Heya, I recently built a new PC with the following specs - Intel Core i9-9900k MSI Ventus 2080 Super OC Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB DDR4 RAM 1TB Samsung 970 EVO NVMe SSD 4TB SeaGate Barracuda HDD Corsair H100i Liquid CPU Cooler It's a monster of a computer, and I couldnt wait to fire it up and get some super high FPS in games, I've got all of my drivers up to date, yet for some reason when I run TW3 with DSR (4k) (GeForce Optimized) I get 40fps at 99% GPU usage, whereas if I am not using DSR, I am sitting at 60fps at all times (VSync) in 1080p. It's really beginning to stress me out, I spent £2000 on this PC, and I'm kinda disappointed to see this happening :/ Does anyone know what the issue is, and how I can fix it? Thanks in advance :)

Ars Technica is giving away The Witcher for free. They're "teaming up" with GOG to do a number of things it sounds like. What that all means, I'm not sure yet. "More Coming Soon". https://arstechnica.co.uk/gaming/2017/04/ars-gog-free-games-partnership/

So when I play the Witcher 3, I get an average of around 60-65FPS and highs of 75FPS at ultra with my GTX 1070 at 1440p. However, when I'm sprinting in Novigrad or in places with a lot of NPCs, my PC seems to drop to 45 to 50FPS and the frametime increases to 50ms or even more, which makes the game nearly unplayable. You can see my PC's specs in my signature, I highly doubt anything bottlenecks a 1070 in my build, an overclocked 4690k and 16GBs of RAM. Note: It seems that my GPU usage can drop to 65% while my CPU usage can go all the way up to 99% (Or so MSI afterburner says)

Hi! This is something that happens to me in almost all demanding games. (For example Witcher 3 ATM) With a little bit of tweaking, I can get most games to run at an almost completely steady 60 FPS. However, I'm quite often getting split second freezes. The FPS counter often shows 59 FPS during the freeze, but it feels like it's just showing the same frame for maybe 0.2 seconds) This doesn't really happen at any particular point in games, it just happens now and then. I don't know if it helps, but my graphics makes a constant high pitched whine when playing games, and this whine stops during the freeze. (I do not think it's "coil whine", it's less of a tone and more of a fan-type of sound) I'm wondering if something could be bottlenecking my performance. Both my graphics card and my CPU maxes out on 100% when this happens. I seem to only use 6/8 gigs of ram. Should I upgrade my CPU? Or is this something I have to accept with a 970 card? Is something else limiting my performance? Specs: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU 3.40GHz (4 CPUs) (Intel LGA1155 Core i5 3580K) Gainward GeForce GTX 970 4GB Phantom Crucial DDR3 BallstiX 1600M hz 8GB kit NZXT PHantom Big Tower Corsair CX 500W PSU Samsung SSD 840 Series 120GB Seagate Barracuda 2TB SATA3.0 (This is what my games are on) Windows 10 home

I recently upgraded my processor hoping it would fix my fps problems in the Witcher, however I noticed something odd, my game is only using 50-60% of my GTX 1060 and in the pause menu it shoots up to 100% usage. There isnt a cpu bottleneck with my i5 6600, nor does changing any settings affect the framerate, in general my frames average from 30-50 and for some reason it won't go up to over 60 like it is supposed to. Was there a driver update for Nvidia that is causing this problem? Specs: GTX 1060 6GB i5 6600, Hyper 212 Evo Hyperx Ram 2133mhz

Hello guys it's my first time here ?. Hope everyone is doing okay. So I'll begin ?. My desire it to able to play in 1080p with the highest FPS possible games like the lastest volumes of The Witcher and Tomb Raider series. I don't have a monitor yet, but I have a Sony Bravia 1080p 40inch TV (planning to get a 2k monitor next year) and a Laptop Lenovo Ideapad 310 (i5-6200u, SSD Samsung Evo 860, 8gb ddr4 2133) I'm on a very tight budget this year for building a new pc for gaming, but in 2020 I could be able to do that with new pc parts and the right office table. I neither wanna buy an old pc with a LGA1150 or LGA1155 motherboard, because I can get at most 3 months of warranty for refurbished pcs. My idea here is to combine a GTX 1660 with my actual Laptop for the moment. This CPU "very low consumption" seems to be an equal to the i3-2120 in terms of performance over the multiple sites I checked over. Is the GTX 1660 (new for 230$) a good choice, or should I stick with a used RX 480 (used for 120$) or RX 580 (used for 145$) in order to save money. I made a snapshot on a comparison at gpucheck.com. The GTX 1660 on average seems to reach 81 FPS in High Settings, but just 2 FPS lower with the RX 580 and 5 FPS lower with the cheap RX 480. I'm not sure whether I get the GTX 1660 for now and for the future upgrade, or If that too much a bootleneck for this CPU should I stick with one of those used RX X80s (cheapest bang for the buck in my country). Thank you in advance for your advices ?

