  1. i cleaned my pc using air compressor and after cleaning it and putting back fhe parts together it wont post i have tried removing cmos, reseating ram, using eraser on ram, unplugging and plugging back cords i dont think that its a monitor problem cuz i tried to use a tv and it wont work and using different display cables. what should i do?
  2. Hey Everyone, (New here so bear with me if I get stuff wrong) So I was trying to change my bios settings to allow AMD fTPM, using the steps in this video: https://youtu.be/DJK0wOVJaxE Now my PC won’t post, nothing on the screen, no beeps from the MOBO. When I start it, the fans spin up and lights come on but that’s it, then the fans start spinning up and winding down every 5seconds or so indefinitely. Things I’ve tried: I’ve reseated RAM, removed the CMOS battery overnight with a jumper on the CLRCMOS pins (with the PSU power cable unplugged ofc) changed the GPU; even tried clearing out dust but nothing has made any difference. So um… help please?! Any ideas?
  3. As stated in the title, I have a new Asus B550-F Wifi with a Ryzen 5900x and I am unable to update the bios using the bios flashback tool. Currently the motherboard does nothing when I press the power button which I assume is normal when trying to boot with a 5000 series cpu in an older b550 motherboard without updated bios. I do not have a pc speaker, so I am unaware of any possible beep codes on boot. What I have tried: I put the "RB550FGW.Cap" file into the root of a freshly formatted fat32 16gb usb drive, plug the usb drive into the usb port labeled "bios", press and hold the flash button until it blinks 3 times, then the light immediately turns solid(which I believe means the update failed). I have tried with the cpu and ram both installed and not installed. I also unplugged all the usb devices from the board. The only thing I have not changed is that the graphics card has not been uninstalled. Does anyone have any idea why this motherboard is not updating?
  4. Hi I was playing factorio, I went over to discord when I went back to factorio my screen got black and my pc restarted but it wouldnt post and the white led was on and the mobo had the code 90 i have tried reinstalling the gpu in another slot Have moved the ram and tried using 1 stick Checked the cpu but all pins was fine Tried another hdmi and tried moving it on both the gpu and monitor Mobo asus rog strix b550-e gaming bios 2407 Gpu asus geforce rtx 2060 Ram 2x8 GB 3200mhz Cpu AMD ryzen 5 3600x Psu 650w Os windows 10 home
  5. First I'll list down the Specs MOBO: Asus B85-plus CPU: Intel i7-4790 non k RAM: 16GB Gskill Ram GPU: GTX 970 Strix SSD: Sandisk Ultra 128GB PSU: Cooler Master V650 Semi Modular My PC has been having this issue close to half a year now and I don't know which component is acting up. As an example, it could be working fine today but when I try and boot it up the next day it will do a little fan spin hear a relay click and no post. I would do the standard check all the plugs, take out ram, put new thermal paste, clear cmos etc. I tried removing everything and it's just the PSU and the motherboard 24pin and cpu 8pin with the fan cooler fan plugged in didn't post. but if I wait at least maybe 3 days it starts working again (it just started working today). This leads me to believe it's the PSU at fault. But I read that it could be the motherboard as well. I don't have another psu or motherboard to test with either. The duration of it being able to post normally is going down though. I added a HWmonitor Log file if that helps. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. Please ask if you need more information. HWMonitor.txt
  6. Alright so my setup is Intel i7 8700k generic aio Used to be 32gb ram now down to 16 (more on that later) msi duke gtx 1080 ti msi z370 a pro thermaltake 600w 80+ white (yikes and probs the culprit tbh) 1tb hdd wd blue 250 gb sata ssd wd green 1tb nvme sn750 wd black so i was playing monster hunter last night when suddenly the game froze badly with a horrible screeching sound, i had to force shutdown and when i boot up again it wouldnt post at all and the EZ Debug light kept cycling on DRAM, so i checked to see if somehow the ram got moved or something by a mysterious unknown entity, after a couple reseatings it turned out that my 16gigs of hyperX ram got killed in the chaos, i had 16 gigs left which are from teamforce which came with this thing when i got it since it was a prebuilt way back on 2017 i have been daily driving it with the extra kingston since january of this year but it suddenly died on me after said crash, so since i managed to get post after thst with the kingston removed i shrugged it off as a bad couple sticks. however when i tried to boot it up today it wouldnt post again and yet the error it gave was different by which i mean there were no beeps, no lights, ez debug completes its cycle, all fans spins, rgb lights up, the gpu starts spinning as it boots, but no post. terrified i took out me graphics card to plug into onboard graphics and prepare for the