Hello there! I will be selling my PC with has the following components as listed below. Unsure I am about how to price the thing, could you guys help me out? The thing is if I look for example at listings for a 3090 i find such a big difference in pricing same for other parts. I dont want to offer an horrendous price like thise weird prices on Facebook Marketplace and such. The PC is still in good conditions, parts are 4 years old except the 3090 is newer. What would be a realistic and good deal for this? Hi guys! I'm not sure if this is even the right place to ask this but I'm somewhat desperate for answer. I recently bought this HP 8300 from my local thrift store, wasn't working, replaced the memory and all the sudden it worked. Cool right? I did however notice that whoever donated the computer did not take the hard drive out. Me being curious, I boot up the PC to see Windows 7 asking to start in normal mode because it seemed like it shut off randomly. I boot it up and get brought to a sign in screen which looks like a domain of some sort for a company I've never heard of, so I'm asking you guys for help. What should I do here? Email the company and tell them about what I may have. Just format the drive and go on about my day. Just replace the hard drive with personal data with an empty SSD. I'm open to many suggestions, I'm not too worried that they want the data back since the hard drive was in there, I just want to do the right thing here incase maybe they didn't know...

Hi LTTstore LTT Forums Kinda new at picking my own parts, so apologies for the possibly stupid and easily googlable question. The backstory: My PSU recently kicked the bucket and didn't manage to shock the rest of my system (Though it sure seemed to give its best effort, but ultimately rolled a nat 1). Loaned a PSU from my friend and everything else works, yay! Now I need a new PSU, but not sure on how to choose one. The recently deceased one was picked by someone I'm not in contact with anymore. I'm running the following: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Nvidia RTX 2060 super 2 x 32gb, CL16 3600 MHz RAM The question: I've calculated the needed wattage to be just shy of 400W with my specs. How many W's should my new PSU be? The only thing I'd like for the PSU, is to be modular, as I'd rather not deal with the overabundance of cables I don't use clogging up my case. I'm not fond of cheaping out on a PSU, but I'm not that fond of buying one that would be overkill for my system (Or one that would be "Future proofing" aka larger wattage in case I want to upgrade) EDIT: I'd also like it to be around the 100€ price point, as this happened at the worst time financially Thank you for your time, Peter

Hi guys. Well, life is changing (kinda). I have multiple job opportunities to strive for before me. Here they are: On my LinkedIn page (which my current employer requires we all have for business relations reasons), another IT firm/thing has sent me a message about being interested in hiring me. While this sounds cool, I've never heard of them. They are a little over an hour away, and I know nothing about any of that (their location, the people there, etc.) However, they have it on their webpage and in this message that they believe people should love where they work. That's right up my alley because that's how my current employer is and it's a generally good thing (obviously). It's 20 minutes from a relative I could stay with, and odds are, I would be paid a bit more. It's just a matter of "It's new and I have to start over being social." basically, but I get that's just part of a new job and I should get used to it. So yeah. That's one option. My ultimate problem in life is that I'm complacent. If I could just stay doing what I'm doing all my life, I'm fine with that, even with my pay. I'd live in my vehicle and sell my house if I could do so with a server and computer/connection to the internet and the basic amenities (i.e. RV) if I could. But tis life. The next option I have is to work at my step-dad's employer. They. Sound. Awesome. He actively gets bonuses (for being a good employee of course) frequently, stocks, and all sorts of bonus "reward" things. Though I'm not sure if that's just because they like him and he's good at what he does, but from what I've heard from him, that's kind of how it is for everyone at his workplace. I'd probably have to move because it's as far or further than the prior job and I wouldn't be working in the same place he does, so I can't ride with him there. I've heard the pay is good as well. The only problem is, again the "I have to be social" thing, and that I know little of what I would actually be doing. They have an IT position open (according to him), but ... that is very vague. I guess I'll just have to explore this one more. The problem with the above two things is that they are just work experience. I'd really like to go back to college at some point. Anything that helps me do that is a major plus. Which brings me to the next one: The Air Force (or other military branch). The Air Force specifically has their own college which is acredited and accepted by the southern colleges (some board thing where they all accept each other's credits and stuff). A negative is the training because it will be hard, but I am sure I can handle it, but it's a positive because I would learn a lot of useful life skills as well. A negative is I would be away from my family, but to me, that's also a positive. I think they are a bit too dependent on me to be honest. They need to sort their things out and I am not the type of person to turn down helping someone unless I have to. This would make it a "have to". A negative is that I might get paid better elsewhere, but I have 2 years of college (67 hours of credit) already and that guarantees me a promotion and pay raise when I leave basic, so it's not that big of a negative. Plus I get college credit for basic, so not much of a negative at all. Then there's the benefits of the military (insurance, pensions, that stuff). However, there is the huge negative to this that it's entirely possible that World War III will start soon. The world is just like it was before WW I & II. The US is in an isolationist mind set just like it was after the Spanish-American War. Russia is pulling some Nazi stuff with Crimea and the Ukraine. I mean really. It's not that out there that I might be deployed to a battle zone. Which, I'd accept if I were in the military, but it's something to consider. Overall, this is probably the best choice in terms of overall package. However, I may or may not be disqualified due to varying reasons. We will see. And yeah. Those are my 3 options currently. A 4th would be to stay where I am, but .... eh. That would kind of rock and suck at the same time. I love it here, but .. the pay and the career ladder aren't there. Sometimes that's worth it, but only if you are older and have the capital to take a hit in your potential pay. I'm not, and don't. What do you guys think? Any advice and/or knowledge to give? First of all, my computer is has a 3070, b550m, ryzen 7 3700x with 32 gbs ram. I run most games at the same frames per second no matter what settings i run other than extremely high and whenever i put anti-aliasing or scale it up like from 1920x1080 to 2560x1080. I have 2 monitors, a 200hz ultrawide and a 280hz main monitor i use for gaming. What i think the solution would be is to upgrade my cpu but i researched online and built my pc to 3080 spec but couldnt find one for not 1300 and went with a 3070. Can somebody please help with this. drivers are updated. I play rust and war thunder

