Budget (including currency): Don't really have one in mind, just don't want to spend big bucks unnecessarily. But I would say $3000 CADis my goal if possible. Not including Windows Key. Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly AAA and non AAA games. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/8pLcv3 Linked above is what I have currently picked out for parts. With this being my second rig I will be carrying over peripherals, monitors and non-boot storage devices. Resolution I will be gaming at is 1440p; personally think gaming at 4k is unnecessary. Right now if it weren't for its stupidly high price I would be getting a 4080, hopefully AMD's Radeon release either A) is just a straight better buy or B) makes Nvidia's pull their head out there ass and drops the pricing. Yes I have a fairly big budget, but I hate spending lots of money just because corporate thinks their stuff is worth almost $2200 CAD like with the 4090. As of right now the only things not in the list that I need to add are a GPU, PSU which depends on what GPU I get, and water-cooling supplies. Which at the moment my plan is to go with Corsair assuming they will make parts for new gpu's and cpu's. I can't think of anything else at the moment other than I am looking to sell my current Rig, which is a Ryzen 5 3600 cpu, 2x8GB DDR4 Ram and a GTX 1080 as shown below. So that should give me around and extra $500 CAD. I doubt I can get much more than that for it.

https://wccftech.com/gigabyte-unveils-aorus-xtreme-waterforce-graphics-cards-features-water-cooling-with-leak-detection/ Gigabyte releases water-cooled graphics cards. I wanted this to happen because I'm more likely to trust a factory job than my hands for that. Also you don't pay for the whole air cooling system is you want to water cool anyway. They will also be more rare than normal 3000 series so good luck to that

Looking for advice as to why my temps are so poor, and what I might be able to do to improve them, but first, some backstory. (All primary watercooling parts are from EK, photo attached) I built my rig in early 2015 in the Enthoo Luxe, using a 240mm rad in the top and a 120mm in the rear to cool my 4790k and single GTX 980. Temps were great and I was very happy with the system. Then, in late 2015, I moved my system into the Enthoo Evolv, and rearranged the rad configuration to the same 240, now in the front and a slim 360 in the top. I immediately saw an increase in my temperatures, which I was not expecting as I actually upgraded my pump to a proper DDC at the same time as adding far more radiator space. I assumed this was due to the significantly poorer airflow in the new case, but it was not until recently when I put a second 980 into my system that the temps got to the point of concern. My primary card with a very aggressive fan profile can reach up to 60 degrees in games, which is far higher than I would expect/want for a water-cooled system.

So I've had my Ryzen 1700 overclock to 3.75 GHz for about a year and a half. Never had issues with it before. Before I was running a GTX 1080. That card will be swapped to an Intel build I'm working on and so now I swapped to a Vega 64 both are the strix edition. Now I runn the Ryzen under a Nzxt Kraken X62 (I had an X61 before on a previous build and loved it.) Now I replaced the thermal paste twice. And cranked the fans on high when having but still get high temps. Bios on the board is updated. Cam software is updated. Not sure what else to do. Also the PC will shut down when it gets near 95 C....I think. Please help. ?

