Hi So im about to buy the acer x34A monitor. But my issue is that my desk is quite shallow, measuring in at 45cm front to back. Therefore the x34's stand would leave me almost no room in front of it. I want to VESA mount it, but ive never used one before, and im having trouble finding one that would fit my desk. My desk around the edges has 8cm deep, 2cm wide oak panels that mean you cant just screw a normal vesa mount onto it (see attatched pics) Are there any vesa mounts that have more than 2cm of space to allow for the screw-plunger thingy to go on the inside of the desk? Or would there be another solution to mount this monitor that wouldnt involve a drill?

With the help from some of the forum users here I was able to tweak my X34 just a little. I have a better understanding but some of the options are still little confusing. Im hoping somoneone might be able to explain and others maybe share their settings. I found only small amount of custom X34 settings, one person said to change Red/85 Green/83 Blue/100. They dont mention changing the rest of colors, like Cyan, Yellow, or Magenta, why? Are the only colors to tweak really the RGB and if yes, are the numbers I mentioned good or should they be adjusted? Whats thr reason the CYM are not touched, or should they actually be adjusted and if yes, whats a good starting number? I'm looking at a Gaming Monitor and I'm stuck trying to decide between the two different monitors, or preorder the HP Omen X 35 off of newegg.com. My current card is a ASUS Strix GTX 1080 and I know that games like GTA V will not pass 42 fps on the optimize settings. But other games like War Thunder will run at 110+ fps. So ive just bought the Acer x34 monitor and I think im in love with it. But In the OSD there is an option labeled "ultrawide mode", with the two options being "aspect" or "1:1". Switching between the two turns the display off briefly and on again, as if it is rebooting. But other than that I cant seem to see any difference at all. Does anyone know what these options mean?

Hello everyone, I recently got the X34 and been reading allot of what other owners have posted. Unless Im reading it wrong which is very possible, cause Im new to PC gaming...a few mention they are having problems with the DP cable. Most times the answer is to buy a NEW one and dont use the stock DP cable. Does anyone know if the stock cable is really no good? Or is it just good practice to buy a better DP cable? If the answer is to just buy a new one, could you please recommend company. So I have kind of run the arguments through my head and I have come to a stalemate so I hope you guys could give me some perspective. What I am looking for is a high-end gaming monitor, 1440p, high refreshrates, IPS panel. G-sync is a nice to have, not a need. I have got some good offers on both slightly used and brand new monitors: 1. Acer X34A, slightly used - ~$770 2. Acer XB271HUbmiprz, slightly used - ~$590 3. Asus MG279Q, slightly used - ~$520 4. Acer XB271HUbmiprz, new - ~$855 5. Asus MG279Q, new - ~$665 6. Asus PG279Q, new - ~$885 So these are some of the things that have been bothering me the most: I have been using the LG 34UM95 as my main monitor and I highly appreciate the 21/9 aspect ratio but is it a good enough trade-off to get one of the 144/165hz models instead of the 100hz Acer X34A? Also is it worth going for 165hz over 144? Is tearing that big a deal at high refreshrates or should I just save the cash and go for the MG279Q? (using a GTX1070) Also I have heard rumors about bad QR across the board but mostly for the ASUS models. Can anyone inlighten my? If anyone has any order factors I might wanna consider or some other monitor models I really should know about plz let me know.

Hey there guys, I'm hoping that one of you techsperts can help with an issue that I'm facing. I've got a 1070 in an Alienware 15 R3 hooked up to my Predator X34 via the USB-C/Thunderbolt to Display port. I've updated all of my drivers (and tried rolling back to the previous ones too) via GeForce Experience Tried Single monitor and Extended display Tried updating Alienware specific drivers - their driver update utility said there were no update, but a visit to http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/servicetag/91VFYF2/drivers said otherwise. Basically, all I'm trying to do is ensure that I can benefit from the G-Sync on the X34. I've already managed to overclock it to 100hz. But I can't access the control panel and I'm stuck. Let me also mention that I'm able to use the monitor just fine. I can set the settings to any resolution and already set to 100hz from the display properties. Any ideas? Update in case you find this thread: The USB C/ TB port won't work. It will rely on integrated graphics. So if you've got a gaming monitor and need GSync use the Mini displayport (Gsync wont work with HDMI either).