worst. it was bittersweet when there was still no post since i cant really get an equivalent graphics card on this market as it is. i tried down to one stick of.ram which still worked, only the boot drive (sn750), no post and no post and no post i can feel the nvme heating, all fans spins and the cpu block does get a bit warm if not hot i checked all connections and everything is plugged in correctly and fully, i took out the mobo battery and tossed it in again and resetted the cmos, the bios is up to date as far as i could tell as i said i even daily drove it for 4 years and now it just went kaboom, i had to call up.my work to let em know i cant do anything right now, i have zbrush class in two days and web programming tomorrow, its a whole mess and im in crisis best worse scenario in me head is that the psu failed and thats that second worse is it failed bringing down the cpu and mobo with it worst case even the good ol 1080ti with it and all i can do is weep not one person i know has a desktop either so.i cant double check any component im honestly at loss for words trying to figure out what imma do if i have to replace basically the entire thing if anyone knows something that i could just yet try i would be very happy to try it out also for my bad english i apologize since im from mexico
  7. So my pc internals are as follows: Ryzen 7 3700x RX 580 2x8GB RAM 750 Watt power supply MSI B550M Pro-VDH I’m currently having two separate issues that I’m fairly certain are related. For a while when I tried to turn on my pc, most of the time it would boot past the cpu, fans would spin and all that, then get stuck on ram and the debug light for ram would stay lit up with no display out. I got a couple random BSOD with the error code CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT, and when it rebooted from them it would always fail to clear the ram. To fix it I would simply reseat the ram, and within one or two tries it would fix itself and be totally fine. Suddenly tonight I got the same BSOD with the same code, but after reseating the ram 5 times and blowing compressed air at the slots, it still won’t clear the ram debug light and post. I put in an older ram stick that I replaced because it caused a separate crashing issue that I fixed. My PC posted with the old ram, but almost immediately crashed, just with the old problem it had and not the watchdog timeout. I’m thinking it’s just faulty ram getting worse over time, but before I go spend money to replace it I’m hoping anyone has any suggestions. Moneys a bit tight right now and I need my PC to be working in the next day or two so I can get back to work. Does anyone know what I can try? Has anyone had a similar issue? Thank you:)
  8. Hello everybody,I hope y'all had a great holidays season. So, my laptop had a blue screen of death and when I went to turn it back on... I don't even get a post... Absolutely nothing on the screen. I went ahead and tried to find any reason... Strange noises or something like this, and I found out that hd was doing a clicking noise, tried to swap it to an ssd I had here, but to no good... The clicking stopped but still had no post I observed another thing, the cooling system spins once and stops... So it appear to have power. Any idea of what this could be? And more importantly, could It be fixed? Laptop info: Lenovo z40-70 model 80E6 Hdd that was in it is a wd10jpcx Ssd I tried to use to see if it would post is a Ultimate SU800 512GB OS: Windows 10
  9. Hello, I recently built a budget PC ~750$ and overall (after a rocky start) everything has been working great. This is except for one post issue I've run into. It has always happened but I only recently narrowed down the 'cause' of this issue. For some reason, if my monitors are both turned off before turning on my pc, it will never post. The most life I get is the first post LED (dram) staying solid and having to force power off my system. This is a relatively non issue because it just means I have to turn on my monitor a few seconds before my pc, however it does become pretty annoying at times. Is there anyway to fix this? Specs: ASUS GTX 1060 6GB AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Thermaltake Smart 500W 80+ Certified ASUS TUF Gaming B550-Plus Motherboard 16GB XPG Z1 DDR4 3200MHz (2x8) (running 3000MHz as it has refused to post at 3200) Silicon Power 256GB NVMe Boot Drive As I said this is a new build, and my first, so this could easily be a matter of a simple BIOS setting that I haven't enabled/disabled. Thanks in advance.
  10. The PC I built a few months ago (Part List) blue screened about half an hour ago. After it restarted itself it didn’t boot right away and than started repairing. After looping through the restart-repair process a few times it that opened to a Windows screen that said something like “there was a problem”. After trying to restart through the UI a couple of times I decided to try resetting and reinstalling Windows that didn't work either (see error attached). Do you have any advice on what to do of that doesn’t work?