Hi guys, hope you all had a great weekend. It was total toss up on which forum I'd post this thread, because this con because this question is related to the CPU & Liquid Cooling setup. Alright guys I purchased just about everything for my new build simply titled "Project Aurora" specs are posted below. It was total toss up on which forum I'd post this thread, because this con because this question is related to the CPU & Liquid Cooling setup. Alright guys I purchased just about everything for my new build simply titled "Project Aurora" specs are posted below. Hardware Digital Checklist
Chassis/Case: Thermaltake Versa N21 Operating System: Windows 10 Professional 64bit OEM [_] Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB DDR3 1600MHz [_] Processor: AMD FX-8350 Black Edition 8-core 4.2GHz [_] Thermal Paste: Arctic Silver 5 High-Density [_] Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB-512 bit [_] Sound Card: Creative Soundblaster ZX [_] Motherboard: ASUS 970 Pro Gaming/Aura AM3+ [_] Hard Drive: Western Digital/Seagate 01: 1TB Western Digital(HDD) [_] 02: 2TB Seagate (HDD) [_] 03: 4GB Seagate (SSHD)[_] CPU Cooler (Air Cooled|Liquid Cooled): - TBD/TBA [_] Power Supply Unit: Corsair TX850W [850 Watt] [_] BD Drive: Pioneer 2208B5PK [BD-RW] [_] System Fan(s): Thermaltake Series [_]
So for first that should clear up the type of rig I'm building especially for Gaming, Photoshop, Rendering etc.. I apologize if I've made this topic hard to read, but I'm on the go as of now posted this on my iPhone 6, but I really wanted to get this out before I forget and left anything out. Originally I had my heart sat on the AMD FX-9590 but read all the negativity online about how hot it gets and even water cooling cannot cool down the processor, but I changed my decision to purchase the processor and just want/went with the AMD FX-8350 Black Edition, because I fear I'd damage my rig with overheating and other risks and dangerous. with spending so much money a processor kind of pricey and dies within a few months so as people often conversate about. the processor due to excessive heat problems. So would the NZXT X61, that'll keep my FX 8350 cold, I don't plan on overclocking anything of the It's not necessary at the moment. Here are two other liquid coolers that I seek and very undecided on. And very unsure about those due to reviews, which makes all of this a very hard decision of my choosing, I do know that things aren't built to be perfect just like other brands when everyone thinks brand A is better than brand B & C. Only thing that bothers me about the liquid coolers I have the fear that the tubes especially by watching and doing a little research on leakage from viewing pictures, videos, and other things on youtube stating liquid CPU coolers I'm extremely shocked about the FX 9590 on how the temperature rises above with crazy temps at its peak not even with gaming which is a total disaster after reading so many reviews, video reviews, word of mouth, an Below are the following that I considered on purchasing
Zalman: Reserator 3 Dual Ultimate Reserator 3 Corsair: H100i Hydro Series H80i GT
I've Also had a few more others in mind, I forgot which cooler(s) I had in mind wish I would have written things down on a notepad. And thanks in advance sorry for leaving such a huge post behind, I really hope I don't tend to confuse you all!

I was going to buy the Streamcom FC10 Alpha which you can get for around $330 but i wont be able to cool the components down within the threshold i like with air cooling options. The problem is that in this case the only water cooling solution is to do a custom external loop. Which kills the idea of small powerhouse that i had for this build. I currently use my daily driver in a F.D. Node 304, that i consider far too large. The components that i will be cooling are: Either a 4670k @ 4.20ghz, 6700k @ 4.20ghz, or a 5930k @ 4.20 ghz. (all clocks are reasonable and the 4.20ghz is for immersiveness) A 980ti A Mini Itx Board The problem is that in the fc10 i cant fit a rad in that case(after mods) because the gpu will be in the way, blocking airflow. What i want out of the case/build: Near silence High performance w/o the footprint No fires Most importantly: Aesthetics. I have done a decently large search of cases that fit my needs and the only manufacturer that got close was silver stone, though all of the itx cases are too tall. Do you guys(the community) know of any cases that fit my needs or any companies that can custom make one that is of solid quality?

Hello everybody! I wanted to post my upcoming build here as a bit of a sanity check. I would greatly appreciate any critique the community can provide. Thank you in advance! About me: I live in the US. I'm a long-time veteran of custom PC building (built my first custom PC in the mid-90s), but my last (personal) build was in 2006 (not counting a few upgrades along the way). I've done a bunch of research to try and get a handle on what has changed in the last 8 years, but I probably have some blind-spots. I don't want to waste any money, but if a few extra dollars will better meet my goals (especially future-proofing) I'd rather spend it now than regret it later. About my goals: As a gamer I have generally moved away from AAA titles and enjoy more indie games (Minecraft, Prison Architect, Fez, World of Goo, etc), with exceptions for my favorite franchises (Starcraft, Diablo, Crysis/FarCry, GalCiv, Bioshock, Halflife/Portal, Deus Ex, Mass Effect, Skyrim, etc.). In other words, my daily gaming needs are pretty modest, but when a game on my wishlist comes out, I'd like it to run as well as possible. My everyday needs are also fairly modest. I publish youtube videos via webcam and game-capture software (usually Minecraft and Bandicam), and I'm a tab fiend in my web-browser (I have 20 chrome tabs open now, probably double that earlier today). I occasionally run image editing software and do some web and game development as well. I'd like this machine to be as future-proof as possible. My current machine has lasted me 8 years with a graphics-card upgrade and a RAM upgrade in years 6 and 7. If I could get a similar lifespan out of my new one, I'd be very happy. Looks are not the most important thing, but I've never before built a flashy PC and I'd like to make this one a looker if it doesn't add a lot of expense. I'm definitely considering a whole-system water cooling option, but I'm undecided about cost vs. benefit. After everything is settled I might even throw a bit of sexy lighting in too. My budget: If I can get 8 years out of the machine, my budget would be around $1200 ($150/year which is about what I got from my last machine - including upgrades), not including keyboard/mouse. About my (proposed) build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/LeifMasrud/saved/qZfD4D Case: NZXT H440 Black/Red CPU: Intel Core i7 4790k CPU Cooler: Stock (Later upgrade to whole-system water-cooling) Motherboard: Asus Maximus VII Formula Graphics Card: Asus GTX 760 DC2OC (Later upgrade to a second 760 SLI) RAM: G.Skill Trident X DDR3 1600 16GB Kit (2x8GB) Power Supply: Corsair HX750i 80+ Platinum Full Modular I already have a copy of 64-bit Windows 7 Pro, 2 SSDs, a 1TB HDD, Monitor, Webcam, Speakers, Mic, Etc. I could definitely use a new keyboard and mouse, however: Keyboard: Corsair K70 RGB Brown Switch Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma Questions: Given my goals, have I wasted any money? Would alternative components give me more future-proofness without breaking the bank? Have I mismatched any components (i.e. created a needless bottleneck)? Is it a waste to consider a whole-system water-cooling option? Current system: In case anybody is interested: Case: Athenatech A416BS.400 (some cheapo $30 case, iirc) CPU: Intel Core2 6400 2.13GHz CPU Cooler: Stock Intel heatsink/fan Motherboard: Intel DP965LT Graphics Card: GeForce 7600 GT later upgraded to GeForce GTX 460 RAM: 6GB of who-knows what (3 DIMMs, all different) Power Supply: Corsair HX750 non-modular

