I’m having issues with my truenas scale smb share. On windows clients when trying to transfer large amounts of files, 10k-30k+ files of varying sizes, after several hours of transferring will throw up an error saying “Too many files in use”. I enabled smb 2 on the windows client. Record size on the dataset is set to default 128k mostly defaults for ACL, sync is disabled for faster speed. The host system is an old AMD Bulldozer Fx8320 with 32Gb of ram in 8Gb x 4 configuration non ecc as the mb doesn’t support it. I have a two 120Gb SSD’s setup as log and read caches one for each. Using an approved intel NIC since the realtec onboard nic is not compatible with truenas per documentation. The dataset / vdev pool is two 2Tb Seagate Barracuda drives in a mirrored configuration. The smb share is configured as only smb not generic. Everything works great and the r/w speeds are more than acceptable except for when transferring large amounts of files. It doesn’t seem to be an issue transferring large files like multi gb files, just when sending large numbers of files. I’ve done some googling and searched the truenas scale forums and didn’t find any resolutions only other with the same issue. The client is a windows 11 Hp laptop 1st gen Rizen apu with 32Gb ram and 1Tb sata ssd.

So I have been trying to get an old Windows 98 PC up and running. Long story short, it turns out my Caesar III cd install replaces a Windows file oleaut32.dll which the NVIDIA graphics driver is looking for. So I need to somehow get the original oleaut32.dll file back or replace it again with one that won't cause issues with the NVIDIA graphics driver. forum post about this issue: https://www.techsupportforum.com/threads/found-fix-for-nvcpl-dll-error.34052/ potential oleaut32.dll file, but not sure if its safe or how to replace the file on my PC: https://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/O/OLEAUT32.DLL/5.1.2600.2180/download.html

Hi first time writing on a forum. I’ve had problem with my laptop for a while. It won’t start windows 10, either its just a spinning loading wheel or the wheel freezes. I can start up the troubleshooting I think it’s called and safety mode but when I try to run a diagnostic it just keeps going or shuts down and say it can’t find my problem or it couldn’t repair what was making windows not start. It shut down while I was on blender, at that time I had just started 3D modelling and I tried to render some models when I fired the pc up again I just shut down after a few minutes. And that kept on for a while. I tried restoring it and it said something about windows wasn’t properly installed so I downloaded windows from a friends computer and tried installing it but the same things happens, windows won’t start up. I have also tried factory reset but it didnt help and I have tried to install windows several times the laptop is an asus rog g750j it has an intel I 7 cpu and an nvidia GeForce FTC 860m 64 bit 8 gigs of ram I think I bought it in 2014 or 15 please help