  11. I’ve posted this thread on a few forums and subreddits but I haven’t had much luck yet. Hopefully Linustechtips forum come through for me! I have been having super strange issues with my pc today and I cant figure out what needs replacement. Im 99% sure its either my motherboard or RAM but honestly its getting really confusing. Its a long story so Ill make it as short and to the point as possible: My PC was having a really hard time editing 4k, I asked reddit and found out it was my CPU bottlenecking, but also running at super high temps. I dust out my PC, reapply thermal paste, and remount heatsink. It works fine and temps are much much better, but then my PC blue screens twice trying to stress test in premie. I download software to read crash logs and the first crash is a software error and the second is hardware, most likely bumped my RAM. Okay so I open up my PC and reseat both my RAM sticks, but now it wont even post. After tedious trial and error I get to post by removing one (of two) of my 8gb RAM sticks as well as resetting CMOS. So its a broken RAM stick, but just to make sure I run windows memory diagnostic. On restart I get a blue screen saying my PC needs repairs and it shuts off again. Now it wouldnt post again after 3 tries of turning it on and off again. So I reset CMOS again and it boots. So here I am, down 8gb of RAM, wondering if my motherboard is broken or it really is just the RAM stick. I’m terrified to restart my pc cause I don’t want to reset cmos again to get it to boot. Thanks in advance for the help. My PC: i7 7700k - GTX 1070 - 16GB DDR4 (Well now 8GB) - 650W Power Supply - ASUS Z170 Motherboard
  12. The System, Ryzen 7 5800x Prism amd cooler Asrock B450m Pro4 GeForce rtx 2070 650 watt evga psu 4x8 3000 corsair vengeance memory 1tb nvme m.s 980 pro I use to have a Ryzen 5 2600 in the computer, but not I upgraded to the 5800x. It wouldn't post after the new CPU install, so I cleared the CMOS and tried again. Then i put the 2600 back into the pc and got it to post, i updated the bios to the latest version on Asrocks website, but when I reinstalled the 5800x it went back into the boot loop. Also the cpu cooler fan would spin up with the 2600, but not the 5800x. Please help. Edit. Got it to post to bios by swapping ram around. However I now get this message popping up in the screen everyone it posts. I have not installed windows on it yet.
  13. Hi There! I always come on her to find basic answers but this time, it's a posting time situation . I bought a i7 3930K + Asus Sabertooth x79 Motherboard, with a Asetek Water Cooler pre-installed for around $300CAD, to upgrade my girlfriends FX-8120 Gaming Rig. Basically upon buying it(Obviously used), he said it came out of storage. Showed me it booting it up into windows, and I was like stupidly, seeing all the components working and booting into a drive, I was set and bought it. Upon bringing it home and setting it up in a new case, began all the problems. So installing it wasn't much of an issue, I took of the cooler, and cleaned the CPU in the socket, and cleaned the cooler, and reapplied it with new thermal paste(Arctic Brand). I booted it into BIOS and seen the Temps keep jumping into the high 60's, and then stable out at 70C. I turned it off, and began to do research on if I applied the thermal paste properly and or if the fan/rad configuration was correct. With that said, I booted into windows and it then jumped to 80-85, so I turned it off completely. The next day(Today as of posting) I came to the conclusion that it was obviously the CPU cooler, I reset the BIOS, and while the battery was out I went to the local computer store where they still do curbside pickup, and bought a Cooler Master Hyper 212, and here's where things get crazy. After ONLY switching the cooler out, not touching the RAM, the CPU(again at this point, still never taken out of the socket), the computer won't even boot/post(I still don't know the difference), basically it won't boot even into the BIOS. I've tried reseating the RAM, reseating the CPU(At this point I've taken it out), checked, and no bent or broken pins, the points of contact on the CPU looks fine(I was super scared I cracked the CPU or something by putting the CPU Cooler, but it doesn't seem I did), RAM I tested in the older build, as well as the the PSU, which I've tried a spare as well. I've tried like almost everything myself and a couple friends can think of. I currently have two leads; - After I installed the motherboard the first time, and releasing after what the problem was, I unbolted it, from the case. In doing so, one of the standoffs seem to have came off from the case and is stuck to the bolt from the motherboard. I've read that sometimes standoffs like this COULD be something, not sure any information on this would be super awesome. - Secondly, my friend is searching for his case speaker(the 2-pin one), so I can get the Beep Code, and figure out from there what is going on. I really don't know what to do here, as the motherboard light IS on, but I've also read that that doesn't really mean much and I shouldn't really trust the light. I also didn't man-handle the CPU(I'm super super careful), also no cracks or loud noises when doing the cooler. I didn't do this on carpet I did this on hardwood flooring, but the PC was on carpet when used but not open so I don't see how this matters. I don't think he sold me a bunked system because it did boot into windows on his and MY side. I think it ran real hot because the CPU cooler died, while it was in storage, not sure about that situation but. And before anyone says anything YES I checked ALL connections multiple times, THOROUGHLY. With COVID going on, I can't really test it anywhere, nor can I really justify, spending more $$ if it's already lost cause, I wouldn't mind spending ALITTLE more but yeah. I hope someone can help me, ill answer any questions I can answer, thank you for reading, and have a great day! Hope everyone stays safe out there!