I am looking at purchasing an Acer Predator X34 next week but I'm just wondering if I should wait for something newer to come out. Does anyone know of something similar that is being released soon or even if something might be released soon? The Predator has been out for a while now so I assume an updated model should be on it's way right?

So I'm thinking to upgrade my monitor to a x34, running a 980ti HOF, would like to know if it's good enough to run the x34 ? they cost $1400 in my country which is equivalent to about $1k usd, or should i just wait for the x34p, thanks in advance!

Hello, I was looking at an insane ultrawide setup of 3 Predator x34 monitors and I was wondering, How much GPU power do you need to run games at 10320x1440. I haven't found any benchmarks of that resolution but if I wanted to play crysis 3 at that resolution what would I need in terms of hardware to achieve 60+ FPS? Would any setup today even be able to play games at this resolution on high/ultra settings? Thanks in advance for any answers you can give.

last year i wanted to swap my aoc 34" for a great x34, i moved and had some other projects that needed to be finished first *cough* mancave 2.0 now as i´m selling my 980ti and my 60hz aoc display to raise the budget i can finally do it ( tearing and ghosting kinda sucks) in past months bitwit and jayz2cents are still doing videos about it i´d like to stay at that 34" 3440x1440 format, just with more hz and maybe gsync to get it smoother is there is something "new" anounced thats worth waiting or a better option? i heard that acer doesnt produce the anounced X34P i´ve been waiting to get released

Today is the last payment on the 12 month financing I got myself into to get my hands on what was arguably the best gaming monitor available at the time. A seriously great monitor 34" 3440x1440 100Hz Curved Ultrawide Gsync. But well, it's been a year and technology can progress at breakneck speeds. So please, take a shot, crush my moment of happiness and tell me what greater monitors are out or just over the horizon that will make me envious all over again.

So heres whats going on...I'm looking for a duel monitor setup and i am going to get an x34. but i have questions lol. One, is should i wait until the new monitors that are coming out or stick to the plan? Second, is what would be a good second screen that's not going to give me problems with scale or ratio? The second monitor doesn't have to have g-synce or good fps or anything just want a decent picture that's not a crazy amount, under 400 would be dope. Thanks in advance love you guys!

Hi peeps, I would really like your opinions on which monitor to get: TLDR: 3440X1440 (with speakers) VS 32inch 4K (with speakers) vs 27inch 4k (with secondary 4k monitor) I run 980tis in SLI. I already have a Dell 2715Q which I love and a 27" 1440p monitor. So I'm happy with the 27" form factor but wouldn't mind a larger screen to watch films off of as I don't have a TV in my room. Dual monitor vs speakers I don't like the idea of having two monitors of different sizes so the Dell will have to go along with the catleap if I decide to get either the X34 or XB32 but I'll use the money to buy some nice bookshelf speakers (~$1000) In terms of initial price it goes, X34 > PG27AQ > XB32 here in Australia. However the Asus is actually cheaper once you factor in discounts and rebates. I would really like your opinions! I have consumed so many reviews and I almost bought the X32 today but got cold feet. I usually use dual monitors but as of late I've actually gone back to a single monitor instead. I like the idea of two monitors but I don't have the desk real estate for some premium speakers and two large monitors so It's one or the other. I have a nice pair of headphones so I'll only miss out in the sound department when watching films and maybe I don't get that awesome immersive experience of being able to game with sound just coming at you.

I'm looking to ascend from the glorious PG278Q and the x34 has gained my attention. However it's quite expensive so I'm a little tentative in dropping such a large amount of money on one. I've really come here to ask whether anyone here has moved from a 27" 1440p to a 35" monitor. Is it much of an upgrade and would it really be much of a difference in regards to screen real estate? I'm currently using 2 x 27" monitors which are different models and it's starting to frustrate me a little. Any opinions are welcome!

