Hej i'm kinda in the need for better cooling, been looking at NZXT Kraken x61 or corsair H115i. what would you choose for a AIO system ?? and how would you configure it push or pull ??

So I bought a Kraken X61 for my 7700k (OC 4.8ghz, no delid) in october and although it was making crackling noises before (more on that later), after I "fixed" it it was working fine, I never heard it again but then it started doing it again about one or two weeks ago. Performance-wise everything is ok. CPU's not overheating as far as I can tell, no performance hits in games (With every possible settings set to highest and in a busy area: Witcher 3: 110-140 fps, PUBG: 70-100, Destiny 2 with render res at 185%: 60-80, CPU never goes above 80C), no bottlenecks, but if the cpu is under load after 15-30 minutes it starts to make crackling noises. It's definitely the pump part and not the fans and I highly doubt it's air bubbles since the crackling is not present all the time. The crackling doesn't start immediately but more like winds up. It's fine for a while, then it starts quietly and slowly gets more and more loud, same when I stop gaming. It slowly gets quieter and quieter and then it goes away completely. It is nowhere near as loud as some examples I found on youtube but when you hear it you can not unhear it, it's there, it's annoying and worrying. Originally when I first installed the cooler the crackling was HORRIBLE. Loud as hell, I honestly thought it's gonna fall apart. I tried some settings in the CAM software and someone on the internet suggested to set the cpu fan speed to 100% in the bios. Didn't help. Then I figured I'm gonna close the CAM software to test it. Bamm. No more crackling noise...at all. Nothing. Close the software, works fine, start it up and it wants to fall apart on any default settings as soon as it's under load. So I set the lightning effects, closed the program, uninstalled it, even disabled everything cam related in the registry and it was working fine up until around last week. Any ideas? My specs: - Case: Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX Tempered Glass Edition- Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VIII Ranger- CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-7700K - CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X61 (Top mounted radiator)- Memory: HyperX 16GB Fury DDR4 2400MHz- Graphics card: ASUS ROG STRIX Geforce GTX 1080ti OC- Powersupply: CORSAIR CS Series Modular CS850M Operating system is a genuine windows 10 with the latest updates. Every driver including the mobo bios is up-to-date (I keep close watch on updates so no, nothing is out dated)

Hi all, So, I am building a new PC via upgrades and I have a CoolerMaster MasterCase 5 (for a bargain price of £43) and wanting an AIO water cooler because why wouldn't you. I was torn between the Corsair H100i GTX and the Kraken X61, I have chosen to go with the Kraken for the deep down real honest opinion that we all resort to when making a decision between two, it looks better. I am going to have it installed in the top radiator bracket add-on thing available for the MasterCase in a pull config, after trailing through the case specifications, hundreds of forums and even EMAILING COOLERMASTER SUPPORT, they all say no, it will not fit, you will have to fit it in the front. Well, no, I want it on the top, IMO the tubes going from your cpu to the front across everything doesn't look as nice as them going upwards. However, if you search Kraken X61 in PCPartPicker Uk, look through builds including it and select the case to be a MasterCase. Boom, 2 builds have it installed in the top. (the top and bottom, Red Devil and CoolMaster) Proof that it does, you might even see two comments from me asking this question. Now I realise that by having the optical bay cage installed you have no room for the radiator and you HAVE to have the fans on the top for it to fit. Two very fair sacrifices in my opinion. So....it does fit. Anyone else here have a MasterCase 5 with a Kraken X61 installed in the top bracket?? Anyone have any issues (Please note that "it was a ballache fitting it" is an issue but one I do not care about, I will succeed) or anything that needs to be mentioned? I really want this AIO cooler as the pump and the LEDs look far better in my opinion than the H100iGTX, but if there are issues of under performance, cutting of space for cables etc. I would like to know before I send my pennies flying at it. Thanks for reading Dan

Hi Guys, just want to ask you experienced folks to see if my setup is OK. I've seen multiple online sources with the same setup but their CPU Core temperature does not exceed 70 Deg. C. Anyone with same setup kindly share their numbers? Any ideas what may be wrong? What baffles me is that so many people are reporting an idle temperature of around 20 Deg., and never over 70 Deg. under full load at stock (even with mild OC at 4.5~4.6GHz). But I am getting the same temperatures at stock (non-OC) near the 70 Deg. mark and once I OC I hit the early 80 Deg. mark. My ambient room temperature is around 27~27.5 Deg. C. 4.6GHz Overclock My CPU core temp seems to be higher than others: (Going over 80 Deg.) Current Min. Max. Avg. But that had little effect CPU Core Temps. I have my Kraken X61 water pump cable connected to the W_PUMP pin on my ROG VIII Hero Alpha m/b. The 2x fan cables on the Kraken X61 are connected to some molex power leads and a SATA power lead. Finally, the USB cable from the Kraken goes straight to a USB header on the m/b. I think this set up bypasses the Q-FAN control in UEFI? Because I was able to see both pump speed and fan speed in CAM before turning Q-FAN CPU control, and by turning Q-FAN CPU off didn't make any difference. I'm buying an AIO water cooler and I need your help to determine which one I should use for an NZXT H440. It will be mounted on the top side of the case and would value your recommendation.