Lets go with the long full story as those are great for troubleshooting Ive had a r9 280x gpu for almost 5 years now, Ive decided to upgrade for a few reasons: 1. to play DOOM (because vulkan stopped working for an unknown reason and now i have 2 fps instead of the old 100.) 2. to play the new DOOM 3. one of the fans stopped working (the one further from the pcie) 4. VERY high gpu usage in some games (ck2, tomb raider) and therefore its loud So my 5700XT arrives. I go to r/AMD into the troubleshooting thread and ask what now, someone says it should work fine but clean driver reinstall is best. So I follow a DDU guide: download latest drivers, turn off windows autoinstalling drivers, go to msconfig and restart into safemode, run DDU then turn off, unplug pc, swap the gpu, turn on pc. It is in safemode again. I check to see what the DDU did, I cant see any changes, the driver files are still there. So I look for everything with "radeon" in it and go deleting. I delete: 1. the radeon-software-adrenalin files in c/amd 2. the same files in c/amd/packages/apps 3. the same files in c/amd/packages/drivers 4. some pf file called RADEONSETTINGS in c/windows/prefetch 5. many strangely named (example: 54ae5f4ad2f1...) qmlc files in appdata/local/radeonsettings/cache/qmlcache Then I try to install the latest drivers(20.4.1), Error 192 - cant install cos limited capabilities or something, welp, looks like its cos safemode. So I go to msconfig again and do normal boot, restart and here I am in normal resolution, frowning face windows did an oopsie. It restarts, frowning face windows did an oopsie It restarts, frowning face windows did an oopsie It restarts, something about backup, I go to advanced options, advanced boot It restarts, I select 4.) safe mode It restarts, here I am in safemode again, where I began all those minutes ago, I try drivers again, same error, so I restart, what else to do? It restarts, frowning face windows did an oopsie It restarts, frowning face windows did an oopsie even before I saw the normal resolution It restarts, normal resolution, no crashes, stable, hmm, so I enter PIN and here I am, everything magically works. I can finally install the drivers, so I do, it works. New interface, 2020, whatever. All´s good. So like the idiot I am I restart my pc one final time. It restarts, frowning face windows did an oopsie It restarts, frowning face windows did an oopsie It restarts, safe mode again, after a few seconds of functioning however, crash It restarts, something about backup, I go to advanced options, advanced boot It restarts, I select 5.) safe mode with networking It restarts, here I am in safe mode again but with internet this time. I check my files: 1. win10-radeon-software-adrenalin is there in c/amd 2. nothing in c/amd/packages 3. no RADEONSETTINGS but 3 new pf files in c/windows/prefetch , RADEONSOFTWARE and RADEONINSTALLER and WIN10-RADEON-SOFTWARE-ADRENALIN 4. no qmlc files whatsoever 5. some new files in c/amd/CNext The same fan still isnt working (unless I spin it myself, making new thread for it, this is too weird), gpu is lit up but not being detected by device manager (neither are the drives tho) So I go to linusdroptips for advice as I always do and here I am writing this, what now? Keep restarting until it magically fixes itself again? If there is an issue then it will just break again with the next re-boot. So fellas, what to do? edit: update, After downloading a missing dll file called atiadlxx I managed to install the latest stable driver and use the pc for a few hours until it crashed again. After about 7 more crashes and restarts I got back and noticed that the driver wasnt working at all, it didnt launch at startup (after reading logs i figured it was the driver trying to start up that was causing the crashes) and it couldnt even be launched any other way. So I installed the driver again and it worked. Until another crash of course. One of my theories is that windows is faulty (supported by the missing dll file) so I ran sfc /scannow which found a few corrupted files. That didnt seem to fix anything at all so I ran ddu and amd cleanup again and tried to get the latest optional (20.4.1) drivers again but had a corruption during the install. Tried again and got the atiadlxx.dll thing again. So I replaced it with the downloaded one and it installed but kept crashing. I have now put in my old gpu (280x) and its running fine on these (20.4.1) drivers. The crashes Im getting keep having the WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR which is a hardware failure so can it still be a windows issue or is it a faulty gpu? Truly Advanced Malfunctioning Devices. edit2: Update 2: So, I have reinstalled Windows according to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldqFdcGL1X0 which allowed me to keep all my everything still here. I then deleted the windows.old folder with the disk cleanup tool and restarted to be sure. While it is not a "fresh" install that would wipe my whole entire drive, even if I did such a thing I would still redownload everything that I have on here so it wouldnt change a thing. There is nothing unessential on my PC. So what now? Do I try to put in the new GPU and see if it works? I have noticed that the RADEON files in c/windows/prefetch are missing so perhaps my drivers wont function as they should. Do I do the whole driver wipe again just to be sure? edit3 Update 3: So I istalled the latest chipset drivers and then used DDU again to reinstall the gpu drivers again. It went fine without a hitch, functional PC afterwards. Then I turned off the PC and put in the new GPU. Booted fine, everything functional. I ran a benchmark for Tomb Raider, 333 avg fps on highest, lovely. Ran it again, same thing. I noticed a strange sound coming from the GPU at high load(TR was pushing it to 100% at all times). Will put in the recording of this sound. You can hear the fans a bit altough in reality theyre not that loud but the sound Im referring to is a high pitched one that almost sounds like torture, maybe coil wine? While I went to listen to it in another room, the crash happened. Blue screen WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR as always. Looks like it wasnt Windows then. The only possible issue remaining is the BIOS, Ill try to update that next. The motherboards website says to get the "all in 1" drivers but isnt that just the chipset+gpu drivers? I have those already. Will post results at some point within the next 24 hours. gpu recording audio.mp3 edit4: update4: I updated the BIOS, the black screen after the restart was very long and I was starting to get worried but it eventually booted up. When I clicked on the up-pointing arrow in the bottom-right corner of my screen to see whether my drivers were running I was once again met with a blue screen PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA or something along those lines. Okay, new type of an error, I´m going somewhere, after a restart however, all was fine. IT WORKS! It has been stable so far at least, if this were to change I´d certainly come back and update the post. My PSU fan is making some strange noises , there seems to be some metal clacking in there which was kinda fixed when I turned the pc back up as it has been laying on the ground for the last few days while I was constantly swapping the GPUs. Vulkan issue wasn´t fixed, DOOM is still a broken mess running at 60fps with OpenGL, pretty sad considering I was gettin 100fps with my old card back when Vulkan worked but oh well, I sure hope the new DOOM Eternal works with Vulkan or I can´t imagine how much fps I will get in that one. Another nitpick: the GPU fans dont spin unless I´m playing a game which is a little concerning as according to radeon software the card still runs at almost 50°C. Its even hot to the touch, the backplate that is. I will look into changing this so they are always spinning even when idle, they are extremely silent and even while gaming the cpu fan is still louder. A strange thing (bug?) also, according to device manager my gpu is at 40-60% usage while watching a video or stream but radeon software says it isn´t being used at all.