  14. Hi. I'm new here and I hope I posted where I should. First, my components: AMD Ryzen 7 2700x with stock cooler (Wraith Prism) Gigabyte Aorus Elite x570 (F10 bios - compatible with AMD 2000 series) Gigabyte RTX 2060 SUPER WINDFORCE OC Kingston HyperX Fury RGB 16GB (2x8GB), DDR4, 3200MHz, CL16, 1.35V Seasonic Focus GX, 80+ Gold, 650W SSD Samsung 970 EVO Plus 250GB BOOT DRIVE (first M2 slot) SSD Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB (second M2 slot) HDD Seagate BarraCuda 2TB (all in a well ventilated case) (all parts under warranty) Now I'm going to tell you a short story. I built this computer with the components mentioned above. Everything was fine, the computer started, post, I installed windows 10, I ran a few benchmarks, I checked the temperatures, everything seemed fine. After 2 weeks, it won't start (sometimes it started at first, other times I had to turn off / on the power switch to start, "strange behavior"), I didn't take it seriously. After 3 weeks the serious problems started, while I was in a game, I received BSOD with the following code: DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION (first BSOD). After going through "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just ..." it got stuck in the screen with the AORUS logo (I could enter the bios, but the computer doesm't boot in windows). As I had no other solution and I needed a desktop, I reinstalled windows, all the drivers (everything went well, I was confident that I solved the problems (I know, stupid)). After reinstalling windows, another BSOD came while I was on Google (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL). It pass from "Your PC ran into a problem ...", the computer restarted, but with major problems: Freezes - are constant, to help you better understand how it behaves, I will give an example, in League of Legends, with 144 FPS capped, goes down to 130 and goes up, very quickly, with a "BZZZ" in the background and a short delay (sound "BZZZ" always appears whenever a drop occurs). It happens to me in any application, on Youtube, on Spotify. Sometimes, it seems that something stabilizes and does not appear, but most of the time it is always present. Sometimes, during these drops, I also receive a BSOD. The most common errors in a week were "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT". The computer doesn't turn off when I press "shut down" (the monitor turns off, the RGB LEDs on the motherboard turn off, but the fans and the processor fan don't, full RPM). If I activate the XMP function in the bios, to change the RAM to 3200MHz, after saving the bios settings, the computer doesn't post anymore (black monitor, full fan speed). To turn it on, I have to turn off the power switch, and hold the power button for a few seconds (if I don't do that, the computer doesn't post, the fans start at full speed). The second M2 slot doesn't work (it didn't work when I tried to format it in the windows installation process, not even after). What have I tried so far? I looked for this error (MEMORY_MANAGEMENT) and found that it may be caused by a faulty RAM. A friend gave me 16 GB RAM (2x8) Corsair Vengeance LPX, 3200MHz, CL16. I replaced my RAM with my friend's RAM and solved the situation partially. I got rid of the BSODs (no BSOD in two weeks), but not the freezes (which behave the same), the "shut down" or the "method of start". I did stress tests (FurMark, OCCT), I never received BSOD during these tests (whether I was using my or my friend's RAM, temps were fine). I reassembled the entire system. Windows, updated to the last available version at this time. What haven't I tried? Many have recommended me to update the bios (I have F10 version now), but because of this strange behavior I'm a little scared, I don't want something to go wrong. I reinstalled windows once, I was thinking of reinstalling it again, but with the RAM from Corsair, maybe is a bad driver or something. Below I left a WhoCrashed log and all the BSODs errors I encountered after reinstalling windows. Thank you if you have read so far, I know I have written a lot, but I have tried to describe it in as much detail as possible, maybe someone can identify the problem exactly or give me some advice. If you need results from other test / software, just tell me and I will post here. I'm not an expert, if I don't find a solution here I'll probably try to RMA the motherboard, I think maybe this is the problem. Even if it has those constant freezes and drops, it's a bit usable, I can do my projects and what else I need. Thank you.