Hi, I've recently played Witcher 3 on my PC, medium/high details at 50-60fps. Averything okay. No I've purchased Witcher 1 Enchanced Edition from GOG, but on high settings games runs at 15-20 fps. GPU usage stays around 16-30% and CPU at 25-30%. GPU doesn't even kick into higher GPU clock speed, stays at around 700MHz (max is 1189MHz). Newest Nvidia drivers, other games work as usual. What's wrong and what can I do bout that?

It's actually just crazy that this is implemented and working correctly. There is no other company that I think would waste time and money to do the programming and testing for an aspect ratio like this. The reply is from the guy that supposedly did the actual testing for this aspect ration at CDPR: [@LinusTech seems like Witcher 3 is your game, as it supports the 96:9, aka UltraUltraUltraWide aspect ratio lol]

Hi, I started playing The Witcher 3 recently and immediately realized that I was intimidated by the sheer size of the world and the amount of content in the game. Whereas the mere thought of GTA5's Los Santos and Watch Dogs 2's San Francisco made me want to play those games, Witcher 3's Continent did nothing of the sort. I know, objectively speaking, the Witcher 3 is as good as games get. It is worth all the praise being showered on it to this day. I just want to know if someone else was intimidated the way I was. PS: I would also like to mention that I'm under medication for clinical depression and anxiety. That may also be a factor in how I felt about the game.

I posted this in general troubleshooting but thought it'd be more appropriate here: I'm using an MSI 270x HAWK in Windows 10 Pro 64 bit and am having driver problems. If relevant, it's running a 4690k (not overclocked) in an AsRock Z97M-ITX board with 2x4GB 1866MHz Kingston RAM. Until now I had been using an older ~15.6 version of GPU drivers, which worked but had some strange quirks with really bad light flickering and texture flickering in modern games. In Fallout 4 I fixed this by turning the lighting detail level down, but in Witcher 3 nothing had any effect. Thus, I uninstalled this driver using DDU and updated to Crimson 15.12 drivers. This is where the real fun began, every time I open the Crimson settings panel, it freezes after about ~2 seconds and goes transparent, with a Windows 'display driver stopped working (amdkmpap)' message coming up, thus barring me from using overdrive etc. Various games are working fine (Fallout 4, Witcher 2) but as soon as I get into the game proper in Witcher 3 after loading a save, it immediately freezes with the same windows message as above (sometimes while still loading). Since then, I've used DDU to cleanly uninstall in safe mode, and then install many different versions of driver, Crimson and non-Crimson, but each one is having the same problem (14.12 actually caused blue screens too), the old catalyst control center would open OK but I'd still have problems in Witcher 3. I've tried stress testing with Furmark, GPU is running cool and normal at stock clocks. I've updated all firmware and BIOS, but the problems persists. Windows has been updated to latest version (1511), I've done an sfc /scannow, verified Witcher game data in Steam, and also redownloaded Witcher 3. My other PC running a 280x with 15.12 Crimson drivers has had zero problems at all with Witcher 3, unfortunately I don't have access to it now and I'd love to get back into Witcher 3 Any ideas would be greatly appreciated Edit: GTA 5 has now stopped working entirely like Witcher 3, but Fallout 4 works flawlessly, could that possibly narrow the problem down?

I know little about the witcher franchise but have been interested in it. The steam Christmas sale can get me ever game for $35 . So I'm looking for your guys insight, what you gave the series out of 10? What would you give each game individually? Thanks guys!

So I got 30 bucks on steam to spend and I'm on a debate on whether to get The Witcher 3 or Assassin's Creed Syndicate. Which one is overall better in your opinion?

Been playing Witcher 3 and have spent more time playing Gwent than the actual game. Anyone else done this? What strategies do you use? Personally I bait them out of cards in first round (and play my spies) then use just enough to win second and crush them third. Preferred decks and deck building. Where to get good cards? extra...

Hello! This tool allows you to modify everything in the game, DLC, colors, graphics, audio and more. As always, backup your saves when using this. Furthermore it works with the latest patch 1.04.
