Greetings!!! i am looking forward to build a budget 3d modelling Pc using softwares such as 3ds max, Blender, Vray and bit of animation as well.... My options available in area are hp z600 with Dual xeon x5675 (12 core 24 threads) and possibly a Rx570 4gb. Else i have an option for hp z440 with xeon e5 1650 or a similar 6 core cpu and rx 570 as these are costing me about the same in my budget.. I have been told that x58 platform lacks Avx support hence its limitations but still confused as i need my render times to be reasonable... Looking forward for you opinions thanks

Okay I have a Intel Xeon x5670 and an MSI x58 V 3.1 and I cannot overclock this thing. I am trying to get this CPU up to 4Ghz which I know it is capable of you can look it up. Now when I first overclocked I only raised the first number that was like 20 or something like that and I raised the multiplier by and few. so after I did that I got into a boot loop computer will come on for a few seconds and kick off wash rinse repeat. Now when I did that the voltage to and I think that's what caused the boot loop so I cleared CMOS went back into the settings read it everything the exact same way I did it but except I didn't up the voltage and when I didn't the voltage the fans just kicked on and no image on the screen. So I'm at a loss do I up the voltage do I got up the voltage do I play with the multiplier I have no idea overclock I need to know how to do this it's driving me nuts Xeon that their base frequency aren't good for everyday use.

Hello, so this is my config: Xeon x5670 Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R rev 1.0 with the newest bios 3x 4GB Kingston HyperX HKX1600C10D3/8G tripple channel I recently put my hands on this whole setup (with memory) as i brough it all for like $160 so the price to performance ratio was too good to ignore it. As far i managed to OC it to 3.91 GHz with all power saving features enabled. But the voltage... to make it stable i had to use 1.3 cpu vcore which seems high, i heard 1.3v is the maximum "safe" voltage on this chip, because the "voltage spike" might occur and increase the voltage up to +0.05v, and any voltage above 1.35v is dangerous to this chip (intel specs). Anyway, i dont think that too low voltage is the issue. Temps are quite ok, from 34-40 when completely idle, from 40-50 when doing light tasks like watching youtube + browsing web + few other light apps, to 70-75 on hottest core when stresstesting. I tried to lower the multiplier to 20 and setting blck to 200 and memory multiplier to make it round 1600 with all stock latency etc to be sure memory is not the problem - it didnt even post, had to reset the cmos. I tried to downclock the memory with my current 22x multiplier to be as close to/bit lower than stock 1600 and setting latencies on stock - still if I'm getting above 3.91 its not stable, no matter what. Any magic trick that i missed? Anyone had similar setup and managed to solve similar issue? I heard 4.0 GHz oc is easy even on x5650, so i was hoping for, like 4.2 on my x5670 but cant get past 3.91 :c Full config on the screens

I have a x5670 running on a x58 MSI Pro- e and I just can't seem to find anybody with an overclocking video on it. There's so many options you have to take into account when overclocking on x58 boards because its not just bump up the bc and run with it ive tried. So I'm looking for someone who can aid me at overclocking this processor.

So I've been stuck for years with a 2011 quad core AMD laptop with integrated graphics, which really has been slowing me down lately. I've spent the past half a year researching into the world of budget PC building, and a certain mobo+cpu combo has caught my attention. My purposes are: - Music production on FL Studio (a lot!) - Some moderate video editing - Some light gaming I already have a GTX 760 passed on from another person in my family, so all I really need is a good motherboard and cpu combo, and ram, hdd and all the rest. My total budget is between $200-300, and I really want to get out the maximum performance/price. I have my eyes Xeon x5670 and an Asus P6T SE for around $150. It is a 6 core 12 thread which should be great for production, and it can be overclocked to above 4GHz, which I believe is enough to keep up with the GTX760. I know x58 is an old architecture, with PCIE 2, USB 2, and SATA 2, but I only want to use one GPU without SLI, an 1GB HDD is more than fast enough for me, and USB 2.0 has never bothered me too much on my old laptop. So it worth the buy for the combo, or are there better CPU + Motherboards for $200 or less that can outperform multithreaded tasks, still keep up with the GPU and have more efficient architecutre? I'm open to any recommendations! Thanks

Sorry for my bad english I am curious about my 6 cores 12 thread Xeon X5670 processor.. i wanna know what it is capable of and i also wanted to know that with what i5 or i7 processor it is comparable to in gaming performance..

Hey guyz. Sorry for my bad english.. Before getting started i live in a asian where buying computer parts are harder then it looks.. ebay, amazon , new egg and other famous websites don't work for my country for some reasons.. it's a shame that zen 2 isn't available in my country yet.. and if it will avail in future it will be so expensive due to its rarity.. Now come to the topic i have an x5670 and a compatible ddr3 8 gb ram and a gpu.. all i want is an x58 motherboard and i know that these chips are very good in overclocking.. due to having all the parts of this platform except motherboard.. should i buy an x58 motherboard? I found an x58 motherboard which looks quite new for 35$ it was an asus sabertooth.. so should i buy that? My only concern is gaming nothing else.. and another question is can this platform serve me for atleast 2 years? I need 1080p 60fps gaming.