  15. I just built a new PC: Motherboard: Asus X99 Deluxe II CPU: Intel i7-6800K RAM: Corsair Vengeance LED 32GB DDR4 3000 Storage: Samsung 500GB 750 EVO SSD GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX GV-N1080G1 PSU: Corsair RM850x Cooler: Corsair H100i v2 When testing to see if it will post, I get no beeps from the motherboard and no video, but I get a Q Code readout of 53, which according to the manual is "Memory initialization error. Invalid memory type or incompatible memory speed". I checked the manual and my RAM is supported. I saw somewhere this could be an issue with an out of date BIOS, so (since I couldn't find the Deluxe II, only Deluxe I BIOS update online) I grabbed the bios off the included disk and put it on a USB drive. I used the USB BIOS Flashback button, which it successfully completed and stopped flashing. I tried reseating the RAM to be sure it was in all the way (yes, I heard two clicks per stick). I tried about every RAM configuration I could come up with (including zero ram, all the way up through 4 sticks), using various slots. I tried loosening the mounting screws on the cooler to see if that would help. I have tried clearing CMOS (both through the button, and through removing the battery for 20 minutes) and using the MEM OK button. Tried switching the XMP Profile switch. The 24, 8, and 4 pin connectors are all securely connected. I have checked all other connection and they are all secure. The glaring thing for me is that it shows a Q Code of 53 even with all RAM removed, which there is an individual Q Code for no RAM installed. Everything I am seeing is pointing to either a bad CPU or a bad motherboard, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to see if anyone had any suggestions.
  16. So, I decided to build my own PC. I have a Gigabyte G1.Sniper b7 motherboard, an Intel i7 7700K cpu, a corsair 850RMI psu, 32gb of Corsair 2133MHz memory, a Samsung 950 pro M.2 ssd, and a 2tb Western Digital Black Drive. Everything is plugged in (I think) and when I press the power button the lights and fans turn on, but there is no video being sent to the monitor. I'm using the onboard video without another video card plugged in. Any suggestions for a noob such as myself?
  17. I have a msi All in one desktop. The 320gb HDD that came with it is now full and I wanted to swap it out for a new 2tb HDD. After unplugging the PC, slapping on my anti static wrist strap (I created restore media), I pulled the 320gb drive, slapped in the 2tb and it doesn't post. The HDD status light stays on. Please help
  18. Hello LTT community, Note: (I'm sorry admins if I posted this in the wrong category/area, please move it to where it should be if need be.) Right so basically I've moved all the my/the same hardware from a Phanteks Enthoo Luxe black to a Thermaltake Core P5. In the process of connecting it back up for a test of life before cable-management I get 5 beeps from the Motherboard's alarm-speaker. Medium duration beeps. Now I'm lead to believ this is a CPU not mounted error or GPU not mounted error. Problem is I can't check the GPU because I have no on-board graphics module available on the ASRock 990FX Extreme6 mobo. I'm using a really old Gainward GTX580 reference-design cooler card. Now before I moved the case I would get ocassional screen black outs where my games would either crash or a black screen would appear and go after 5 seconds completely randomly under I guess GPU load; gaming/rendering (photoshop). 1.) I've already tried removing and re-seatting the RAM but nothing. EVen a single stick is a big no no. 2.) I've checked the fans all get power; PSU, CPU cooler and finally the GPU fan. 3.) I've taken the GPU out and ran the system to see about the alarm noises and beeps and it's still 5 medium duration beeps but I feel the beeps start to happen quicker with the GPU removed. I'm assuming this because the motherboard checklist before boot can't find a graphic-output device and fails quicker rather than when it's installed and mounted and powered by the PSU. Because then it has to do checklists on it's condition before boot. If anybody can help shine some light on this for me would excellent! Oh and due to thermaltake's shitty stand-off's I'm missing the bottom lower-left stand off screw holding it in although the stand off is present behind the board. Same with the middle stand-off for an ATX-size board. However I can see nothing is shorting on the pins against the case as I have a good top and side view. My SPECS are: +AMD 9590 4.7Ghz ASRock 990FX Extreme6 Gainward GTX580 1.5GB SG card Samsung 850 EVO Pro SSD 256GB Corsair CX750 (shitty corsair psu) Kingston HyperX Fury low-profile 1866Mhz 2x 4GB = 8GB ram dual channel config Any help would be really REALLY helpful lol. Regards, Brad
  19. Hello everyone and please help me. I am currently at my grandparents house and their PC won't work for some reason. I know a decent amount of pc's and built my own. Its a dell Inspirion 660 (lol ) and it won't post or something along that line. What its doing is when I press the power button it turns on just fine but then what it does Is it comes up with a loading bar thing. (whether I press del or not) After its done "loading" it goes instantly to this "DELL" Screen and stays there eternally. I think it could be a graphics problem because of the fuzzy pixels on top. I dont have any spare parts because I am away from home. I have some pics to show please any answers/suggestions would help. Thanks.
