researching this message I try a few things in the command prompt which include running "CHKDSK/R/F" and also "sfc/scan now" After the sfc/scannow scan I get this... "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not supported in offline servicing scenarios. The system file repair changes will take effect after the next reboot." This message was not as optimistic as it sounds as I still can't get the computer up and running. I decide I have no choice but to "refresh the pc". I try all options (restore, safe mode, etc.) After all those options fail I decide I have no choice but to refresh the pc. After the refresh I start downloading the basic drivers from asus, windows updates and so forth. I download steam, and origin as well. I downloaded two games I have on steam and then proceeded to download the two games I have from Origin (Crysis 3, Titanfall.) While downloading these games it will freeze after a few minutes and I will force reboot. I then delete Orgin from the PC and reinstall it. I try downloading the games again. Crysis 3 downloaded successfully but Titan fails to download. Upon trying to download this game I get two error messages. The first message from Windows says... "Titanfall Audio Installer Error Titanfall Audio Installation failed! Could not read 114899 bytes at offset 161897669 in pak file " //?/c:/Program Files (x86)/Orgin Games/Titanfall/cpk/Client_mp_common.bsp.pal000_oo5.vpk 0x0000045D: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error." The second message is from Orgin and says... Titanfall Error. A redisabutional package (audo_installer.exe) was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue. (1) After restart the computer becomes extremely slow and unresponsive. Running almost any application causes the computer to freeze which forces me to restart. During this time I figured this wouldn't hurt so I updated my BIOS on the X99 deluxe to the latest version. The computer will get to the desktop but is not usable due to the crashes and slow behavior. Now i'm more lost than ever and decide to just do a clean install of Windows 8.1. This seems to work so I download the x99 drivers first, and then I try to download the latest GTX 980 graphics driver. It will start downloading but eventually the screens cut out black and never turn back on. ( The monitor should restart during the install of the new GPU driver but they should turn back on) Now I have to force restart again. This is where I am as of right now. I have no idea what to do. I am assuming that this is an issue with latest graphics driver from nvidia? Maybe someone else has had the same issue with the latest 980 driver? Is there something else I did wrong? Maybe the SSD or graphics card is faulty? My computer was working flawlessly up until the first issue on Saturday 2/7/15. I am so stressed out over this and am so thankful to anyone who could give some advice. Hi everyone, I just have a quick compatibility question. I have an Asus X99 Deluxe motherboard, and I want to put a Cryorig R1 Universal on it. My only problem is that I have high profile memory, and I need the slots on both sides of the motherboard. Will the cooler cover up those ram slots? I have Patriot Viper Xtreme DDR4 if that helps. Thanks!

I will cover everything I did prior to this problem in cases something I did earlier messed it up. I have a new build and everything was working perfect for two days. I loaded windows, was able to download all the drivers off the ASUS cd that came with my motherboard. I was even playing a couple games with no problems. Everything was going great. Then the internet disconnected, and no networks could be found even though there is at least ten within range. I didn't think much of this at first so in the mean time I updated the bios from 804 to 1103 for the x99 deluxe. I found out that in device manager that the "network driver wasn't working properly". I restored the computer to a date when the internet was working but that didn't do anything. Then I reinstalled windows and that did not fix anything either. After reinstalling windows, I attemped to load the drivers that came with the X99 deluxe motherboard. All the drivers loaded except the Bluetooth 4.0/ WiFi Driver. When it gets to this driver windows freezes forcing me to restart the computer. After a few restarts like this I get the BSOD with error message "Whea_Uncorrectable_Error". I have researched this message and tried doing some trouble shooting steps I found on the internet. I ran CHKDSC in the command prompt and no issues came up. I also did a memory test and no issues came up. I currently just bought a 25ft ethernet cable so I could get connected to the internet. I did all the windows updates and still my computer freezes when I try loading the bluetooth/wifi driver. I also have also tried getting the latest version from the ASUS website and still it freezes. What does this mean? Why was I able to install this driver the first time not now? What should I do now?