hey guys so I know there are many h440 threads on the forums.. maybe too many. But I have an h440 coming soon along with a kraken x61 (280mm). I've looking around, from what I can see everyone seems to be mounting rads on the top. I was planning on mounting on the front with the fans in push to get fresh air from the front, even tho there is some resistance. at any rate what I have planned in my head is rear exhaust corsair Af140 front kraken x61 with the included kraken fans or 2x SP140s in push to get fresh air. top : 2x140 Af140s running with the voltage step down wire just want some quick input, any flaws with the setup in my head. any h440 owners who are water cooled? what is your setup and if so explain why you have it the way you do ! thanks

Hey, So I'm pretty new to the Forum so bare with me as this is my first post! So I am in dire need of a new computer and want to build my own. (crazy I know right?) I want to do it right the first time and not skimp on any parts, but this would be my first time actually building a computer although I did pick the parts for my friends computer and helped him build it which turned out great. His build: Corsair 650D Gigabyte Z77 Dual Thunderbolt Mobo (UP4-TH) GTX 680 Some Antec PSU Blu Ray drive Crucial 256GB SSD WD Red 3TB HDD Some crappy CPU fan Anyway I had the idea of doing a water-cooled 350D because I like the size of it and the looks. I also want to do some custom sleeving. I want to water cool a GTX 770 and was wondering if I would just use a GTX 680 waterblock since they both use GK 104 cores? So here's my parts list at the moment: Hardware: Intel 4770K Intel 250GB SSD Seagate 2TB Corsair Builder Series 600 Watt PSU Gigabyte Z87 mATX Motherboard EVGA GTX 770 SuperClocked Corsair 350D Water-cooling: XSPC EX240 Rad XSPC EX120 Rad Swiftech Mcp655-B Pump XSPC Compression fittings XSPC Raystorm CPU block IC Diamond Thermal compound PrimoChill PrimoFlex tubing clear Swiftech MCRES Micro Reservoir Koolance Full coverage Waterblock for GTX 680 (?) 2X Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition Twin Pack I would love your suggestions for coolant. Something maybe either neon green or white? I'm also going to pick up some Ice Modz LEDs as well as sleeving. Usage: I will mainly be using this computer for Adobe Programs (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects) but will also be doing some gaming, and would like to game on ultra or high settings at 1920x1080. I will also be doing 3D modeling using cinema 4D and 3DS Max/Maya, so I will need some serious power. Mainly I want it to be pretty quiet and have no problems with the cooling loop. OS: I want to use windows 8 because it is the newest OS and will be updated the fasted. I might eventually also dual boot OSX but that is a very big maybe. As for windows 8 I was wondering if it is worth it to go with pro or just use the basic OEM version? Conclusion: Thanks for reading my post; any and all feedback is welcome! Hopefully all of these parts will work out because I think it will look pretty cool! Thanks again, ~LightKnight09

Hi, I'm planning a new build in the phanteks evolv shift. I wanted to watercool it because of the poor airflow, and am wondering if the new flat reservoirs from ekwb (https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-quantum-kinetic-flt-120-ddc-pwm-d-rgb-plexi) would fit where the 2.5" drive bays are in the shift (http://www.phanteks.com/Enthoo-Evolv-Shift.html). What do you think?
