Hey everyone, For the past year at least I have been unable to download the windows security update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Version 1.395.806.0). It's starting to cause various problems on my PC because It's getting so out of date so I finally gave up and came here. (I believe It's what preventing me from turning on core isolation for example) The advice I've seen on the MS forums is to either download a newer version of .net framework or a .net framework troubleshooter, but both of these downloads get "blocked by my organization" even though I'm not part of one and no matter if I use chrome or edge. (I get this same message trying to download other things as well.) I'm really at my wits end here and any help would be appreciated (Windows 11 btw)

Just updated my Windows 10 laptop a few days ago and noticed it has started booting up to the log in screen instead of the usual welcome screen where you click or press enter before the log in screen shows. I didn't configure it to go straight to the log in screen. Did Microsoft made it official to go straight to the log in screen after booting up?

A few weeks ago I launched Witcher 3 and noticed that the game was really laggy, constant FPS drops. I restarted the game, and on the 2nd try the entire PC just went dark and rebooted... Event viewer told me the graphics card/driver crashed. Before it put me at the login screen, it shortly mentioned something about updates. So before troubleshooting the GPU I checked Windows Update and saw an update for "Steelseries - Aps". I installed it and rebooted, and then it got stuck for over an hour on "Working on updates, do not turn your PC off" with no progress bar. I got back in and checked event viewer which was just spammed with "DCOM got error "1115" attempting to start the service UsoSvc with arguments "Unavailable" in order to run the server" throughout the "update" and then an error about Windows Module Installer force quitting. I've tried googling this but I haven't got any luck figuring out what causes it. And after this I've been unable to install any updates other than Defender definitions... They all get stuck on downloading at 4%, next reboot they're at 0% installed, then next boot they're "installed" and this cycle repeats with every restart. And in-between every single reboot it gets stuck at the updates screen for 60-70 minutes, but shutting down works fine? I've tried: Running sfc /scannow which found corruptions at first but now nothing. DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth just goes blank without a progress bar, but checking the cbs.log it seems to be running? Either way it's stuck blinking in the cmd and stops with some of these errors: Sometimes the progress gets further, but it always just stops like this. Seems to be the same when I try to download a new update. Running the WU troubleshooter, it just keeps saying there's a pending restart when there's not. And after clearing the WU download folder it just gets just stuck after telling me that now. Booted into safe mode with networking, and their DISM and the Windows Update troubleshooter finally seem to work, but I have no internet because the network card driver is disabled? I've tried running these commands from the Microsoft documentation(not the ones below that though), and it seemed to reset WU, but they still just get stuck doing nothing with further errors The only things that come to mind is to run DISM offline, but documentation for that is very scarce. And I don't know if running the Windows 11 upgrade tool will work either since WU is so broken... I'm really at a loss here. It's a completely fresh Windows 11 install that I've only used for 3 weeks and apart from the aforementioned I don't know what to do apart from re-installing completely, which I'd really like to avoid since I just finished setting everything up. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this?

Hi there, My PC auto applied a windows 11 update today, after which my PC performance slowed to a crawl. Task manager showed my boot SSD (Crucial P5 1tb) at a constant 100% utilization. I decided to reboot and see if this was just a glitch. Now my bios doesn't even recognize the drive in the slot on the motherboard. Tried swapping to a different SSD in the same slot, which the bios then detected. However, trying the Crucial P5 in the slot again still shows nothing. Do you think the Crucial P5 is bricked? System details: Motherboard: ASRock H510M-ITX/ac SSD: Crucial P5 1TB 3D NAND NVMe - CT1000P5SSD8

Hi y'all I know you can stop Windows Update from updating drivers through Group Policy, works best I think, but there are other ways also. But is there a way to stop Windows Update from updating the GPU drivers? So all other drivers are okay, just not and never the GPU drivers. I'm using Windows 11 Pro Thanks in advance

Hello, I have Windows 10 64-bit with current update. I have noticed that some system settings that I have modified and some changes that I have done to Windows registry return to their original state after Windows updates. It gets tedious to apply changes that have been done previously after Windows updates. Is there some kind of script that could automate or ease this task?