Hi, so I have ALL of my computer's parts except a storage device (I do not have a SSD or HDD yet, a lot of shipping delays). Despite this, I want to test if my Acer Predator X34 can overclock to its advertised 100Hz as some people had complained about only being able to achieve 95Hz. Before I build it in about 16 hours, I'm wondering if I can test if it can be overclocked to 100Hz from the BIOS. Because I can't boot into Windows 10 Pro without a storage device (I mean, I could, but I don't want to clone drives or do all that complicated stuff in the future when my SSD does come in), I would like to test the overclock in the BIOS. Would this work?

Hi, So I just ordered an Acer Predator X34 for $1550 CAD. I just spent a lot of money on this product and I want it to be absolutely perfect (otherwise I'm asking for a replacement). The thing is, I'm wondering how I can check it for its problems (which after reading posts, it may have a lot of problems)? Thanks. I'm paranoid.

As the title says, I'm trying to decide between a single Acer Predator x34 or dual Acer Predator XB271HUs. I plan to build a new rig soon which I'll be using for gaming, live streaming on twitch, and light content creation using Photoshop and Audacity, and I wanted to know which monitor setup will best fit those needs based your personal experience with either monitor setup. I initially planned on having the dual XB271HU setup, but now I'm leaning more towards the single x34. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!

Hey guys! I've been looking around the ultrawide monitor market and have opted for a 21:9 ultrawide setup. My goal is to run ultra settings at or above 60 fps on a 1440p resolution and I'm planning to do this on a single 1080 card. From what I've seen in benchmarking results, the 1080 is able to average a healthy 65-90 on even the most intensive AAA titles when maxed. Looking around, I am definitely considering Acer's x34 mainly because of it's g-sync module. I'm aware that the XR341CK is almost a carbon copy of it only with Freesync instead. Though seeing as I won't really benefit from having g-sync or not as my card won't hit over 100 fps to match the 100hz refresh, I'm starting to wonder if I should just get an LG 34" or something that'll shave off a near $600+. In a realistic setting, I'll only plan to play these graphic intensive games every so often, and will probably play games like Overwatch and Hearthstone for a large portion of the time. Since Blizzard games are well optimised I would expect that they maintain well above 100 fps. So in saying this, is it worth the G-sync if I also play these light workload games? Will I experience screen tearing when playing virtual card games? And if so, is it something that a little V-sync won't fix without drastically increasing input delays. Tech netizens, I'd love to hear from you, Xcydus

I recently bought an ACER X34 P and am using it with a DP cable and 120 HZ. But when I'm playing I'm experiencing "drop-outs" of connection; screen goes black and then back to normal with a "DP" sign at the top right, just like when you plug in a source to the screen. It doesn't happen when I'm using windows normally, only rarely will it do so. But in games it happens frequently. I've ruled out cable problems, interference etc. it's not any "sleep mode" or similar. HDMI works fine, but DP get these black screen drop-outs all the time when gaming. I've searched online and there's a few who reportedly has similar problems, but there's no answers, ideas as to why it happens or how to solve it. It doesn't even seem like Acer themselves know what is going on. It's infuriating to have a problem that never gets any answers and people just seem to ignore the problems by getting something else.

Hi all, I have had my Acer X34 for about 9 months now. Plugged it in, OC to 100 Mhz, ran fine no dramas. However about 2 weeks ago, something weird started happening. I would be using it ( gaming, Work, School) and the display would go black for like 1/2 a sec, it would show the Display port logic then, then pic would be back. It was like the display cable had been pulled out and put back in. Its been happening more and more, some time 4- 5 times in a row. Got a new cable, tried all the display ports on my GPU, still happening. Reset back to factory setting aka back to 60 Mhz seem to be stable. Is that a sign my GPU is on that way our or the Acer X34. Setup: I7 7700k water cooled OC 4.8 , Gtx 1080, 32 gb, 500g SSD, Win 10 64