I could go into far more detail into beginning of this problem but I'll keep it as short as possible. I have a new build and everything was working perfect for two days. Hello Guys Recently I have built my very first PC so I am still kind of a noob. I have a custom water cooling loop to cool my 5820k at 4.3ghz. ( Anything above 4.3ghz causes bsod and an error saying "whea_uncorrectable_error_) Yet I dont know how 360 xt45 rad, D5 pump/ res combo, ek ltx waterblock and noctua thermal grease can allow the cpu to reach 90 degrees after 10 min of running prime95. If anyone has any suggestions can you please comment below. Any kind of advice will be much appreciated.

Alright, so I just built my first pc and in most of the "Build a PC" videos they say after installing the OS that you should update all the drivers. Well I updated most of the drivers but I saw a bunch of info on why you shouldn't ever update BIOS and how it can ruin your MB forever. Well I'm using a Asus X99 Deluxe motherboard and I think you have to update it with USB. So I downloaded the bios onto the USB drive but now I don't know if I should do it. Should I? Also when I was on Asus's website they had 46 files located under "Drivers and Tools" for windows 8.1, you can see here http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/X99DELUXE/HelpDesk_Download/ I'm a bit confused, do I update all of these? or will just updating to "BIOS 1104" include all of these? They also have two other tabs including "Memory/Device Support" and "CPU Support", Do I need these as well? This again is my first build and any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I will start from the beginning in case something I did prior to problem broke something. So I just built this new pc and everything was working perfect for two days. Then the wireless internet stopped working. I didn't think much of this at first but I figured I would update the bios on the X99 deluxe motherboard to the latest version and fix the internet later. The BIOS was successfully updated from version 804 to 1103. Now I started on the internet issue. It didn't seem to be any common issue I encountered before. There was no networks availabe which seemed odd. After some searching it appeared the network driver wasn't working. I then tried to download the driver again on the CD that came with the X99 deluxe motherboard. That didn't fix the problem. I figured I would use the "restore my pc" setting on windows to go back to date that the internet was working on the pc. Well this is where the real issues started. Windows would get to part with the windows logo and the spinning circle of dots and then freeze. I restarted the computer numerous times and once it actually got to the desktop. It still would freeze though when I restarted the computer again. Now I figured I might as well reload windows completely. I reloaded windows and then tried to load the drivers that came on a cd with the X99 Deluxe motherboard. The drivers started to load and the computer restarted as it should when downloading the drivers. The computer then started completing the downloading of the drivers but gets to part 9 of 12 and freezes. I restarted the pc and it starts downloading the rest of the drivers and freezes on the same spot everytime (part 9 or 12). I restarted the pc again and then this message comes up. "Windows has found a problem and needs to restart.....WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR" Now I don't know what to do. Any help is greatly appreciated and I would be forever in debt to you!!

So I just finished all the cable management in my system which is the final step in the competion of my rig. Only there is one cable that is not plugged in and that is the g 1/4" temperature plug. It is a two pin connector that is attached to the reservoir, I just have no idea where to plug it in the motherboard. I am using the X99 Deluxe motherboard from Asus and I don't have any idea where to plug it in. I have looked in the manuel but no luck. Does anybody know where to plug in the temp sensor into this motherboard??

Ok, so got all of my X99 awesomeness today, and it all works so good, except one thing.. the M.2 SSD will (for some reason) not be detected/show up. Don't get me wrong, it's not like it's not correctly put in to the socket etc, no physical interface that's not connected as it should be. It makes no difference if it's put in to the on-board M.2X4 slot, or the Asus Hyper M.2 X 4 Card that was included (and is clearly working, as the power-led works etc), it just doesn't appear in the BIOS or OS. What could I be forgetting? Could it be that the board needs some hotfix or beta-bios installed for it to work? The M.2 SSD is a Cruicial M500 240GB, and it's brand new, doesn't appear to have any form of damage from the shipping and such. Anyone have any clue what's going on?
