Hi, I have a Biostar X470NH that is paired with a 5600. I quickly realised it is stuck just below 3.5GHz. After some googling I found a Reddit thread with the exact same problem and it said the fix was Biostar giving them a modified bios that has the CPB unlocked. I tried contacting their support but it has been a week without any responses. In my current bios the supposed option of CPB is not available. I tried using AMIBCP to force it to show the option which worked but still did not enable CPB. Any thought on how I could replicate the modified bios? Attached is the latest bios file.X47BK523.BSS

So ive upgraded the following in a PC i built in 2019 - RAM: from 16Gb 3000mhz to 32 GB 3200 Mhz - Running at 3000mhz cuz Mobo doesnt support - CPU cooler: Wraith prism broke after 3 years, installed Deepcool's AK400 - Storage Memory: Had Hard Disk 2TB which the PC doesnt work without now. Additional M.2 samsung 980 1TB, Corsair 500Gb Sata, Samsung 860 Evo M.2 Sata (was scammed) - GPU: Powercolor Red Devil RX 580 GB to Gigabyte Windforce x3 RTX 4060ti 8GB (for $250) All case fans changed. only thing left that i haven't changed in CPU and Mobo. The issue with Mobo is, its PCIE 3.0 So my GPU is not running to full potential, Same with Samsung 980, running slower than it should. Ram running at 3000 instead of 3200 (and even when ive forced it to Run at 3000 by manual clocking, its still slow to startup)

Hey guys! I want to buy a new cpu for my computer. I already have an Asus x470-f motherboard and I'm thinking of getting a 5800X3D for it. I know that they released a BIOS supporting the CPU, but I was wondering if I would get full performance. Is 3D V-cache motherboard limited? Am I gonna lack any perfomance features with this motherboard and cpu combo? I searched online and couldn't really find real informations. Hoping to find some here.

My board was kinda bricked after touching some options in the bios to try to install windows 11, now it works but quite often it does not start and I have to reboot the bios with the case button. The net adapter is working pretty bad too, not sure if linked to windows 11 or the board. I thought about getting a new motherboard but I don't want to spend much more of what I spent when I got the x470 some years ago. I read there is not much of compatibility for the Ryzon 2600 CPU, so I got recommended a B450 and X370. Could you recommend me a replacement for my board that will be compatible with my current setup ? Do you think I should change directly the CPU and the board ? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Budget (including currency): either 100-150e for a board or a bit more if you recommend to change as well the CPU Country: france or spain Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I use the PC to play some games like project cars , battlefront or F1 2022. It's not that I need the latest graphics.

My pc was working fine for over a year. Then someday I tried to boot the pc the cpu fan was running and the rgb,but there were two led lights were alternating with no post at all on the display. I restarted many times until it booted found out that was smth with bios reseted them with cmos battery worked for 2 weeks but the problem didn't stop. I don't how to explain it ,when I shut off my pc and immediatley boot it up it gives me the same error, but if I let it rest for 10 mins after shutting it down it boots with no errors or cycles. So I just let the pc on until I sleep and booted again then another problem I encountered. I booted the pc worked for an hour then no display and the monitor tells me no signal but I can hear the sound from my headset ,it was the drivers for the gpu reinstalled them with ddu and a clean installion worked for a day but again the same thing. The real problem is now when I boot there is a 4th led on the bottom left corner that lights up and no post any idea to fix this issue Sry for my bad english and poor knowledge about tech My specs: Amd ryzen 2700x Rtx 2060 Corsair lpx 3000mhz cl16 X470 gigabyte aorus ultra gaming Psu gigabyte 750w gold Hdd m.2 samsung evo 970 500gb Seagate fire barracuda 2 tb

these are are my current PC Specs Gigabyte AUG X470 Ryzen 7 2700x Radeon Powercolor Red devil Rx 580 8 GB 16 GB 3000 mHz and a Antec Edge 750 watt PSU built this in 2019 for upgrading GPU, never could afford to or seemed reasonable but i think its time. i like the fact the 4060ti consumes very less power and remains cooler than 3rd Gen RTX card while giving lot better 0.1% and 1% Frame drops even with DLSS off. but at same time am skeptical of the x8 lane PCIE instead of x16 and 128 instead of 256 bit memory interface, which is lower than my Rx580 but clearly performance wise its a huge upgrade for 40-50% less power usage.