  20. oksy so here this goes i just purchased the following GA-z170x-gaming 3 rev. 1.0 motherboard 6600k hyper t4 gigabyte windforce oc gtx1070 ripjaws v ddr4-3000 ( F4-3000C15D-16GVKB ) not listed as supported by mobo just checked with the list on gigabytes website im running a ocz 120gb solidstate and a 500 gb hd i am all put together all connectors are connected properly and i cannot get it to post what i am thinking is that maybe the ram is causing an issue and wont let me post because it isnt supported by the motherboard has anyone run into this issue and how can i test this to see As well when i try to turn it on to get it to post it powers on and then goes into a loop where it shuts down the lights and fans shut off and it tries again this is my first pc build and i am kind of lost
  21. I just got myself and brand new asus strix 1070 after installing it it started power cycling and it doesn't post so I tried putting in my old 970 and it's still power cycling but stays on for longer. I feel like I may of broken my pcie slot but I don't really know. I have an rm550 psu which should have enough wattage. I'm really stuck and don't know what to do?
  22. I recently bought a gtx 780 lightning and a gtx 780ti founders edition. Neither of which will post no matter what I have tried, i have an i7 4770k an Asus sabertooth z78 and 16gb of ram and my build will post with the igpu on the i7 but not with the graphics cards I just want to know whether I should just chuck them
  23. Hey guys, my buddies new PC build won't post/won't allow us to install windows off boot drive. We thought it was the mother board so we swapped it out, but still no luck. RAM tested in another PC, have not tested GPU in another machine yet, we have a feeling it's the CPU. The PC gets to bios, we choose to boot off windows boot usb drive, and then it shows the windows 10 logo splash screen, gets the spinning cirlces for about 3 seconds then just goes to a fatal error screen, trys to reboot, has a different error, does this loop about 3 times then kicks back to bios. I've taken the hard drive out and installed windows on it with the same boot media in a different PC and it worked fine. Slotted that hard drive back in the New PC and it booted to windows 10, worked for 10 minutes then failed and won't go back into it. PLEASE HELP LOL this is incredibly frustrating, we've been trying everything we can but we don't have another AM4 pc handy to test the CPU in. Don't have full specs handy, only CPU and Motherboard are acurate, otherwise I know rough brand and type, but not exact productSpecs: AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Original motherboard: ASRok AB350 Pro4 ATX New Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B450M-A mATX MSI GTX 1080 Corsair 16gb x1 stick Kingston 120gb I can get the rest of the specs soon! ANYTHING WOULD HELP THANKS
  24. Hello there ! First post on this forum, i'll try to make it quick ! I recently decided to upgrade my old rig so i went and bought: i9 9900k + 2080 from aorus + 4x8Go 3600 CAS 16 from Ballistix (here is the reference: BLE4K8G4D36BEEAK) + 1To mp510 from Corsair, running on a z390 Aorus master. My point is: did i make something wrong in my choosing ? I mean compatibility wise. Did i pick up components that are not supposed to work with eachother ? Why am I asking this you say? Because when I assembled those pieces together, they worked fined for maybe 40min then the PC froze. Since then it won't post. The MB gets stuck on weird error codes like D4 (04 ?) or 71 which are respectively referenced as "reserved" and "PCH SMM initialisation" (wtf is that ?! even the tech guy from gigabyte couldn't tell me what it is). Of course i tried to reset, Clear CMOS, use back up bios etc it's always the same. The only thing that creates a different outcome is when i boot with no RAM installed, in which case i can hear the continuous beeps. Anyway, I called tech support, they provided me with a brand motherboard, but nothing changed. Same error code, so as im writing those lines, my CPU and RAM aer getting replaced, but i can't but wonder.... Did i do something wrong or is it just my karma that's really really bad ? PS: do you guys know something about code 71 on aorus card ? i've been loonking for answer but couldn't find a hint. Such a shame i read so many good comments on this MB Since it's my first post and english is not my first language, i'm sorry if my writing is tough to go through. Thx for reading !