Hey guyz.. Sorry for my bad english.. I have an x58 system.. asus p6t with x5670 and thermal take smart 650 watt psu.. i think my x5670 is not good in overclocking because i was able to achieve 4.2 ghz at 1.38v .. lowering voltage then this affect the stability.. now i talked to someone who is ready to exchange my x5670 with an x5675 which is according to my research is a mad overclocking cpu.. i wanna know is it mostly the cpu which effect the overclocking or it could be a mobo.. according to my knowledge asus x58 mobo are good in overclocking.. so i am thinking it is my cpu.. not the mobo.. and i should give x5675 a try.. what do you think?

Hey guyz.. Sorry for my bad english.. I have a x5670 and an asus p6t mobo.. an r9 380 gb and a thermal take smart 650w psu.. i think i have bad cpu.. bcause i watched tech yes city and almost every guide on google and youtube.. but i can't push my x5670 to 4.5 ghz .. my cooler is cooler master masterair ma410p with 2 fans.. i was able to hit 4.2 ghz at 1.38v .. uncore at 3.4 ghz at 1.37 volt and memory at 2000mhz at 1.64v.. pll voltage are at 1.9 and ioh voltages are at 1.16v.. is there any thing i can try to achieve to get atleast 4.4ghz? I have 22x multiplier and 191 bclk.. though my bios allow me to up the multiplier to 24x but it doesn't stick to that.. is there any thing i could try? Please i wans 4.4 ghz atleast

Hey guyz Sorry for my bad english I have asus p6t x58 mobo with an x5670.. thermal take smart 650w psu and cooler master masterair ma410p cooler with 2 fans..i am overclocking my cpu for two days trying each and everything.. and this is what i got.. my stock clock speed was 3.3ghz and ram was 1600mhz.. i overclocked it to 4.3 ghz at 1.38 volt .. my uncore is at 3.6ghz at 1.45 volts and ram is oc to 2000mhz.. at 1.64v i tried to lower the voltages on everything but this is the edge.. the system is not stable in less voltage then this. Pll voltage are at 1.9v .. I tried to overclock it more but i can't achieve 4.4 ghz at 1.4v and more then that volts makes my cpu a bit toasty and it throttles .. i tried to change everything beleive me.. i just wanna ask is it a good overclock? My stock cinebench score was 705cb Overclocked cinebench score is 1003cb

So I've recently purchased a Xeon x5670 for really cheap, along with a motherboard, Asus Sabertooth X58 total for both were ~200USD. As well as a newish GPU, PowerColor RX 580 8GB Red devil golden sample for ~160USD (all is used of course). I'm a very novice builder so I don't really know too much, the main purpose of my machine is gaming. I usually play games like GTA V, BF1, DOOM 2016, Wolfenstein(New Order, Old Blood, and New Colossus), and Garry's Mod(this is just a brief summary of the games that I like to play). After watching a video by Tech YES USA he really made it seem like the x56's are quite the nice CPU, is this true? Any response would be greatly appreciated!

Hey guyz sorry for my bad english. i have a dell precision t3500 with 525 watt psu and 8 gb ddr3 ram and the point is i have two cpu which are compatible to my mobo one is w3565 which is a 4 core 8 thread cpu clocked at 3.20 turbo upto 3.46 ghz and on other hand i have x5670 which is right now connected to my pc it is a 6 core processor with 12 thread but it is clocked at 2.93 ghz and turbo upto 3.33 ghz the reason i connected this cpu to my pc because i do some editing but that's not the main concern the main concern is gaming i don't have a good gpu i am saving some money for an r9 380 which is quite cheap because i am purchasing it from my friend so i can't benchmark it right now and also i dont want to create a mess by benchmarking and changing my processor again and again coz i do a job and don't have enough time to do this.. i m quite confuse about having less cores but stronger or have more cores which are not much stronger.. so please tell me what should i connect to my pc and after some time try to sell the another.. and look guyz i cant buy another processor because in my country ebay, amazon, new egg and other famous websites doesn't quite work and also i am saving some money for gpu right now.. so tell me guyz which processor is the best out of those for GAMING.. also wanted to mention some games which i am planning to play on that.. CS:GO Fortinte PUBG GTA 5 DOOM WWE 2k18

The titles i wanted to run is PUBG, fortnite, doom, gta 5, wwe 2k18 and more.. also i know pubg is not well optimized but i am happy at 50 fps with pubg.. i can't build my pc woth scratch and also in my online store the x5670 is the best option for my mobo so can't upgrade that.. now suggest me some graphic cards... And plz tell me alot so i can pick one of them easily because there could be a shortage of some of the cards in my store Thanks

Hey guyz.. Sorry for my bad english I have only two options.. xeon x5670 and w3565.. i have to spend 20$ more for x5670 .. i wanted to ask which is better for gaming.. i can spend 20$ more for x5670 if it is better for gaming.. i know it has more cores and threads but a littlle bit lower clock speed.. and i cannot overclock them I don't have a overclocking board.. i also make videos for youtube so i know more cores help in that but the main purpose is gaming so tell me that x5670 is better then w3565 in terms of gaming? Btw overall specs are W3565 8 gb ram 525 watt powersupply Hd 7450.. but i will change the gpu to the rx 460 or r9 270" or a gtx 750ti