History: So my PC was built in Jan 2019. always used 1080p 60/75hertz TN/VA monitors. Even back then, my second monitor would suffer from turning on and off during gameplay or even normal usage. It was the bad house wiring and no Earthing connection to the PC. Fast forward to 2022. Got a new 144hertz. it does the same thing, when turning on Fans, the monitor turns off for a second. We fixed the wiring, that solved the issue. 2 weeks ago, Cleaned the PC and changed CPU fan and after that the monitor is not turning off from power fluctuations, But ever since ive got 3 BSOD's. Browers crash at random times. PC on its own closes heavy demanding Applications like Steam. So fresh installed the Drivers and that stopped that BS. Here is the issue. every time i start a game, my PC does this weird notification sounds of a Device getting plugged in and Unplugged. Further more, my monitor turns on and off with that same plugged and unplugged noise when im gaming for some time. It depends from game to game how its affecting the Rate of this issue. Here are is the list of games ive played and the amount of time the Screen turns on and Off. 1. Halo MCC - H2A = when ever i fire my scrab gun for more than 2 seconds as burst. (halo 2 Skulls on) Videos to show issue: around 16 seconds into both the videos. 2. Forza horizon 4. Never does this. i get 120-144 Frame in Forza and runs smoothly and never i have got this Monitor on/off issue 3. Valhiem = it does this once ever like 30 mins 4. World of Tanks = Does this once every 45 mins, sometimes every 10 mins Yesterday i got BSOD when i shot a tank while full zoomed in, and the tank was bound to explode, instead my PC gave me blue screen 5. Hitman Blood money: was streaming this game 2 days ago and i got the issue every 20 mins 6. 7 days to Die = Every 1 minute. it was soo bad that i deleted the game. FORGOT TO MENTION: This only happens when i am using this 144 hertz Acer Nitro on DP, but when i plug it through HDMI, the issue goes away. My old BenQ monitor was plugged through same HDMI cable and it still had issues. even tried to use a convertor cable for using both monitors at same time, cuz they both were HDMI and GPU only has 1 HDMI port. back then i used DVI port to HDMi cable. The GPU is running in Silent mode and these are the Idle stats I would like to know how to Diagnose the issue with the PC, is it the GPU, Mobo or the monitor or something else

Hey everyone, recently i bought new pc and the motherboard that i choose is Asus TUF x470-plus gaming and i wanted to update the bios to the latest version because the version that's on is the old bios from 2 years ago. When i tried to update the bios to the latest version directly from the bios menu with the Ez Flash 3 tool i choose the USB, chose the bios file and it asked me if i want to read the file i clicked yes when i did that the mouse was frozen for couple seconds and after that i got the message that "Selected file is not a proper BIOS". I tried with two different usb drives and both were formatted to FAT32, i also tried to download the bios directly from the asus servers. After you choose the Ez Flash it asked me if i want from local drive or internet and the third time (after the two usb attempts failed) i choose internet and i got the same error message "Selected file is not a proper BIOS". I also tried to rename the bios file with the provided renaming tool and still the same result. Does someone has any idea how this can be fixed? 20210311_173607_1_1.mp4

A bit ago I tried upgrading the Bios on this Crosshair VII Hero WiFi from Bios 3103 to 4007 using the USB Flashback functionality, running Windows 10 pro 20H2. I noticed a few oddities, the biggest one was the computer intermittently hard rebooting. I looked though the settings tinkered with a few voltages and removing C-states, clearing the settings, loading optimized defaults. But it kept Randomly rebooting? I could not find any real rhyme or reason. I figured just a buggy Bios so I rolled back to 3103, and the computer went back to running fine. So the other day I thought I would update the Bios to Version 4204, again from 3103. Updated the AMD chipset drivers, and ran sfv /scannnow before flashing the bios via usb flashback. After a bit It started doing the random hard reset's again? It even does the random hard reset from within the BIOS. Setting the voltages for the Vcore and Ram , and it ran fine for the next day while I ran varous bench marks: Unigine Heaven, Prime 95, Folding at home. I then went into the Bios to tweak the fan curves and low and behold It did the Hard reboot again while I was in the Bios? When it got into windows after login it hard reboot again, Then it started working fine again? Looking though the event logs I see Kernal-Power "The system rebooted without cleanly shutting down first." and Eventlog showing:"the previous System Shutdown was unexpected" Ran SFC /Scannow and no issues found. I'm really at a loss, It works fine on the older 3103 bios? I've looked around but I haven't seen a post go into depth with this type of error, but is possible I'm blind. I am intending on upgrading the CPU and Graphics card when they are back in stock. I am trying to set up 4x4 bifurcation on my PCIe 16_1 slot that will allow me to use the Asus Hyper m.2 V2 with 4x NVME SSD's, as of now I can only get 2x of the drives to show. I am using these as scratch drives to dump files on too. Specs: Asus Crosshair VII Hero Wifi (X470) R9 3900xt 64GB Corsair Vengeance - 3200Mhz CL16 Boot drive - WD SN750 NVME 1TB + 5 sata drives EVGA GTX 1080Ti EVGA P2 850W Asus Hyper m.2 V2 w/ 4x Corsair MP600 1TB I have already done the following: I disabled my main m.2 slot (m.2_2), moved the Hyper m.2 to my PCIe 16_1 slot. enabled NVME RAID (will not run in RAID though), my 1080Ti is in my 16_2 slot for now. And I am updated to the latest Bios. I have verified compatibility via the product page. https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1037507/ And gone through all the required steps (as far as I know). Am I limited by lanes or is there another setting I am missing? Right now I can see 2 of the 4 m.2 drives. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I'm working on my first PC build, and the X470 Gaming Plus Max ticks all the boxes. Only problem is that I don't know if it supports ECC SSDs. I'm using the Team Group MP33 which does use ECC. I would rather keep ECC and find a different mobo than get a non-ECC SSD, though changing the SSD might be easier.