Hi all, I've been having an ongoing issue for a while now and was hoping you could help me out. Since April of this year my PC has been trying and failing to update, as you can see in the first image. However the weird thing is that the smaller quality updates have been able to install fine it's only the 20H2 update that it's been struggling with. Every time with the same error code is present and when I try googling this error code I see something about an audio driver for a device that I don't have (Conexant) or something to do with storage space on the C drive (I have 172GB free so I don't think that's the issue either). So I'm at a loss as to what could be causing the failure, however on Saturday just gone I downloaded and started the Windows 10 Update Assistant and all seemed to be going fine. It detected my out of date version and downloaded, verified and started to install. It raced up to around 70% and after that the progress got very slow. Around 1% every 5-10 minutes in some cases. I figured this was normal as it was doing a few updates at once and just left it while I went out. I got home a few hours later and it was on 99%. I thought it was weird that it was taking so long but maybe I'd just caught it at the right time so I kept an eye on it for the rest of the day and it didn't move from 99%, didn't move from 99% all of Sunday, and today when I got home from work it was still on 99% so it's been on 99% for roughly 48 hours now. The only things I had open in my system tray on Saturday and Sunday while running the Update Assistant were Malware Bytes, the programs for my Sennheiser headset and Steelseries mouse, and the Nvidia software. Does anyone have any idea how I can update my PC and what could be causing these issues? Also, what can I do about the Update Assistant as there's no way to close it or cancel it that I can see and I'm worried to restart my PC while it's in progress? If you need any more information on my peripherals or anything then just let me know. Thanks!

Hello, I wanted to update to Windows 11, but before ask if I have to pay attention to something (except the system receiverment)? For example, reinstall drivers or other software (like Ryzen Master, Radeon Software, etc.) or whether everything fits. Patrick

I have a Nitro 5, I7-11800H, it came with Win11 (21H2). Everything was working fine until 2 days ago update KB5010795 (OS Build 22000.438) Out-of-band came out, when the system was rebooting it was not as quick as before, I figure it’s an new update maybe it still being installed, when it finally opened I realized my second drive (D:) is running at 100%, when is not running at 100% it’s not there at all. Any insight on how to take care of this? I tried to restore the system but it was unsuccessful, my second drive is still not showing. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I was wondering if you can help me with updating windows since I couldn't find anything helpful on google in 4 hours. When I go to windows update I get this message(image included) that says I need to go to troubleshoot it. I then troubleshoot it but troubleshoot says it's all fine. I found one solution on google that says to go to services.msc and find windows update and select automatic but every time I select automatic and click apply and start it, it stops and gives me a message "Windows could not start the Windows Update service on Local Computer. Error 1058: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.". I then click ok and Windows update service goes back to disabled. If you have any other troubleshooting tips please help.

windows update Windows Update error code 666 on Windows 8.1
svenwlive posted a topic in Troubleshooting
I was doing updates on my pc and i got a very suspicious error code. It was just saying 666 as the error code. I'm very confused on why is it that specific number. After i saw the error code i just came here to ask about it. Please help me with this error code. -
As I have noticed and don't quite understand why it has to be this way. But in windows updates and going to the driver section, I get intel wifi 22.60, while on intel's own page it says 22.50? So how do I know what driver is what, and if you have essentially 2 drivers that may be a little different now, for the same thing?

Hey, I'm facing a weird problem from the last day. I installed windows 11 beta on my PC and its working just fine, after some hours a dot net firmware update came and updated automatically and restart the PC. But this time the PC won't boot at all, stuck on the motherboard logo screen and wasn't taking any input or command from keyboard keys. I searched online and found some solution like cleaning cmos battery, using a basic keyboard, unplug everything and re-plug. But none of the solution worked. I attached a video of it. I tried to remove the ssd and then it boot and it goes to bios. I check the ssd with another PC and it working just fine. This motherboard from gigabyte and model is B450 S2H. This is a rebuild from local company called Walton. Here are my configs - AMD Ryzen 3400G -Team Group 16 Gb 3200 Mhz -Gigabyte B450 S2H -Antec 450 Watt psu -ADATA XPG SSD fdfdfdfdfdf.mp4