I just can't decide what graphics card I should get, I don't want to get something overkill if it's not needed so I need some advice. I would be using this card for indie games, and Overwatch but I don't really have much interest in any AAA titles other an Overwatch. I can't decide between the rx 460, gtx 1050 or the gtx 1050 Ti. What do you think would be best to fit my needs?

Recently mucked around with eyefinity for a little bit, and my computer stopped recognizing two of my monitors so I restarted. Then I got this error. What's completely bizarre is that I've never once installed Linux on this machine. Wtf? Surely someone has seen this error before. I have no idea what to do about this as I've already tried the basic restart, cold boot, and boot menu check. Pls halp Oh also the only thing I could think of that has a chance of doing this is wanacrypt0r but my system was up to date and I don't believe it operates like this...

Hello! I removed all the parts from my pre-built pc (ASUS G11 CD) moths ago, and I'm going to build a new pc from them. I need to know the size of the motherboard I have, because I want to build a matx build. I assume that the motherboard is matx because it looks like one, but i'm not 100% sure. So I don't really know if this is the right place for this but here we go anyway. I just finished building my new PC today. And after moving my drives into it I turned it on. And windows booted up like nothing had changed. I was under the impression that with a mobo changed id need a fresh install of windows. I'm really confused on how it's even working normally because prior to putting my drives in I deactivated my product key. Should I do a fresh install to be safe, or should I just leave it? I'm planning to buy my first gaming laptop soon, and I don't know how much ssd I should get? I get that hdd is slower but could store more, and that ssd are more expensive and has low gb, what if I have a shit ton of games, will I store them in an ssd, should I get both ssd and hdd? How will they work together, do you just choose which game will be running on ssd by simply storing them there or what? Again I'm pretty new to this stuff, can someone help me out?

What is the best motherboard for gaming and overclocking and is reasonably affordable and has cool aesthetics like RGB or armor and has very good ports and a good bios etc?.

So I haven't bought a mouse in years, over 5 years I've been using the same mouse that I bought. It's some Gigabyte extreme laser mouse. It's really worn out and I want to replace it, but to my surprise I can't find laser mice anymore. I mean I can, but they're very rare. What happened? Years ago laser mice were the best, the most accurate, the highest dpi, dpi changing on the fly, etc. Now I can only find optical mice which back in the day where decent at best, most were barely any better than the ball mice. Did the optical technology caught up to the laser one and even surpassed it or lasers are just to expensive so everyone just went back to optical because it's cheaper to produce?