Hello, I have been building a new gaming computer for about a year now. I am still missing a graphics card but i was trying to install windows onto the hard drive to get a head start. I have read in other places that i would be able to do this because of the integrated gpu in my cpu. I am using a bootable usb to install windows. It lets me pick my language, time and currency, and etc. It will let me pick my hard drive and start the download and install. Once its done it wants to restart but once its done and it is booting this back in get the attached bsod. hardware: I9-9900k Cpu gigabyte z390 gaming x motherboard seagate barracuda 2tb hardrive G. Skill trident z rgb 2x 8gb ram what is causing this issue or is there a way to find out/fix it? Thanks for the help

Hello All, I've come across an issue with my new build. Upon boot, I'm greeted with a windows installation error on the splash screen. I've tried reimaging the system several times but it keeps blue screening when the system restarts to complete the installation. I've gone as far as exchanging just about every part from the retailer, in the case that one of the parts I bought was bad. I also tried every other 1TB NVMe PCIe Gen 3 SSD they sold and I STILL HAD THE SAME ISSUE. Tried a more powerful PSU my buddy had, same issue. The only way I was able to get it to work is if I use this jank looking 512GB Union Memory brand SSD I had in an old Lenovo laptop, but I'd really like to use a 1TB NVMe. What could be the issue here? Here's a list of specs: CPU - AMD Ryzen 3900x GPU - Power Color Radeon 5700 XT SSD - Intel 660p NVMe 1TB MB - ASUS TUF Gaming X570-PLUS (wi-fi) RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws V 32 (2 x 16 B) DDR4 - 3600 PSU: Powerspec 750 watt 80+ Gold I''l provide an example pic of the windows error I'm getting

I just put together my very first pc but the dang graphics card doesn't work. It doesn't show up in my device manager. The only thing that shows up when I go to display adapters is the microsoft basic display adapter. The pc recognized the graphics card before I downloaded the windows 10 update that said something nvidia in it and now when I open up afterburner all it says is there is the display adapter. I also found that windows update failed to install the nvidia graphics adapter update so I don't really know what to do here. I went to nvidia's website and tried to download the latest driver from there but then I get a this isn't compatible with my windows version error message. When I tried trouble shooting it by going through the inf installation files I couldn't get the hardware ID from my graphics card since it doesn't show. I did see get another error message when I tried to update the drivers on the display adapter and it said it could download the 1050 Ti's drivers or something like that and it said to go to the manufacturer's website but I ALREADY DID THAT so I am at the end of my rope here. Also when I booted up Heroes of the Storm just to see if it would work for the first time the games list didn't show up on the left of the window either but I could click on them, then I encountered some pretty bad stuttering and/or framerates running at even the lowest settings just trying to get into the game. I never made it past the log in because the log in button wouldn't even light up. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!