Hi All, I'm trying to prepare for Windows 11 and for that I am trying to activate Secure Boot from BIOS. I already have TPM 2.0 activated from Bios and my BIOS is in UEFI mode I've also checked that my GPU supports UEFI Now from my BIOS, I've tried to activate Secure Boot 1. I turned CSM Support off 2. Then I went to 'Secure Boot' option and set up a Platform Key (default from board) After doing this I was told by the system to ensure that my GPU supports UEFI and then I ENabled 'Secure Boot'. After this when I saved the changes and exited, my system went in to a sort of boot loop. This X470 Ultra Gaming board has 4 diagnostic LEDs and the boot, rather POST sequence normally does this, gpu->cpu->ram->boot and complete, I see the windows logo. But after enabling secure boot, it was going like this gpu->cpu->ram->gpu->...loop and teh screen was blank. I had to remove the battery to clear cmos and restore the system back. So now I would like your help on this, like is any settings I need to configure in BIOS, before i attempt to turn on secure boot again. My system summary: Motherboard: Gigabyte x470 Ultra Gaming (rev 1), BIOS version F6 Processor: Ryzen 5 2600 RAM: 16GB Corsair (8*2) @ 3Ghz GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 1060 6GB (OC V2) Thanks, Souvik

Hello all. It's been a while since I checked AMD Ryzen products and related products in detail, so I have a few questions for my upcoming build. Question 1: Would it be generally true that XT models have higher single-threaded performance than the lower models in the same performance range? I was checking out the 3600XT and was wondering why you would choose that over 3700X (bar pricing) and compared to the 3600, 3600X and 3700X on Passmark. Passmark seemed to suggest that it had the 3600XT had higher single-threaded performance than the 3600, 3600X and 3700X. Passmark comparison link. Is this true in this case? Is this generally true for all of the XT-model CPUs in the Ryzen 3000 series? Question 2: For two 3200MHz RAM sticks, will the clock speed be lower by default on the MSI X470 Gaming Plus Max? If so, can it be increased in the bios? I read some of the review for Corsair Vengeance LPXs (PCPartPicker) mentioning the need to increase the clock speed to 3200MHz and I assume that this might be due to the older boards defaulting to lower clock speeds. Link to the motherboard. Many thanks for your answers, Melonize.

Hello Everyone! Marry Christmas first of all! I have the following problem: I've got an ryzen 5 3500x for Christmas (used a ryzen 3 2600 before) and updated the bios before installing it. I checked if it's compatible with my Mainboard (msi x470) but it won't boot up. It just shows the red CPU LED. Maybe somebody has an idea and can help me, would be so nice. Btw I updated the bios with the msi program "on the fly" and not it the "m-flash" in the bios menu