There's just a whole slew of issues with this PC and I'm at my wits end now. I've brought it to Microcenter for BSODs, random page crashes in Chrome, and an inability to sustain more than 30 minutes of The Outer Worlds gameplay before black screen crashing. They guessed it could be my mobo or PSU, but they were unable to replicate any of my issues so they added more thermal paste to the cpu, made sure my GPU was fully installed and gave it back. Still got BSODs, but the hardware has been stress tested, RAM has been mem tested (no issues), and I still can't tell what's wrong with it. Windows Update has failed every update since my last refresh at the end of July. Games like Overwatch crash sometimes, and now what used to be instant boot up with my SSD is now taking as long as my old HDD in my old desktop. Also getting DISM error 87 and 193 when trying to run in elevated command. This is my first official build and I'm about to hit that 1yr mark since I built it and have been attempting to troubleshoot it. Attached are the files requested when it comes to BSODs, and below are the specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor 3.80 GHz Mobo: X570 AORUS PRO WIFI (rev. 1.1/1.2) F30 BIOS GPU: EVGA NVIDIA 3070 OS: Window 10 Home versions 21H1, OS build 19043.1110 RAM: 16GB; Trident Z Neo; DDR4-3600 8gb; CL16-19-19-39 PSU: Seasonic Prime TX-850; Safety Model SSR-850TR Any help would be seriously appreciated. I just want my damned PC to work 083121-8671-01.zip

Had already downloaded this update, but I kept pushing the installation restart for a few days. Now I am just skeptical about whether I should update or not, because I have read some posts mentioning some bugs, for example, the search function not working, which is VERY IMPORTANT for me, because I know the frustration you get when you dont have Windows search(experienced it once when after an update). Should I upgrade to 21H1? Have you experienced any bugs/problems after upgrading? Thanks!

Sys info: 3800X have had precision boost overdrive on for a long time worked perfectly fine. using the Scythe Ninja 5 cpu cooler MSI MPG X570 Gaming edge wifi 1050TI (yes I did have a different gpu but sold it bc of rumors of new 30series. used an old 710 for 6 months while hoping for availability... than bit the bullet and bought a 1050ti for 150) 2X 500GB nvme ssd's 1TB hhd So now for my problem last night I updated windows only to wake up the next day to my computer completely fucking spasming out. I couldn't open file explorer or windows settings or basically any windows service for that matter. I tried to load a backup of my pc but couldn't as windows was barely working than tried to roll back the update which also didn't work due to the same issue. So I decided to do a reset keeping my prerenal files but removing all apps as that seemed to be the only thing working. Also I was planning on cleaning my pc anyhow so that wasn't a big deal but after doing this it installed the same update that gave me trouble last time. And now windows works (sort of) but its terribly slow (search and settings are even slower than usual) and has lots of weird issues. But that's not all now I'm getting random crashes under load (also while gaming) windows reliability tool doesn't tell me anything just that it shuts down unexpectedly so naturally I reinstalled every driver I could find but no use it still crashes. The stress tests run for about 3 min before crashing (pretty consistently) and before crashing I noticed all audio getting weird and crumbly. Despite this I don't think its a thermal issue as CPU package ram and chipset are well within reason (full load CPU is at about 74degrees but its also not turboing correctly its only getting 4.1ghz) I have never had issues with this hardware before and only had overdrive on so no major overclocking does anyone have any idea what to do? i'd say I'm ok techy but I can't figure it out I could do a full reset removing everything but I really don't want to. if you have any questions or suggestions please let me know. Sorry for the spotty English no native (:

For some Strange reason after I installed some windows updates including: "2021-05 Update for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based systems (KB4023057)" "2021-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based systems (KB5003637)" The DisplayPort function on my PC stopped working, I have tested with 2 DisplayPort cables into the same monitor and into all 3 ports on my graphics card but to no avail, my monitor briefly turns on but only to display a "No DisplayPort Signal" message. My original Displayport cable, which I have only used for less than a month, was working just fine, updated Windows, then in the morning got the no signal message... weirdly enough HDMI still works... I have no idea if it is my monitor's DisplayPort port being busted (Despite never being used for the years I have had it until a few months ago), the DisplayPort ports on my graphics card (Which I pray to god isn't the case) or if it is simply to do with the windows updates or a faulty NVIDIA Driver update. I have tried uninstalling the feature update but was not able to, and uninstalled the Quality update, but nothing has changed. Current NVIDIA Driver: 466.77 (no updates available at the time of writing) It's worth saying as well that I have my old rig to one side which has DisplayPort on it, 1080Ti, I tested that with the same monitor and original DP cable and the no signal message persisted, which is why I bought a new Cable in the first place. I am in a real bind here, this could be the difference between just re-installing some drivers/windows again, to sending in my graphics in for RMA in which I may never see it again, to buying a new monitor.