I have been having this issue for awhile where i will be playing certain games and then they will seem to have a driver crash. The screen will go black and then recover and sometimes the game recovers as well. Sometimes it crashes it totally and sometimes it makes the game invisible but you can still hear things and you have to force quit it. Well i have tried all of the basic things like updating drivers and using 3rd party utilities to cleanly remove the drivers and then reinstall new ones. I have even tried to stop windows from getting driver updates and still this issue is happening. Well the only error im getting in the event viewer is this. Display event 4101 Desc: Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered: I have been trying to find a way to solve this issue but i have yet to find one so im hoping someone here may be able to help with this because its really annoying. Its not system breaking but its completely random. I can play a game for hours with no issue or play for 5 minutes and it will show up. This gets really annoying in games that are multiplayer where the crashing and having to restart the game and such can cause a death. Anyway thanks for reading and hope i can get some help fixing this eventually.

Hello gentleman, lately I've done a budget build. Intel Core i5-3470 (used) 8gb of ddr3 memory (new) Gigabyte GTX 1060 3gb (used) 256gb ssd (new) 1tb WD blue hdd (new) OS: Windows 10 installed on the ssd All the games in my steam library works fine. When, I want to get something something off my games on disks i get Isdone error. It usually happens when I try to install larger games. Fixes and other solutions I've tried: 1. As suggested by my google searches I've tried setting up some virtual memory. 2. Checking health of my new ssd and hdd (no issues found) 3. Trying my RAM sticks on a other pc (worked fine) 4. Looked if windows defender was bugging with me (not this time) 5. Setting my TMP locations to my 1tb hdd with 600gb free memory Possible suspects: 1. Bad instalation of windows 10 2. Bad partitioning for some reason? I don't want to rush reinstalling the OS since I have some important work to do on it. Please guys, I know many of you are experienced with these problems. Maybe you can help me figure out what is going on. I'm starting to grow some gray hairs Thank you for your anwsers in advance.

I bought my only PC back in 2014 i think, and since then ive only added a used GPU that I found on eBay. The system is a prebuilt that i got off of amazon called "CybertronPC Borg-Q". Spec-wise it has an AMD FX-4130, Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard, 1TB 7200rpm HDD, EVGA GTX960, 8gb DDR3 ram and a 450w PSU. For quite a while now its been having all sorts of issues. The most concerning being Windows freezing on startup before the computer boots, which I work around by powering off/on till it boots. When powering on the PC, there is a super loud spinning noise that comes from inside that sounds like its coming from my HDD but im not sure. Ive also had some USB ports completely stop working in the middle of browsing the internet, but other USB ports still work. Ive tried running a couple different Windows commands in command prompt to try and fix some issues but nothing has worked so far. Wondering if the hardware is just starting to fail, but if thats the case then id be out of luck because im barely scraping by on rent and credit bills. If it would save my PC from just flat-out dying, i could possibly pull together $10-$20 for a repair but id really rather it not come to that. Not sure if it will help at all, but ill include a picture of the internals. I dont have any idea of what info i need to share to help diagnose the problems, but please let me know if i need to upload pics of anything else!!!

I've run into a problem after my younger brother plugged my 32 foot usb 3.0 extension for my windows mixed reality headset into a usb 2.0 port. After which I plugged into a usb 3.0 port but, the realtek controller has produced a code 10 error stating "Specified range could not be found in the range list". The usb extension still functions but I cannot seem to get a signal or boot sequence from the headset when I use it (it should be noted that the headset worked before and that until only recently has it given me any trouble, and yes the headset works on its own). Here is the usb extension: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Plugable-10-Meter-32-Foot-USB-3-0-Active-Extension-Cable-with-AC-Power-Adapter-Included/139325966?comm-msg-vehicle=EMAIL&comm-msg-id=d99752ac-3f9f-4b18-84cd-82b8fb533889 Any Help is appreciated I will try to reply to questions if there are any, Thank you!!!