Wondering if anyone might be able to help - I have updated my ASUS X470-PLUS TUF Gaming to the latest BIOS version (v6024 from v5216) - after successfully booting into Windows for the first time after the update, I noticed MSI Afterburner hadn't kicked in with my desired profile (MSI RTX 2070 SUPER Gaming X is my GPU) and was unable to select any profiles or change any options in Afterburner, I restarted my machine, but upon reboot, I got a message stating that Windows needed to be repaired, I tried rebooting several times and it would appear it failed to boot each time because a different key file or driver was missing each time. My PC was running Windows 10 21H1. Fortunately I have a basic laptop (also W10, 21H1( that I use from time to time, and decided to create the Windows 10 installation media creation tool using it, USB was made bootable, time to try the reinstall/repair. Upon plugging in the USB stick to my PC and going to boot menu to select it, I got the familiar black screen with 4 blue windows, before it displayed what I could only describe as a pattern of orange and white lines, with no options to proceed visible. I decided to try again and this time downloaded the ISO so I could use rufus to create the bootable USB, that went smoothly, but once again I was unable to proceed, though this time, it was a blank blue screen that I received, I tried a couple more times, and even redid the bootable USB, but I'm unable to proceed with reinstalling or repairing Windows. As for why I upgraded after sitting on such an old version of the BIOS that worked fine? I got a very lightly used 5800X from a friend (for a very reasonable price) after he decided to upgrade to a 5950X, and I knew I'd need to update BIOS version to get support of the 5000 series. Any help that folks can give would be appreciated Relevant Specs CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Motherboard - ASUS TUF X470-PLUS GAMING RAM - 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (4 x 8GB) GPU - MSI Gaming X RTX 2070 Super M.2 SSD (Boot) Drive - 1TB SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2, PCIe NVMe Additional Storage - 2x HDD (10TB & 2TB) & 1x SATA SSD (500GB) PSU - CORSAIR 650W TXm SEMI-MODULAR 80+ GOLD, ULTRA QUIET ----- EDIT: I have tried to install an older version of BIOS to see if it might be an iffy BIOS version update that looks successful but actually isn't - but I've had no luck with it even accepting the CAP file of older BIOS versions.

I just bought two Noctua 140mm redux fans, and they're running at 100%. I previously had voltage controlled fans in there, configured by Argus, but it seems that even if I set all fans to 0% in Argus my PWMs keep running despite my voltage fans stopping. Running on a Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming motherboard. Any help would be appreciated. I'm sure it's a BIOS issue, but I've never used PWM before.

Specs Motherboard: X470 GAMING M7 AC CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X CPU fan: the one that came with the CPU RAM: 2x8GB Trident Z RGB F4-3000C14D-16GTZR GPU: Sapphire Radeon NITRO+ RX 580 8G G5 SSD: CRUCIAL P5 Plus 1 TB SSD M.2 via NVMe PSU: be quiet! Straight Power 11 Gold (I don't know the wattage) The story I bought the above specified PC second hand from eBay three months ago. As it came without any kind of storage, so I installed the SSD myself right after I got the PC home. For three months the computer functioned without a hiccup. I bought 2x16GB Trident Z F4-3000C14D-32GTZ RAM sticks second hand from eBay with the intention to fill in the other 2 RAM sockets. Rather than immediately populating all the RAM slots at once, I figured I'd swap the RAM sticks that I already had with the ones that I just bought to see if they correctly get recognized in the BIOS and to test how the PC runs with them in. So I filled the DIMMA2 and DIMMB2 slots with the 2x16GB of RAM. After trying to turn the PC back on, it refused to POST. The CPU EZ debug LED was on and the debug LEDs showed code 78 (ACPI module initialization). What I did I removed the two RAM sticks I just inserted and put the 2x8GB RAM sticks back in. Nothing changed. I then tried to boot using only one of the 8GB sticks in the DIMMA2 slot. Nothing. I tried with the other 8GB stick. Nada. I then tried to clear the CMOS using the designed button on the motherboard and by removing the battery. When that also didn't work, I went ahead and flashed other BIOS versions using BIOS flashback+. I flashed the latest version (E7B77AMS.1I0), the oldest version (E7B77AMS.100) and the version that I had before I started all this (E7B77AMS.130). The only difference this made, was that on the newest version, the error code changed from 78 to 22 (OEM pre-memory initialization code). The last thing I tried was to populate the RAM slots in different configurations, from using all sticks at once, to only using one at a time in different slots. I also made sure that the CPU power connectors were securely in place. What I heard online I found some posts saying that they fixed states where the CPU debug LED was on, by disassembling the whole PC and building it again or by only taking the CPU out and putting it back in the socket. I'm willing to try this out, but right now I don't really have the time, because I'm in the middle of my exam period. I also find it weird that the CPU would be the problem, when I only fiddled with the RAM. So I started to search for posts complaining about the 22 error code, as that seemed more fitting for my situation. All of them suggested stuff that I already tried above. I'm bummed out that I have yet to find a post complaining about error code 22 in tandem with the CPU debug LED. While debugging the problem, I did not hear any beeps from the speaker. It only beeped when I tried to boot up without any RAM sticks in. I also was looking for the 1 long beep to confirm that the PC POSTED, which never happened. Here is a BIOS screenshot that I got from the original owner of the PC. The only thing I changed in the BIOS was to turn on the second XMP profile. I worked with this profile on for 3 months without any hiccups.

So I currently have 3600x (upgraded from 1600) Gigabyte AB350-Gaming Ballistix 16gb (2x8) 2666 My motherboard says memory speed is limited to 3200, but 3600 is better for Ryzen 3200 is also cheaper but 3600 would be better long-term But If I want 3600, I have to switch motherboard. What would you do?