If I were to buy AIO Coolers, one for the CPU and one for the GPU (i5-3570k, GTX 660Ti PE OC), would I need 1 AIO for each component? Is there a simpler way? I was looking at the NZXT Kraken X61 and the NZXT G10. Are there ways to connect them? I'm just very curious about how someone would connect everything in a single loop, given the two restricted components and not resorting to custom loops. Are there other AIOs that would work for this situation?
-
Hey guys, I'm really thinking hard about my next build using AIO cooling instead of air. I'm not experienced/brave enough to try a custom loop yet, so just looking at AIO's. However, I'm very worried about AIO reliability, specifically -leaks. Since I'm going to build a high-end X99 rig, I'm very worried about leaks destroying my components. I will be using the NZXT Kraken X61 to cool a 5930K, and a pair of EVGA 980ti Hybrid's in SLI. Now, it's not a problem if fans or pumps break down, however I'm VERY worried about leaks, and this is my question: For how long could I expect an AIO, like the ones mentioned above, to last without leaks? Do they get more prone to leaks due to tube aging as they get older? Is there anything I could do to ensure I never have any leaks? Thanks in advance for all your help!

Hi, Title pretty much sums it up, but I'm planning a custom PC build (my first one) and it's going to be a dual boot Windows 10/Linux Mint system that will incorporate an X61 for CPU cooling. Anyone have any experience with the X61 on Linux (I'd imagine most distros would behave the same so any in general)? I found this thread on Reddit where it's stated that you can set the settings for the cooler like pump speed and LED color in Windows, then boot into Linux and the settings will be preserved within some RAM in the cooler. Can anyone verify/contradict this in their own experience? Any input would be greatly appreciated as I may end up having to change AIO coolers if the X61 won't run somewhat properly in Linux (where I'm hoping to do my day-to-day work in instead of in Windows). Thanks in advance!

Hello all, I have an R9 390 I'm generally very happy with, performance is brilliant, however it does tend to get a little hot; especially when playing Witcher 3. One issue is definitely that I keep my room a little warmer than normal however that doesn't really account for it; the temperatures are 51-54C at idle, 78-84C in-game. I've included a photo to show what I think the issue might be. I'm using a Noctua NH-C14 at the moment which sits right in the way of both exhaust fans and also blows hot air down onto the motherboard leaving the hot air from the GPU with no-where to go (see attached photo). I was wondering whether changing the cooler to a Kraken x61 might improve the situation by at least a few degrees, do you think it might help? I want to go dual card when the 390 starts to get overwhelmed but I'm not sure that is sensible with these temps! Any help would be much appreciated.

So i have ordered a Kraken x61 for my new build in my NZXT s340 case, along with some Thermelake Riing SP fans. I know that it will fit in the case with the fans toward the front of the case and radiator behind them, but i would like the radiator in the front with fans closer to the inside in a pull config, so you can see the LED lit ring on the fans from the window, If that makes since. I have done some research in how to mount the radiator in this way, but found nothing but the known "fans in front and radiator behind" with a few posts/videos stating that because of the USB, Power LED, ect ect,on the case that you can't mount the radiator in front because of the wires that are in the way. So to conclude, i need some help with getting the x61 mounted the way i like, and if anyone has any experience with this or even some ideas on how to get it in there, it would be greatly appreciated Thank you

Hey all, I was thinking of purchasing a Kraken X61, so that I could get a near silent/very quiet CPU cooler, still with great performance. Just wondering if this fits those criteria. Could you please respond with any experiences with this cooler, and if there is a better one available, could you please reccomend it! Thanks all!

I have been looking at some AIO water coolers recently and I don't know which one to get. EDIT: I am going to get either the Kraken x61 or Swiftech h220-x or h240-x. The h220-x beats the x61, but it is smaller, so should I get the h240-x or h220-x or the x61 because of price and aesthetics. I really like the looks of the x61 and I have a NZXT case so the NZXT cooler would match my build and I could use the NZXT cam program to control it. The Swiftech doesn't have a program for it. It has PWM though. Also the h220-x is expandable, but the x61 has higher pump speed and higher fan speed. What do I get?????? I have a i7-6700k and Noctis 450 case.