I just recently built a new gaming pc and for the 1st week, I had no issues but recently every time I restart my pc it says "Getting Windows Ready" and this lasts about 2 hours before it works again. I have tried doing a fresh windows install, wiping my entire hard drive and running multiple software programs but every time it says there is no issue. Is there some way I can fix this that does not require paid software?

So I recently attempted to OC my Ryzen 5 1600 to around 3.6ghz with 1.375v and while booting up, it soon crashed and I received a blue screen saying "Video Scheduler Error". I went back into my BIOS and reset back to stock speeds and it still continues to crash. Can anyone help me out here? P.S. I've already asked in #tech-support on the official Discord but to no avail. P.P.S. System repair does not work either. Update: Tried to boot up again and got "System Service Exception"

Okay, so I am having a huge problem with Windows 10 right now. Actually a few. I need answers ASAP. Problem # 1.) When I boot into Windows and enter my password, it takes over a minute to load my desktop (Yes, I have an SSD) Problem # 2.) When I finally get to my desktop, I can't open my start menu. If I click it, my entire task bar freezes and I can't click anything, even the icons on the right. Problem # 3.) After the task bar freezes, some icons on my desktop disappear. Seems that it's only the shortcuts that disappear. This is creating a HUGE problem for me since I do photography, and I DO NOT need to have missing icons and non-responsive task bars. Also, once the task bar freezes, I can't even open PC settings, access CMD, or Task Manager. Absolutely nothing. I just tried fully resetting it, still didn't do anything. But, if I have an application already open, it works fine. (No problems at all with Windows 7, though) Here are the specs for my machine: MSI Z8-G41 PC MATE Core i7 4790K 32GB Crucial DDR3 Kingston 240GB SSD (almost brand new) 2x2TB WD Red (Raid 1) Geforce GTX 750Ti FTW Sentey 850W 80+ PSU Please help. I need some answers ASAP. Thanks, Cameron Lasley

So I finished building my computer yesterday and today I started the process of downloading all my drivers. This is my first time ever doing this. In order I downloaded the intel chipset drive, intel management engine components, and then intel rapid storage. The first error I got was while downloading intel rapid storage which told me I needed microsoft .NET framework 4.5. So I decided to check for windows updates and installed all of them (aside from language packs). It didn't install framework 4.5 so I went and downloaded it online. fixed the error and was able to install intel rapid storage. Now when I try to install my realtek hd audio drivers I get this error: My device manager and programs installed look like this (obv not full view of either): I'm kinda confused. I also get this error every time I restart/power on my computer: halp :^(

So I've tried three times to upgrade from Windows 7 to 10 but I keep getting the Windows 10 install error C1900101-30018 once I hit around 30% on the upgrade progress screen. I've uninstalled my anti virus completely, and I've made sure that my SSD has 21 + gbs free as 64 bit windows 10 apparently requires 20 gb free space for the upgrade process. I've tried everything I can think of, I've trouble shot it to the moon and back, and I just can't figure out what my problem is. I found a page on Microsoft's forums describing what one fellow who was having the same problem as me had to do; and it basically amounted to him having to uninstall all non essential software individually and completely as well as removing his GPU and uninstalling his GPU drivers. My question is, surely that can't be the only way. Has anyone else had this issue or heard of someone who did, and is there any idea what I can do to get the upgrade process going smoothly. Thanks ahead of time guys. Oh I should mention that I ran memtest as well and the memory's definitely not the problem, some people apparently have said that bad ram was their problem when upgrading to 10 but I can knock that one off the list. My machine's extremely stable and relatively high end so I can't figure out where my problem lies. There's also no onboard video for my motherboard so removing the GPU isn't really an option for me, though I fail to see why that would be needed for an OS upgrade.