I have two NF-A14's on a radiator mounted horizontally, when the fans are pushed to 100% one of them(or both) begins to click, this issue has only just started. Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtJkpJj98M4

Yo, so, after some advice I will be moving my Kraken X61 to the front of my case (H440) and I need your suggestions on good static pressure fans for push/pull that will not destroy my wallet (and ears) in the process (I am talking about you, Noctua) So go ahead and suggest some fans Thanks EDIT - 140mm+PWM fans btw

Last summer I built my first PC in over 10 years with the intention of overclocking a little. Unfortunately due to work commitments I never got around to the overclock but this week I've been trying to dial it in and I've hit a bit of a wall where I think I need an experienced eye to help me identify an issue before proceeding. Any help is genuinely appreciated! My spec: 4790K Asus Z97 Deluxe 16gb Corsair vengence pro 2133 Corsair RM1000 Corsair H100i + included fans EVGA 780 Classified ACX Win 8.1 Phanteks Enthoo Pro 3x Corsair AF140 fans Now to the issue.... My CPU temps always seem a little high, even when I was running stock settings - very noticibly on idle and full load. When I was running 4.4ghz at 1.2517v my Aida 64 stress test temps were 77/77/77/71 (I didnt record idle temps). Currenly I'm running 4.6ghz at 1.2776v and my temps are 78/78/79/71, and when running Firestrike I hit max temps of 64/63/64/55. Both sets of temps seem too high compared to what I have read/watched with other people running similar components. When reading up on this earlier, I read a brief comment about a user that had found his H100i block hadn't seated properly on his CPU so he had to add washers and clamp it tighter. I'm a little scared of doing this in case I cause damage to the board, since I'm quite inexperienced with this kind of thing. Right now with firefox and Core Temp running my "idle" temps are 33/33/25/28. Is it just my voltages being a little high causing the temps? On the LTT "Intel Devil's Canyon & Pentium G3258 Anniversary Edition Overclocking Guide" video, using an H100 Linus managed 4.8ghz with a max temp of 65c... Is it just that his is a better OC? ***EDIT***Updated below with NZXT Kraken X61 and lower temps!

Hey, I would like advice regarding the choice of my water cooler. I'm planning to buy these parts for my build : http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/Z2Qxqs but i can't choose between these two water cooler. (Corsair H100i GTX vs NZXT Kraken X61) The H100i GTX is 240mm, it allows me to add a 120mm fan next to it on the top of my case. The Kraken x61 is 280mm and I can't add a fan next to it. The kraken x61 is $145 CAD and the H100i GTX is $119 CAD + $20 CAD for the extra fan that i can put. In short, it comes back to me about the same price, but one gives me room for a fan on the top of my case and one give me 40mm more surface area on my radiator. Which one is the best for me? Can you help me. Sorry for my english. Thanks.

Greetings, I've ordered a Kraken X61 from NZXT for my new build (case is Define S from Fractal Design). I'm planning to have the radiator at front with push/pull setup acting as intake, and one 140mm fan as extract at the back, creating a positive pressure configuration. The fans from NZXT are very efficient but also very loud, so I would like to order different fans before installing, and my current choice is to replace them with Noctua NF-A14 PWM. NZXT FX V2 140mm Performance PWM => 106.1CFM / 1.97mmH2O / 37dBA (@2000rpm) Noctua NF-A14 PWM => 82.5CFM / 2.08mmH2O / 24.6dBA (@1500rpm) | 67.9CFM / 1.51mmH2O / 19.2dBA (@1200rpm) CFM is lower but static pressure is better, which in my understanding is what makes the most sense for push config with a radiator. As for the push/pull configuration, I would have 2 * NF-A14 running at max 1500rpm for push (static pressure) and then use the 2 GP-14 from Fractal Design provided with the case for pull. I would then get a third NF-A14 to put at the back of the case for extract. Other ideas for airflow fan (for extract at the back or for pull on radiator): - Phanteks PH-F140HP (88.6CFM, 1.64mmH2O, 19dBA, 1300rpm) - Phanteks PH-F140XP PWM (85.19CFM, 1.52mmH2O, 19dBA, 1200rpm) - Fractal Design GP-14 (68.4CFM, 0.71mmH2O, 18.9dBA, 1000rpm) - NZXT FX V2 forced to 5V (??? CFM, 18 dBA, 750 RPM) (see http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1408-page5.html) Any thoughts/advice on this please?

I'm planning out some upgrades for the coming months, and would really like to know. Is there any significant difference between the two coolers? Should I maybe try to get a Kelvin S36 or H320? They will be cooling an i7 4790K at 4.7GHz/1.325V, probably in a Corsair 780T.

I know, i know, this isn't a fair comparison when one is obviously superior and costs more but, my budget allows both coolers and this is my first pc i'm going to build so i need some help choosing it. One of my main concerns in the 'price-to-comparison' where i should get the H100i and 'maybe' just save the money. I will be getting an i7-4790K for OC so lower temps would definitely help. My signature should show my future rig except the cooler, ignore the cooler. Aesthetically, i prefer the NZXT one for the colour control and the white fans but those are easily removable/changed. The price i've checked is also only a slight difference (~10 bucks) on the Australian Partpicker as...I live in Australia, the Amazon prices will need to be converted to AUD instead of USD. Hope you guys could help me make a decision (: Ty
